Waking up from the most relaxing and blissful sleep I've had in months. The sun stung my eyes as I slowly woke up causing me to wince. As my eyes adjusted to the sudden harsh lighting, noticing Nathan lying beside me staring down at me fondly. Turning my head away and moving against him.

"God," I breathed. "You startled me." I laughed softly making him smile wider. "I just never thought I'd see you again." Nathan answered. I couldn't help but smile up at him before he leaned down to kiss me softly. Tonight, sleeping beside him was the most relaxed I've ever felt since I left. When I was with him by his side, I felt like I belonged.

Rolling my eyes at his sappy comment as my stomach did summer salts seeing him look down at me with so much adoration. "I'm so glad I found you." He breathed against my face making my mind turn to putty. Nathan leaned down to give me another soft kiss. I couldn't help but feel slightly undeserving of his unconditional and consistent love towards me.

"We should-" I began to pull away to get out of bed making him grab my waist lightly. I just looked up at him as he grinned. "In a minute." He kissed me again. I still couldn't believe he was here with me back in my bed lying beside each other, holding one another. It felt surreal. I thought I'd never see him again let alone be able to be in this moment with him again.

"How did you find me?" I asked hesitantly making him pull away sighing softly. My lips parted about to continue questioning him not understanding why he was so hesitant to tell me. "Valerie thought that it would be smartest to avoid the places where we already knew you wouldn't be found. Like big cities or places you've been before. We started looking around for anyone who suddenly moved into a small town with a child. It was still a lot of people and states to do research and travel to before we started driving through some small towns asking around." Nathan explained as I listened slightly impressed.

"Dominic had been following us knowing we were looking for you too. I was the one who brought him here to you. I'm so sorry. I had no idea. I was such an idiot I should've been more careful. I had no idea who he was-" Nathan began quickly making me interrupt his nervous rambling. "It's ok, Nathan. He would have found me sooner or later." I tried to assure him.

"I should've been honest with you. I should've told you about Rose's father. I just hoped I would ever see him again. But I knew sooner or later I would have to confront him again. It was inevitable. Don't blame yourself." I continued trying to ease his guilt looking at him as we laid in bed. "But I brought him here. He followed us-" "That isn't your fault." I interrupted until my eyebrows furrowed in realization

"Us? Who else is here with you?" I asked quickly pulling away from him. "Lee. He insisted. He's alright Dominic didn't care about taking him." Nathan said making me frown.

"My brother came to the hospital to bring me clothes and help me leave to talk to you." He explained making me look away as the pieces slowly came together. "I need to get Rose to school." I said getting reluctantly getting out of bed before getting dressed. "I don't want her to know you're here. Not yet." I began not looking at him.

"I need to explain why you're here and why you're hurt. I hate lying to her." I breathed as I threw my shirt on with my back to him. "Alright." He said as I turned to face him as he struggled to get out of bed. "She'll be excited to see you. She's been asking about you." I said as he walked up to me with a smile.

After a few seconds I pulled away feeling paranoid that Rose would walk in. Leaving Nathan in the bedroom to get Rose ready, the two of us left and made it to my car. I frowned seeing another note on my car windshield making me rush and pull it to read as Rose continued inside the car. "I'd like to continue our little chat." It read with a new address making me grit my teeth crumpling the note into a ball.

Quickly driving her to school before giving her a tight hug. I hated being away from her especially knowing Dominic was in town, but I knew this was the safest place for her right now. Around crowds of children her age and teachers and other parents to watch over her. Driving back home to see an unfamiliar grey car in the driveway for my apartment.

My heart sank as my mind went miles a minute with every possible scenario that could be waiting for me upstairs. I pulled out my gun slowly walking up the stairs down the hallway towards my front door. Opening it trying not to make any noise. Hearing two men talking as I stood tall aiming my gun. Expecting to see Dominic here to finish what we started.

