1. It's a popular theory that the "tiny doll" besides her may actually be the real Medicine, and that she is controlling the human shape besides her.

2. Her name is derived from A Medicine For Melancholy by Ray Bradbury.

3. Although she is labeled as a youkai, Medicine's true nature may be that of a tsukumogami, as described in Perfect Memento: Eight Million Gods.

4. Though a playable character and opponent in one of the Touhou games, she tends to end up behind most Touhou Windows characters in popularity polls, and like Shizuha Aki and Minoriko Aki has become somewhat notable for her relative unpopularity.

5. The term Konparo (コンパロ) is associated with her, due to her having said "Konparo konparo, poison gathers" in her ending in PoFV. Konparo is an incorrectly abbreviated romanization of convalloside, a poison found in lily-of-the-valley flowers (it should have been Konbaro or Konvaro).

6. She bears a striking resemblance to Ayana.

7. Medicine once made an attempt to spread poison across the Human Village.

8. Another one of her favorite expressions is "Su-san". This seems to be her nickname for "suzuran" (the Japanese name for the lily-of-the-valley plant), but some fans interpret it as the name of the tiny doll that accompanies her.

9. Medicine is one of the few characters whose lecture from Eiki actually sticks, as she ends up making friends with Eirin and Reisen in an attempt to understand other people.

10. Her body is permanently coated with a many different types of poisons.
