"Wake up, Noah, you idiot. We can't be late on such an important day." I tried to wake my brother up for the eleventh time this morning, but he's far too lazy to wake up.

"Noah, I'm not joking; you can't miss Amelia's wedding." I paused for a moment before remembering my secret weapon.

I took a deep breath, smirked, and added, "Seriously, how can you be this irresponsible? By attending Amelia's wedding, you will be thanking her for feeding you, changing your diapers, and even..." I began counting with my fingers, but he covered my mouth with his palm.

He was now wide awake, but his cheeks had turned red from embarrassment. "Don't you dare tell anyone about this," he warned. I nodded as he spoke.

"Don't worry, it's not like I'm going to tell anyone that you promised to marry her when you were a kid," I said once he let go of my mouth. As a response, he stood up abruptly and walked to the bathroom, slamming the door shut. His reaction made me laugh.

We eventually arrived after a long drive. I had to arrive early since I was one of the bridesmaids, along with her sisters and Asher's sister Sofia.

I dressed up, applied makeup, and left the room. I haven't seen her yet since she's still getting dressed.

I slowly walked toward her room, but I ran into Cassian on the way. "Hey, Cassian!" I gave him a wave. He seemed surprised. He was probably on his way to her room to talk with her. He returned my greeting after a long silence.

I approached him and asked where he was going, and he lied, saying he was heading to the restroom. A typical lie, I must say.

"Please don't tell me you cried all night before the wedding." I meant it as a joke, but the look in his eyes and the way he kept quiet told me otherwise. "Bro, you can't be serious." Yes, I just called a famous doctor "bro".

"I can assure you that she was crazy in love with you too, but if you had returned sooner, she would have chosen you." I remarked.

I don't feel bad for him because it was her choice, plus her mom pressured her to marry him, which is definitely wrong. "You know, right person, wrong time?" I added.

"You're right. I suppose I should be happy for her; she was like a sister to me." He smiled.

"Exactly, that's what you should be doing." I gave him a thumbs up.

"How is your training going?" He asked. I always forget that we work at the same hospital.

"Good, I guess?" I forced a smile. I don't even know how to describe my life anymore.

"Don't give up; you will become a great doctor." He gave me a thumbs up, which made me laugh.

We fell into a deep silence, which gave me time to admire how handsome he looks in that suit. I also noticed the way he was staring at me, so I had to ask him. "Look, I'm not trying to make fun of you or anything, but I have a question for you." After sighing deeply, I asked, "Do you have a date for this wedding?" He shook his hand and replied no.

"Will you be my date then?" I asked, nervously. I really don't want to stay alone, especially when Noah has a date. I really want to dance with someone at my best friend's wedding.

Waiting for his response was even more exhausting. "Sure, thanks for asking." He answered.

"Great!" I said. I was screaming on the inside. I can't believe I'm going to dance with such a gorgeous man! I should definitely tell Amelia about this. He said he'd meet me in the wedding hall and then left.

When I knocked on her door, she said softly, "Come in."

When I walked in, my eyes were met with a stunning scene. She was fully dressed and alone in that room. She sat on a white sofa in her white wedding dress. She was gorgeous in every way possible. My eyes began burning once I saw her like that.

"You're a liar! You didn't keep your promise." I said, and she burst out laughing as she approached me. "You said we'd have a mixed wedding." I added, fighting back tears.

"It's not too late yet." A smile appeared on her face. "Just find yourself the perfect man in the world and a wedding dress, and then we can get married." She continued.

"There's no need to look for him. I've already found him, and he's with us today." I smirked, and her eyes widened. "Tell me everything!" She practically yelled as she spoke.

I didn't leave out any details, and she was delighted. She pulled me in for a hug and said, "I'm happy for you. You deserve the entire world."

"I think I should say that to you." I pointed at her.

"I've already heard that from you multiple times. It's finally time for you to be happy as well." She smiled as she took my hands in hers.

"Oh right, I almost forgot!" she said as she approached the dresser. She grabbed something, walked back to me, and said, "Here. Help me put this around my neck."

My eyebrows rose in surprise at what she had just stated. "I can't believe you're going to wear this on your wedding day." I said. "What? It's really special to me because you gave it to me on my birthday." She stated.

"Still, it is inadequate for this occasion." I reminded her.

"No, it's the best since it is from my best friend." She said this while handing me the necklace.

"You look especially beautiful today." I mentioned that after I helped her put on the necklace.

"Thanks. Same goes for you; that's how Cassian first started liking you." She smirked as she hit my shoulder with her elbow. Hearing his name made me blush.

Her mom approached us since it was time to begin the wedding. "Don't worry; you can do it." I gave her a thumbs up. "You know that's not going to help me at all."

She's right. "You look beautiful." I reminded her once again. "Thanks; wish me luck." She said this as she walked out of the room.