Nathan and Lee suddenly walked into the living room making me jump out of my skin. "Woah." Lee said with wide eyes. Letting out a breath I didn't know I was holding quickly putting my gun down . "God," I breathed putting my gun in the waistline of my pants. "I could have killed you!" I huffed making Lee chuckle. "Nice to see you too." Lee replied.

"I really don't think it's a good idea for you to be here." I confessed seriously making Nathan step towards me. "Dominic didn't care about taking him he's only interested in you and I." Nathan said making me look away. "That's supposed to make me feel better?"

"And we don't know that for sure. He would do anything to get under my skin." I answered not yet telling him about the deal Dominic offered me. "What about your wife and kids? Aren't they worried about where you are?" I asked Lee not wanting to think about another person getting hurt and sucked into this.

"I told Emily I was on a business trip. I want to help in any way I can." Lee said making me sigh walking away towards my room. I heard them follow as I grabbed clothes and a few weapons.

"What are you doing?" Nathan asked as he walked up to me. I walked away from him again growing frustrated quickly grabbing my holster. "I need to find Dominic and fix this." Knowing once he was dead, I would finally be free. No one would dare continue to come after the woman capable of killing Dominic and my boss.

But if I couldn't kill him, I knew there was still a way to fix all of this and keep everything out of harms away. I just didn't know how to break the news to Nathan or Rose after they both just got me back.

"What? He will kill you!" Nathan beamed. "He's going to kill everyone I care about if I don't do something!" I replied throwing the clothes in my hands at my feet. "Dominic is furious with me. He will do anything and everything to make me suffer for what I've done!" I yelled with pleading eyes. "I know what I need to do." I turned away again continuing to find the clothes I needed.

"How do we even know where he is?" Lee said as I continued rummaging through my things with my back turned away from them. "He told me. He wants to meet me." I said still not looking up at them.

"What?" Nathan growled grabbing my elbow. "No. Not alone you're not." He demanded making me let out a weak laugh. "Please." I pulled away from him harshly. "You are injured. You can barely stand! And there's no chance in hell that I would let you come even if you weren't." I scoffed.

"Then let Lee go. It's obviously a trick." Nathan continued making me walk away frustrated. "I'm heavily skilled in being able to protect myself." I stated firmly hoping he would drop it. Although I was hesitant about it knowing Dominic would be much stronger being younger than my boss was. And more determined than Mikhail because of our complicated history.

"Why do you even need to find him? Shouldn't we be leaving this place and changing your names?" Lee asked as I faced them again. "It's no use. Dominic always gets what he wants. It won't be long until he finds us again. This is the only way to insure he'll leave Nathan and Rose alone. And keep her from ever having to meet him." I continued looking away making Lee confused.

"Lee, can you give us a minute please?" I asked hesitantly as Nathan walked up to me. I hated how easy it was to notice how worried and anxious I was about something. It felt foreign to have someone so close to me to notice things about myself that I couldn't.

Lee just nodded and left closing the bedroom door behind him. "What's wrong?" He asked reaching out for me making me lean off the dresser. "I can't deny that I'm afraid." I answered simply stepping up to him as he held my waist. "But I still have to see him, Nathan. Alone." I said continuing to pull away knowing how he would react. I turned to grab my guns.

"Absolutely not." Nathan replied stern making me face him. "Nate-" "Gen!" He interrupted making me sigh heavily. "I know! I know." I looked away breathing heavily trying not to lash out at him just because we were both scared of all the things that could go wrong. "I won't let anything bad happen. Please, just trust me." I pleaded in a soft tone trying to ease his anger and worry.

"Gen, I can't just let you see him without knowing what's happening. What if you need help?" Nathan said. "Alright." I sighed thinking of a plan. "W-What if Lee puts a camera on me so you will know if things escalate?" I said hesitantly making him think for a moment.

If he agreed, then he would have to watch Dominic's every move he would make against me and all the things he would say to upset me. Our past history. I didn't want Nathan to know anything about that part of my life. The person I used to be. But I would do anything to ease his worry and allow me to meet Dominic alone.

