Jennie said yes!

We're getting married!

I'm engaged!

Did I mention that Jennie said yes?

Because she did!

Ha ha!

Woo hoo!

Yes!

Yes!

Yes!

I'm so excited!

And I just can't hide it!

I know, I know, I want Jennie!

Let's get this party started!

Oh yeah, it's my birthday, I'm going to party like it's my birthday!

Hooray!

I pity the fool that doubted Jennie's love for me.

I do!

I do!

That's exactly what I'm going to say when we exchange our vows.

So, in case you can't tell, I'm a tad overjoyed at the moment.

Just a little.

Or a lot!

Jennie Kim is going to be my wife!

Score!

We're still kissing by the way.

I'm kissing my fiancé.

Fuck yeah!

I'm going to introduce her as that any chance I get.

I'd raise my arms in celebration, but they're currently wrapped around Jennie's body.

Yay!

You'll have to excuse me, I was so nervous before I popped the question, and I'm on a bit of a high right now.

A natural one.

One that comes from Jennie saying yes.

I can't even begin to describe how on edge I was to do this. I've been planning for weeks and I've had to pretend that I haven't been.

Man, that was a tough thing to do.

But I did it!

Jennie had no idea I was asking for her hand in marriage tonight.

None!

Zero!

Zilch!

Nada!

I got her good!

In your face, Jennie!

I invited Joy, Wendy and Yeri tonight as a distraction in case she suspected anything. Jennie gets all gaga over Yeri whenever she's around, which is like the cutest thing ever.

I was a bit worried that she was getting suspicious right before she went on to perform because she was acting off. Thankfully that was just my overactive imagination reading too much into things.

There never was an accident on the freeway either.

I didn't want any members of our posse to possibly give something away about what I was about to do, so I decided their arrival had to be delayed.

My whole plan went off with out a hitch!

I fucking rule!

You don't even want to know what was in my head in the minutes leading up to the proposal and during it as well.

I was a mess inside, but outwardly I think I kept my composure.

I kept repeating "oh my god" and "fuck" and "holy shit."

But I managed to get out everything I wanted to say and convey exactly what was in my heart.

Now I'm can look back on the day Jennie first appeared in my life and say "today I met the girl I'm going to marry" and have it be true.

Three cheers for me!

Uhm.

Yeah.

I need to calm myself down.

Wait.

No I don't.

I'm getting married!

To Jennie Kim!

Damn I'm one lucky girl!

Word!

I bet Jennie is wondering why I chose such a public setting for my proposal.

The reason is two-fold.

One, we've had so much of our relationship in the public eye that asking her to marry me in front of a huge crowd felt right.

And two, I have another surprise for my fiancé.

A surprise she's going to get in about ten seconds.

I very reluctantly break our lip lock in preparation of said surprise.

"I love you, Jen," I tell her because it feels like forever since I have.

Jennie smiles at me and her eyes are still moist. "I love you too, Jisoo, so much."

Aw!

She's so sweet.

Plus her nose is crinkling.

And I'm going to be her wife.

Squeeeeeeeee!

The crowd is going crazy and I assume our family is as well, but I have to remain focused on the task at hand.

Actually, there's nothing really for me to do now except watch Jennie's reaction and bask in it.

She has no idea what's coming.

And I'm not talking about me for once.

Without warning, the arena is plunged into darkness.

Don't worry, that's what's supposed to happen.

"Oh no," I hear Jennie exclaim, and it takes everything in me not to giggle.

Poor, clueless Jennie.

She thinks something is the matter.

Just as quickly as the lights went out, they come back on.

Only this time, they're flashing and a beat has started.

Jennie's face registers shock.

I think she gets what's going on even if she doesn't quite know it yet.

I'm so sneaky.

But for a really great cause.

I wanted to give my fiancé a gift.

To show her that much like life in general, her life with me is going to be full of surprises.

Hopefully good ones.

Like this one is.

Uh huh, this is my shit. All the girls stomp your feet like this

Jennie whirls around and I clap my hands because I'm thrilled with her reaction.

