Chapter 26 ∣  Unleashed

"You—what?" Eris' piercing electric blue eyes were suddenly wide, unsure if she had heard me correctly.

Lifting my head from my arm, I nodded and stated once again, "I love you."

Eris' eyes scanned me, shifting uneasily until she finally whispered, "You can't."

Ouch, okay...not exactly the answer I was expecting.

"Why can't I?" My eyebrows rose as she pushed herself up, so she was leaning sideways.

"There is no such thing as love when it comes to lusting after a sex demon. It can't work..." her voice was filled with sadness, a stray tear finding its way down the side of her right cheek. "Besides," she brushed the tear away, her eyes locking with mine, "Your real love is out there somewhere, just waiting for you to find her."

"That's bullshit," I growled at her. She looked away from me, her tail spiraling and then winding tightly around her left leg. "That's bullshit, and you know it."

"It's not!" She narrowed her eyes at me, her two sets of sharp teeth bared at me. "The moment you find her, I'm through and it already tears me up thinking about it. It will kill me inside the longer this carries on."

"As you can see...I'm a fucking rogue, the chance of me actually finding that individual, is highly unlikely at this point," I replied darkly.

Eris moved her legs off the bed, standing quietly as she began moving around the foot of the bed. She made her way around to my side before she exhaled slowly, placing a hand on her forehead. Any demonic trace that had once revealed itself, vanished. Her emerald eyes were glassy as the tears continued to build, ready to full on break lose.

Her small scream trailed off when I reached my arms out, grabbing her around the waist and flipping her onto her back on the bed. Her chest rose and fell steadily, my legs on either side of her hips. Her hands reached up, attempting to throw me off her, but I didn't budge. Instead, I took each of her wrists into my hands, pinning them down on the bed beside her head.

"Did what we just do, have absolutely no meaning to you?!" My muscles tensed, anger filling every fiber of my being as Eris remained silent.

What the serious fuck?!

Tears quickly fell down her cheeks, sliding back and hitting the bed covers.

"Answer me!" I hissed, my fangs elongating as I could feel the shift in my eyes.

She cried out, "It meant EVERYTHING to me!"

"Then why are you acting this way?" My grip on her wrists tightened, her body arching to get away from me while she shook her head from side to side.

"I don't want to get hurt!" She glared at me, trying to move her arms, but they were locked into place. She truly had no power in her human form and whatever she could have done to someone with a soul, had no effect on me. Maybe I was slightly angry because I wanted to be seduced by her, but I couldn't. "I don't want to hurt you..."

"How would you hurt me?" My grip slightly loosened, narrowing my eyes at her.

"How are you going to give me energy?" I had to admit; her question took me off guard. "If I can't take it from you, then I have to seek it elsewhere—that means being sexual and intimate with other people. Regardless if I mean it or not, whatever the fuck just happened, permanently opened the link to my demonic side."

"What the fuck does that mean?" Now I was just confused, yes, I understood that I couldn't give her energy...and I mean, if she took it from another woman, I guess I wouldn't mind. But what the hell is she talking about?

"This is what the fuck it means," in a split second, she transformed before my eyes, her wings lifting her off the bed and reversing our roles, my back thrust down onto the bed. She rolled her wrists, taking my wrists into her hands and locking them against the covers. I tried to lift but was met with a growl like hissing sound emanating from the back of her throat. She tilted her head to the side, her eyes transfixed on me as she brought her lips down against mine, nipping at my lower lip.

When I denied her entrance, I felt the most incredible velveteen touch stroke the length of my slowly hardening shaft. When I gasped and groaned, she darted her tongue into my mouth, exploring every inch before rubbing her tongue against mine.

What the hell is this...

The unbelievably unreal touches continued to heighten my senses, my body heating against Eris'. A burning desire I had for her, was only escalated tenfold as she continued her addicting caresses.

When her lips left mine, she stared down at me as I breathed out, "Eris-"

"I love you Maverick. I love you so much that it hurts to think about not having you in my life. I know I need to learn to control these new impulses, but knowing you are with me helps me immensely," the emotion that came from her, had me feeling guilty now.

Wait...impulses?

"What I'm-...fuck!" I groaned, Eris having released her hold on my wrists and slid down my body, her eyes mischievous as she licked from the base of my hard shaft up to the tip and swirled it flat against the head. Flicking her tongue across the head once more, she took me into her mouth, licking and sucking on me gently.