"Fine." He said before his eyes made his way down on my lips. Stepping towards me placing his hand around my back pulling me closer. Nathan's forehead rested on mine. "I promise I will be careful." I assured softly closing my eyes as he kissed the top of my head.

Reluctantly pulling away from his warm, comforting arms to put on the old outfit I always wore to kill. Struggling to put on my belt before I was finally finished. Looking in the mirror raking myself up and down. "I couldn't believe I used to feel pride whenever I wore this. I used to feel so strong and powerful. So, untouchable in this getup." I confessed into the mirror as Nathan stood behind me.

I couldn't count the times I've killed people in this without any second thought. Trusting who gave me all of my information and orders. So much had changed when Nathan came into my life.

"I feel like a different person." I ran my palms down my waist evening out the black material. "You'll never have to wear it again. Not after today." Nathan said wrapping his arm around me leaning into me. My heart broke as I turned around to face him again.

"No matter what happens today I'm going to do whatever I can to make sure you and Rose are safe." I pressed looking up into his eyes. I was unable to confess to him the possibility of going back into the organization. I knew he wouldn't understand and would do everything to keep me from seeing Dominic.

"I mean it, Nathan. You can't interfere with anything that happens tonight. He can't know you're involved. He will only want to kill you more." I continued stern making him nod. "Alright." Nathan replied. I brought my hand to the side of his face running my thumb over his stubble. Looking up at him with intensity holding his face in my hands.

"I love you, Nathan. So much." I breathed heavily with tears in my eyes. "Please promise me that you won't intervene." I continued. "I promise." He replied. I brought my palm to his chest feeling his steady heartbeat as I closed my eyes leaning into his kiss.

We made it into the living room where Lee stood on the phone with someone. "What are you doing?" I spit making him turn his head confused. "I'll call you back. Love you." He said to the person making me realize it was his wife.

"You realize he can easily track you with that. That's probably how he followed you here." I said full of frustration walking up to him. "Don't worry no one is able to track me on my devices." Lee stated amused remembering he was really good with computers and technology.

"Do you even know how to defend yourself?" I asked walking away to take out a gun from my locked drawer. They both took a step back in surprise seeing it in my hands as I turned to face them again. Lee jumped slightly as I put the clip in. I ignored my slight amusement seeing them so nervous around it. "Our securities always had the guns." Lee said as I handed it to him, and he hesitantly took it not knowing how to hold it confidently.

"You need to know how to use one especially if Dominic has people come after you while I'm with him." They both nodded as I took it back from him. "Just aim and shoot." I said aiming it steady with one hand at the window before giving it back to him. "We won't need it we will be okay." Nathan said making me look up at him.

"You're too optimistic." I replied looking away unamused. I began attaching my weapons to my holsters. Lee got me fitted for a hidden camera. "We will be able to see everything that happens." Lee said hesitantly. "Here's an earpiece. It will allow us to communicate." He gave me a small unnoticeable device to put into my ear.

"If there's anything that insinuates a fight between you two-" Nathan began sternly before I interrupted. "You'll do nothing. Everything will be okay." I assured looking up at him. "Everything will be okay once I get this over with." I breathed to myself.

"Now who's the optimistic one?"

The weather was cloudy with a chill in the air as we pulled up to a different secluded address Dominic left on my car. "Are you sure about this?" Nathan asked me as I parked the car. "It's a little too late to back out now." I replied sarcastically making him give me a worried disapproving look.

"Please don't let anything happen. I'm serious. Genevieve. I don't want anything happening to you." Nathan pressed. "I know. I'll be fine. Just stay in the car." Leaving the car with a deep breath I felt a single rain drop on my arm making me look up at the dark sky realizing it was about to rain. I walked up to an abandoned office building.

"I still don't think this is a good idea." Nathan said making me sigh. "You aren't helping." I heard them in my earpiece. "Are you two going to be talking in my ear the entire time?" I replied under my breath looking around the building keeping my guard up. I noticed there weren't any other cars wondering if he was even here.