A few times I've been around that track
So it's not just gonna happen like that

"No way," Jennie exclaims adorably.

Yes way, Jennie!

Yes way!

Because I ain't no hollaback girl
I ain't no hollaback girl

Instead of continuing the song right away Gwen Stefani addresses the crowd.

That's right, Gwen effing Stefani.

I called her publicist when the idea to have her perform after I proposed to Jennie entered my mind.

She and I are old friends.

Well, old friends in L.A. terms.

I explained what I wanted and I even got the chance to plead my case to the singer herself.

I might have failed to mention that I stripped and gave Jennie a lap dance to this song but I did mention that it was our song.

It may not be as romantic a selection as my parents' for example, but it's ours.

I offered to pay my new pal Gwen but she told me that she'd do it for free.

She's a really nice person and very sweet.

Not as sweet as Jennie though, just in case you think I'm crushing on anyone in the music industry besides my girl.

Blondes aren't my type anyway, Jennie is.

"How's everybody doing tonight?" Gwen asks the crowd and I assume us as well.

She gets a thunderous applause in response to her question.

I intertwine my hand with Jennie as she finally looks over at me.

I give her a huge smile that she doesn't return.

Her mouth is hanging open and I can tell she's blown away.

"It seems congratulations are in order," Gwen continues as my heart soars.

I'm really happy right now.

Actually, I'm not sure happy even covers what I'm feeling.

How could it?

I'm engaged to the most amazing girl around.

Happy doesn't even come close to what this moment feels like.

"Jennie and Jisoo, I wish you two nothing but the best. You're about to embark on a great adventure together. May your life be blessed with nothing but joy and happiness," she finishes.

Aw!

She's so awesome even if I'm still not sure what a hollaback girl is exactly.

Gwen gets back to performing so I tug on Jennie's hand to lead her elsewhere.

I do believe there are a few other people who want to extend their congratulations.

Jennie follows me but every few seconds she looks back like she can't believe what she just saw.

Aw!

She's confused and cute.

"She's going to finish your encore so we can celebrate our engagement," I whisper in Jennie's ear as we head off stage.

"How did you do all this?" Jennie asks before she stops walking all together.

"Magic," I reply with a sly grin.

And a ton of hard work.

But it was worth it.

It's always worth it when Jennie is involved.

Always.

"You're unbelievable," Jennie mutters as she shakes her head.

Uhm.

That's a good thing.

Right?

My question is answered when Jennie crashes her mouth against mine.

What a great reward!

And there's still one little part of the night that Jennie doesn't know about yet.

I swear if I didn't have a job already I'd consider joining the CIA so they could take advantage of my sneaky ways.

I love kissing Jennie, but we're still on stage and I want to see our family so we can get to the last part of our night.

It's not dinner with the gang.

That was another ruse on my part.

There was also never a homophobic jerk that was trying to exploit Jennie.

Eee hee.

I got her good!

We'll be celebrating our engagement with our family and friends tomorrow night.

Because tonight, we'll be celebrating just the two of us.

Any guesses on what we're going to be doing?

If you guessed knitting you'd be correct.

No, not real knitting.

Remember that was the code word I used...

Never mind.

Newly engaged sex.

That's how we'll be celebrating.

Oh!

Yeah!

As soon as we step off stage we're immediately surrounded by everyone wanting to say congrats.

There are hugs a plenty.

And smiles everywhere.

Everybody is talking at once and I am forced to let go of Jennie's hand.

I don't throw a fit because I know that we'll have the rest of our lives together to hold hands.

Wow.

I'm laying the sap on thick.

Oh well, I only plan on getting engaged once so I'm going to enjoy this.

Every second.

Just like I do my time with Jennie.

I watch in amusement as Hanbin lifts Jennie off her feet and squeezes her tight.

She screams at him to let her go but he doesn't.

It might seem odd, but I actually talked to Hanbin about proposing before I did it. He's really the only family, besides mine, that Jennie has so as dorky as it sounds I wanted his blessing.

He burst into tears when I called him about it.

I still can't figure out how I ever viewed him as competition.

He's gayer than Bobby.

