Hawks went and sat back down in his chair, he continued eating his chicken. You sat down too, staring at your food silently. "You okay?" He asked with a nervous chuckle, "Did I say too much?"

You shook your head furiously, "No, no I just... I just don't know what to say."

"You don't have to say anything." He said with a smile as he chewed his food. "I don't need a reply. Not good at keeping things in so just accept my words and leave it at that, yeah?" He shrugged.

The rest of lunch went kinda awkward to be honest. Hawks seemed relaxed but you certainly weren't, you kept thinking about his words. Did he mean like me as in like me like a friend or romantically? You glanced up at him and noticed he was watching you softly, you looked back down immediately. I mean, he's looking at me a lot but that could mean anything. How could he like someone like me??? Nah, he's probably just trying to be nice.

Hawks finished his chicken and cleared his throat. "Well, Chicken, I hate to leave, but I have an important meeting." He said with air quotation marks. "I'll be back for our afternoon walk." He added with a wink as he pushed his hands into his pockets, "Don't find a new walking partner while I'm gone, alright?" He joked, giving you a smirk.

"I-I wouldn't do that." you said.

He smiled, "I'll be back." He said in his upbeat friendly tone, then left. You sighed and sat back in your chair, "Man, he's way to nice."

Hawks made his way upstairs to the meeting. Pushing the door open to the conference room, he was met with the eyes of the president of the HPSC. "Hey boss." He said in a slightly sarcastic tone as he sauntered in and sat down, kicking his legs up on the table that was smack bang in the middle of the room.

The president clenched her jaw slightly at Hawk's informal and somewhat unprofessional greeting. "Hawks." She said stiffly.

"What can I do for ya?" He asked in a bored tone, taking a visor off and cleaning a speck of dust from it.

"We need your assistance." The middle aged lady said as her turquoise eyes eyed the hero.

"Yeah?" He asked with a smirk, "What is it now, found someone else who dares defy you?" He asked with a sarcastic tone, putting his visor back on and staring her down. The president pursed her lips together, biting her tongue.

She needed Hawk's help, so she couldn't afford to piss him off. "It regards the family line that we've been monitoring." She said calmly.

"And?" He asked pointedly.

"Well, we think we may have found the brothers line that got away." She added.

"The family that possesses the lexical translation quirk? Okay, so what do you need me for?" Hawks asked as he lulled his head to the side, still sporting that bored expression.

"We need you to track them for us. Your quirk is ideal, you've been designed for this type of work." She said bluntly. Hawks narrowed his eyes slightly and stood up.

"What's his name?" He asked as he turned to go.

"We believe it's (F/N)" She replied.

"'Believe'? So you don't know for sure?..." Hawks asked as he looked back over his shoulder at you.

"That's what we need you for." The president said, "We need you to ensure it's him, and if it is, we'll make a move.

"Yeah, yeah..." Hawks said, holding up a dismissive hand as he left, "I'm on it." The presidents face fell as Hawks the room. He was their best agent, but he was somewhat hard to work with.

I just hope we get these quirk users under control... She sighed internally.

Back in Hawk's office he did research on Lexical translation and the wielders of this quirk, noting that a number of them had been arrested for various money-related crimes. Bit of a dodgy bunch, huh... He thought as he looked through the files. He typed your father's name into the search bar and was presented with a profile of scarce information, including a photo of your father and his work location. A number of agents documented their visitation to the business, with none being able to accurately identify your father as one of the men who had had this quirk, but all were highly suspicious. It was also noted that the man had a wife and daughter, but both of their names were unknown.

Hawks sat back and rubbed his chin thoughtfully. Hmm, best to look around and see what I can find. He thought as he looked at the clock, Whoops- not today though, gotta walk Yin to Mr. Ligma's office soon. Looking back at the computer, he was just about to close all the tabs down when he was struck by curiosity.

Reaching forward, he typed your name into the system. Your name popped up and all of your information along with it. Hawks read through the details and clicked through the subsequent pages. You were clean. No criminal record and he laughed at himself for being so silly. She's far too shy, Kid 'd never be able to break the law.

Just then an article caught his attention. You had been involved in a bus accident that made headlines when you were a teen. The interesting thing was from a well-known quirkless school, and yet witness reports indicate that someone on the bus had used a quirk that made people feel less anxious. Someone else had mentioned that they had felt better after being touched but they couldn't remember who it was.

Hawk's hummed thoughtfully and tucked that information into the back of his mind. He still believed that you had a quirk but weren't telling him who it was. The next page showed a full body X-ray that had been taken just after the bus accident to check for potential fractures, but you had been cleared with a full bill of health. As Hawks zoomed into the lower portion of the X-ray, he saw the tell-tale sign of someone that possessed a quirk. Only a single joint in the pinky toe.

He raised an eyebrow, looking at the screen. Hmm... this is interesting. He thought as he closed all the tabs down and turned off his computer.