We haven't entered the wedding hall since we're still waiting for our signal. I can feel it; she's really nervous.

"Come on, Amelia; you've been waiting for this day your entire life. Pull yourself together; you're marrying your childhood sweetheart." Stella sang the last phrase.

We all burst out laughing, including Amelia. We all started calming her down, and then we got our signal. The music changed, and it was time to walk in.

"You've got this, girl." I said, resting my palm over her shoulder as the doors began to open.

We were the first to enter, followed by Lily and Luke. Luke carried the ring down the aisle to the altar, then Lily scattered the flower petals. We also wore matching white dresses, even Lily, who looked adorable, as well as Luke, who wore a super cute tiny suit. Now that I look at him, he resembles his uncle.

After Lily and Luke entered, the door closed again. As we waited for Amelia to enter, we noticed how anxious Asher was. His eyes began to water.

The song changed, and that was our signal. The entire crowd rose to their feet. She started walking down the aisle by herself, dressed in a white wedding dress, her hair in a low, curly bun, a bouquet of jasmine flowers, and a smile on her face.

Except for Asher, whose eyes shined with tears as she walked his way, we were all mesmerized by how gorgeous she looked. It was an extremely romantic scene.

She was finally in his arms as he lifted her veil. They were staring at each other, never taking their gaze back. They started whispering to each other, which we couldn't hear.

The ceremony finally began with the officiant's opening remarks, after which he addressed the couple. The officiant asked Asher first, "Asher Harper, do you take Amelia Oliver to be your lawful wedded wife?"

"I do," Asher replied.

"Do you vow to love and cherish her in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, for better for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto her, for as long as you both shall live?" said the officiant.

"I do," Asher said once more.

Then he turned to Amelia and asked, "Amelia Oliver, do you take Asher Harper to be your lawful wedded husband?"

"Yes, I do," Amelia replied.

"Do you vow to love and cherish him in sickness and in health, for richer for poorer, for better for worse, and forsaking all others, keep yourself only unto him for as long as you both shall live?" the officiant asked.

"Yes, I do," Amelia replied again.

The ring exchange went perfectly. It was finally time for the moment we'd all been waiting for. "I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride!" The officiant stated. I was watching their first kiss right in front of my eyes, and I couldn't believe how messy their kiss was.

It was time for the wedding reception. You know what's the best thing about wedding receptions? It's food, especially when it's your best friend's wedding and you both have similar tastes.

We made our entrance, and they went straight to the dance floor. As they danced, I noticed how cute they looked together, and tears ran down my cheeks. My best friend finally married her childhood love. They were laughing as they danced. It was a lovely scene.

It was time for us to dance as well. That's when I noticed Cassian approaching me. My heart rate accelerated greatly. I can't believe I'm in love with him. I can't blame myself; he's just too perfect.

"May I have the honor of dancing with you, my lady?" he asked, offering his hand. What is happening to me? "Yes, I'd love to." I can't breathe any longer. I accepted, and he led me to the dance floor.

"Just so you know, I don't remember how to dance," I admitted. "Don't worry, I'll show you how." He smirked.

He began dancing a little too fast for someone who is supposed to be teaching me. "Seriously, Cassian? Slow down." I chuckled.

"Alright," he answered, smirking. I think that staring at each other is some sort of unspoken language. His eyes were focused on me. His arm was around my waist, and there was some tension between us.

When he said, "You have a beautiful soul," I felt like I was dancing inside. We fell into a deep silence that quickly turned into a staring contest.

I felt betrayed when we stopped dancing. I craved more of his touch, stares, and everything else.

It was time for speeches. Everyone wished the couple happiness, but as for us-me, Stella, and Sofia-we embarrassed the life out of them.

The cake cutting came next, followed by the bouquet toss. Once Amelia was ready to throw it, we exchanged intense glances that meant "you better catch it." I nodded as we talked silently. I had been preparing for this for months with Amelia. She was always there for me. It was time to repay her.

She threw the bouquet, and I caught it. I started jumping out of joy. I noticed Amelia's grin from where she was standing.

This ceremony came to an end. That meant it was time for the send-off. We stood outside the wedding site in a line, waving ribbons as the newlyweds left the reception.

The couple then stood up to say their goodbyes to their parents. Amelia burst into tears while hugging her parents, sisters, and even me. Asher then wiped away her tears and hugged her, that managed to calm her down.

They both drove away, leaving us standing there. Once they were out of sight, our eyes glistened with tears.

True love was never something I or Amelia believed in. Perhaps because we never felt loved enough to call it true love. She had finally found the perfect man. After seeing their love story, I'm certain that I'll find the right man for myself.

Everyone deserves a happy ending. Amelia and Asher also reached their happy ending.