And that's saying a lot.

Hanbin also offered to help Jennie and I plan our wedding.

So did my brother.

I'm not really sure what type of wedding the two of them would turn out so I politely declined.

From what Hanbin tells me there might be another Kim wedding in the near future but for now they're going to let Jennie and me have the spotlight.

I've grown to love Hanbin like another older brother but he's much nicer to me than my own. Plus he treats Bobby well and keeps him in line.

Not an easy thing to do.

After Jennie lost her record deal, so did Hanbin.

I never really thought about it at the time and once that news sunk in I felt really bad for him. He later confessed to Jennie that he had no desire to be a rock star.

I wasn't sure what Hanbin meant until he released his first techno dance hit.

"Papa Bear loves Goldilocks" is played in every gay club across the world I think.

So, while Hanbin might not have the fame and fortune that Jennie does, he tells everyone that he's never been happier.

Just like my fiancé, he's been pseudo adopted by my wonderful parents.

They really are something else.

They've opened up their homes to two new people with ease and acceptance.

Acceptance.

That's what my parents have given Jennie and Hanbin.

Something they never got in their childhoods but have it in spades in their adult lives.

Jennie squirms out of Hanbin's arms only to have Bobby take over for his boyfriend.

They fight almost as much as Bobby and I do but that's they way they express their love. It's to be expected really with the way Bobby picks on me and I admit it's very amusing to watch.

I don't get to see much else because my parents come over to hug me.

"You were amazing, Jisoo," my mom says to me with tears in her eyes.

My dad also looks very emotional as the three of us embrace.

It's a few minutes before I lay my eyes on Jennie again and when I do she's with Rosé.

The two of them have actually grown quite close and even though Jennie doesn't think I know, she does go to Rosé about me when she needs advice.

That's ok, I do the same thing with Hanbin.

But as time has gone on those moments have become less frequent.

Rosé and I talk all the time.

I FaceTime with Rosé before I joined Jennie on tour to keep our friendship in tact.

It has changed, but we're still tight.

Jennie is the one I run to first now and Rosé is ok with that.

She knows it would be weird and bad for our relationship if I didn't.

I've missed her terribly these last five months and I can't wait to catch up now that we're home.

She is one of the most incredible people I know and that hasn't changed.

Nothing serious ever developed between her and Irene.

Thankfully!

It's not that I don't believe Irene is a good person but she's nowhere near good enough for Rosé.

I might be biased though.

They did manage to become friends.

Not like Rosé and me but they do spend time together.

It's a good thing they do because my dad hired Irene after I left his company.

Irene may be a mega bitch but she is a great publicist.

I don't think we'll ever be friends ourselves and I'm so ok with that.

Jennie is too.

She's learned to get along with Irene but I can tell she really doesn't like her much.

When Joy and Wendy go up to Jennie I pull Rosé and Bobby away from our group.

I have a ridiculously big grin on my face but I can't help it.

I sling my arm around each of their shoulders before I begin. "I think it's safe to say that Operation Jensoo has been a complete success."

Rosé and Bobby shake their heads as they chuckle along with me.

"I'm not sure if I'd be here right now if it wasn't for you guys." I'm not just referring to their help in the beginning of our mission. Bobby and Rosé have been there for Jennie and me any time we needed them. "You mean so much to me and I just wanted to say thanks and I love you."

Bobby pulls me in for a hug first.

Aw!

He can be a nice big brother at times.

I'm about to hug Rosé when he wraps his arm around my neck and gives me a noogie.

Ass!

"Get off me, fucker," I order Bobby as he rubs his fist on top of my head.

Bobby just laughs, but before I can kick him Hanbin comes to my rescue.

I shoot Bobby a dirty, dirty look that he is unfazed by.

I guess that's his way of saying I love you too.

I'm still pissed at him but now is not the time for revenge.

Rosé and I embrace as we jump up and down.

There might also be some squealing involved.

Who cares!

I'm engaged!

To Jennie!

"I'm so happy for you," Rosé says after we pull apart.

She is.

There are no traces of bitterness or jealousy coming from my friend.