"I told you I won't let anything happen." I whispered before opening the door. I slowly started to enter the crumbling structure. It was dark with tile, wood and ceiling debris covering the floor. There was tables and chairs tossed over with some graffiti written on the walls. I continued to roam the first floor turning corners watching my surroundings. I didn't feel as confident as I usually did fighting against my trembling hands.

"Carmen." Dominic said from behind me making me gasp. I turned seeing him leaning against the wall with his hands in his pockets. "It really does roll of the tongue." He said as my heartbeat erratically. "Why all the abandoned places? I thought you were made of money." I said lowering my gun seeing he wasn't armed making him hum slightly amused pushing off the wall.

"I like to be alone. Especially with you." He answered making me frown as he continued raking me up and down with a mischievous grin. "I missed when you dressed for the kill." Dominic said smiling as his cold eyes met mine sending chills down my spine.

"You were such a talent." He said full of disappointment. "Now you're such a shame." Dominic said. "You told me once that you never wanted to be in a relationship. In fact, it was one of the very first things you told me about yourself." Dominic began. "You can understand my confusion on why you chose him over everything you had. All the potential. Just for that... pathetic snitch." He scoffed making me frown as he slowly walked towards me casually.

"I don't owe you-" I began but he continued cutting me off. "You've created this entire mess making your life miserable." He said curiously to himself trying to figure it all out with an angry expression. "Because I love him." I stated making his features harden as a small smile crept onto his face.

Dominic casually pulled a gun out from behind his waistband. "I thought you just wanted to talk." I said fighting the fear in my voice not wanting to show how frightened I was. "I didn't come here with the intention to fight."

"It sure looks like it, darling." Dominic said with a flirtatious smile making me tense my jaw.

"You know me, you know I never wanted this. All I've ever wanted to do was leave and live a normal life. The life that was taken from me as soon came into this organization. I deserve to be left alone after everything I have done for them." I said full of frustration. "A normal life? What's the fun in that?" He smiled amused.

"You don't deserve anything from us." Dominic continued seriously as his smirk faded making me scoff interrupting him. "I deserve everything from them. Especially you!" I beamed suddenly from all the fury and heartache for not seeing how much pain I'm already in. Or for just not caring.

"You made me feel like garbage! I felt like I was just another woman who idolized and loved you. I made the mistake to love and trust you with everything I had! You never loved me or cared about me at all, and I wish I knew that a lot sooner." I defended as his angry features relaxed and masked his emotions.

"I loved you!" I sobbed. "Which was the biggest mistake I've ever made. You just strung me along with lies and false promises molding me into someone to manipulate and take advantage of. You were the only person I trusted." I blew up after years of keeping all of my pain to myself. "But you also gave me a daughter." I said beginning to calm down.

"The only person I've ever truly loved. You gave me my one true sense of happiness and the only reason I've fought this long and hard. I'm doing all of this for her. Rose made me realize that there's good in this world. And I pity you for not knowing her- wanting to know her." I corrected myself making him silent. "Rose deserves a lot better than you. And so do I." Angry tears streamed down my face.

I felt them down my cheeks and lips. I silently scolded myself for breaking down in front on him. "Because of you I couldn't be the mother I desperately wanted and needed to be for her. The mother she deserved. I should have known how naïve it was to think you could have taken care of us and take responsibility for her." I slowly began to walk towards him unafraid.

"I should have known that the only person you really care about is yourself. And it would have been so easy for you to be the man you should've been. You are a coward, Dominic." I spit as he continued to study me trying to mask his emotions. But I knew how confused and shocked he was.

"You're not the man everyone thinks you are." I spit under my breath leaning up to
his face. "I trusted you enough to stay and love and take care of us. I was loyal to you. I was with you until the end. But that night... that night you showed me just how disgustingly wrong I was." I finished softly to the memory of him furious with me for getting pregnant.

"I did love you." Dominic finally broke his silence. I let out a cold laugh making him frown. "I don't even think you know how to love. Or know what real love feels like, Dominic." I replied. "But I know. And that's why I will always choose being with Rose and Nathan over anything you could ever promise me here." I began as