"Shit!" I felt myself hit the back of her throat before she began to slide me down her throat, my muscles tensing and shaking at the feeling of her warm mouth wrapped around me. When she began to bob her head up and down my shaft, I thought I was about to lose all control, giving in to her.

Of course...she's a sex demon...but I brought this out of her? I'm not sure whether to be proud of that or scared.

Her tongue working me over had my breathing uneven, I hadn't felt my heart beat this fast in a while. I knew I was getting close, and the last thing I wanted to do was finish like this, as the incubus who used her would force this upon her.

"Er-Eris, stop," I breathed out, growling slightly when I felt her lower herself all the way down my shaft.

Damn it! Eris...I can't do this to you.

When I went to reach for her, I was attacked by her tail, entwining around my forearm and immobilizing me. Attempting to lean closer, my arm was thrown down to my side, her tail holding more power than I thought it would.

"Eris, please," my shaft twitched, and I knew I couldn't hold out much longer.

She stopped.

Eris gazed up at me as removed my length from her mouth and whispered, "I want to do this. I want to please you, just as you did for me. Please, let me show you, my love, as well."

Not for a moment had I thought about it that way. I was so worried and conflicted with her past experiences, I didn't want her to feel like she had to do this. While I had been second-guessing myself, she had been displaying her love and devotion to me, gaining nothing for herself. I can't believe how much I just want to be with this woman...she's riveting, intriguing me to further understand exactly what she is.

"My vixen," I smiled at her and threw my head back as she took my full length down her throat, humming and sucking harder. I became lost in her sweeping motions, my eyes closing briefly as I still couldn't believe that she wanted to do this.

As I had already been close, it didn't take her that long before my shaft throbbed, pulsating as I felt myself become harder, right before I shot my warm seed down the back of her throat. Eris chocked for a second, and my eyes shot open as I looked down at my vixen, her eyes wide for a moment before she released me from her warm mouth.

Fuck it...I want us to bind...but I can't...

Eris rose up, crawling up the bed on my right side. Once she lowered herself down onto her side and snuggled next to me, she wrapped her arm around my waist. Her nose buried into my chest, her leg intertwining with one of mine.

"I love you, Maverick...even if we can't truly be together," her sweet voice was just above a whisper, holding onto me tighter, afraid I would leave.

Don't worry sweetheart, I'll never leave you.

I promise.

My love is all for you and no one else.

I'd even stop senselessly killing people, just for you. I don't want you dragged into anything else on my account. In fact, now that we are being completely honest, and you're not hiding from me...maybe I shouldn't be hiding from you.

"Eris," I brought my right arm around her, pulling her closer to me, her skin brings me warmth and a slight electrical current traveling through my top layer of skin.

Her beautiful eyes gazed up at me, her chin resting on my chest.

"I'm not going to hide anymore either," my voice drifted off, my own demons seeming to have caught up to me.

She looked perplexed, arching an eyebrow as she stated, "What the fuck are you hiding? You're really a magical unicorn trapped in the body of a pureblood that went rogue?"

I needed that.

Chuckling softly, I replied, "That would be something, now wouldn't it?"

She rolled her eyes, scoffing at me, "Come on, tell me you have another magical horn."

I roared with laughter, enjoying having my Eris back the way she was.

"Pft, right," I smirked at her, "No. But I do want to show you something tomorrow."

She gasped, "What fucking time is it? What day is it? Damn it...I bet Brice is going to fire me..."

Really? After everything she had been through, she was worried about losing her job. This woman...she'll be the death of me.

"No, the sun just rose and you can go back to work tonight if you really want to go back there...I mean...yea, your boss was worried about you, but you don't need to work there anymore if you don't want to," I replied, waiting for her response.

"I'll damn well work wherever I want to, you don't own me, bitch," she teased, snaking her tail closer to my inner thigh.

My grip on her tightened as I growled, "Watch it, or I'll show you just how powerful and unforgiving I can be."

"Please," she huffed, her tail retracting just in case I hadn't been lying. "What do you want to show me?" Her curious face looked me up and down, wondering what it could possibly be.

Settling down into the covers, I smirked, "It's a secret."