We are sisters and the bond we have is truly special.

Rosé has been there for me in even my darkest moments and there's nothing I can't say to her.

I love her a lot and I hope one day she is as happy and content as I am.

"You got the girl," Rosé smirks.

"I did," I reply with my own smirk.

I'm about to go off in search of Jennie when Rosé stops me. "I need to ask you something."

Uhm.

Ok.

She looks nervous.

I wonder what's up?

I nod my head to let Rosé know she has my attention.

Rosé looks around before she finally asks her question. "Can I bring someone to dinner tomorrow night?"

"Roseanne Park!" I loudly exclaim. "Have you been holding out on me?"

Rosé blushes as she bites her bottom lip. "I didn't want to jinx anything but I think she might be the one."

Whoa!

I did not see that coming.

I knew Rosé wasn't looking just to hook up with random people anymore but I never expected her to spring this news on me.

"Are you serious?" I scream as I hug her again.

Oh my god!

This is so exciting.

My own engagement is forgotten as I pepper Rosé with question after question about her mystery girl.

Rosé deflects my questions skillfully and all she'll say is that she's very special.

Oh!

She is holding out on me!

Damn!

I hope her girl is ready to get interrogated because that's exactly what I'm going to do tomorrow night.

What?

I have to make sure Rosé has a girl worthy of her.

Don't worry, I won't be too bad about it.

But there's this expression that Rosé's sporting that tells me she's very much in love and I'm ecstatic.

She deserves every bit of happiness that's coming her way if she really has met "the one."

I can say that from experience.

When I do find Jennie's she's standing between my parents looking extremely happy.

I manage to catch the last part of what my dad is saying to her and I understand why she's beaming.

"You're a Kim now." He tussles Jennie's hair like he does to me. "But don't worry you don't have to change your name."

Jennie chuckles and my mom rolls her eyes.

My dad isn't done though. "Just remember that means the next time you come over you'll have chores to do."

"Honestly, honey." My mom shakes her head in embarrassment. "You're not as funny as you think you are."

"Jennie thinks I'm funny," my dad playfully replies. "Don't you, Jennie?"

I rescue my fiancé before she's roped into taking sides between my parents.

"Leave her out of it," I tell my dad as I pull Jennie towards me.

I'm starting to get impatient now.

It's time for us to go.

"Why is 'Hollaback Girl' your song?" my mom innocently asks.

Jennie, Hanbin, Rosé and Bobby all burst out laughing as I blush furiously.

I'm not telling her.

And nobody else is either.

Instead I choose another course of action.

I wave goodbye to everyone before I drag Jennie to the limo that's waiting for us outside.

"What are you doing?" Jennie asks before I push her inside the car.

Ever since we got interrupted this afternoon I've been waiting for us to pick up where we left off.

I refuse to tell Jennie.

Just because I can and because it's fun.

"You're very mysterious tonight," Jennie muses as I rest my head on her shoulder. "I thought we were going for dinner."

"I know you did," I reply vaguely. "That was the point, I didn't want you to know I was proposing."

A few minutes of silence pass and then the questions come flying out of Jennie's mouth.

She better be ready to use her mouth for something else in a few minutes.

Woo!

"So this was all a set up?" she inquires once I'm done answering all the questions she flung at me. "Everybody knew?"

"Yup, everybody," I confirm with a smile that she can't see.

More silence.

"Even Joy and Wendy?" Jennie further inquires.

I reconnect our eyes and find Jennie's full of confusion. "That's right."

"But they..." Her voice trails off and I'm not quite sure why she's reacting this way. "They were so good at hiding it from me."

"I know," I say gleefully. "We all were."

Jennie pulls me on her lap and then she cups my face with both her hands. "I love you with all my heart and I can't wait to be your wife."

Swoon!

"What you did for me tonight is amazing," she continues in awe. "I still can't believe it's real."

"Oh it's real," I assure her. "Very real."

I press my lips softly against Jennie's but she doesn't let our kissing deepen.

"I can't believe you pulled it off," she whispers, but I know she doesn't mean that as an insult. "The way you spoke to me and
