" 1 billion smiles but your's is my favorite ."

-Skylar Torres
=============
SKYLAR⚓️

It's been three days since I left , my phone vibrating almost every 5 minutes with messages from Gabriel, asking about my whereabouts along with a set of news.

...Jeremy is awake, conscious, alive, breathing. waiting for me.

But a small part of me is afraid of seeing Jeremy, afraid to see how he reacts especially after I shot him.
Will he be disappointed in me?

Will he still love me as much?

Does he want me in his life?

Insecure thoughts flooded my mind over the past days, causing me to ignore Gabriel's messages.
Being detached from my phone, I brought myself to write- let my emotions free like a gush of wind.

Instead of music, I put my emotions in words. The live band that played in the cafe definitely helped me through this.

With my usual mocha frappe in my hand, I tapped the pen on the table in thought.
Something didn't feel right.

"Hey, how'd you doing?" Flynn sat on that chair opposite mine.

"Writing is tough but...interesting." I tried to be positive as I rested my head against the table, exhausted from writing about the incidents that happened since the match.

"Sorry I can't help much." He smiled sheepishly. I sometimes wondered why Willow broke up with him, he seemed genuinely nice.

"Don't say that! The live band in your cafe helps me, I never knew many people in this town are good at singing. " I smiled up at him.

"Oh I've seen better." Flynn snickered, his fingers running through his hair as he leaned back.

"Really?" I leaned forward, with an arched eyebrow.

"Yeah he's actually up next, you might wanna check him out, he may just be your new competition." Flynn stood up with a smug look.

Scrunching my nose, I gave him a look of disagreement. The lights that shone on the stage went down low, a chair placed in the center. My eyes followed the shadowy figure that sat on the chair with a guitar held in position.

I couldn't quite see his features but they seemed sharp, and beautiful despite the lack of light.

His eyes stared down on his guitar, his fingers slowly strum a familiar tune. A tune I knew too well.

I caught a glimpse of the slight smirk on his lips, as if he accomplished something great.

His Nikes tapped against the floor, creating a rhythm that grabbed everyone's attention almost immediately. The hum that he did ever so smoothly, did perfect for the introduction.

The tune was the same, now I had to just wait till he sings, if the words are the same-

"...Loving can hurt
Loving can hurt sometimes
But it's the only thing that I know
When it gets hard
You know it can get hard sometimes
It is the only thing that makes us feel alive" his voice poured out like a gentle river, and every time he used 'th' words his tongue would glide beautifully over his perfect teeth and emit an adorable bit of air.

The lights were still dim. But my emotions were raging.
That is my song! How did he get it? He's making an entire remix out of it!

He finally lifted his eyes to the crowd, but it landed directly on me as if he knew where I was. Only then did his ocean blue eyes meet my emerald ones.

My heart stopped beating, my lips slightly ajar.

No, that can't be Jeremy.
It just can't. I stood up, not believing my very own eyes.

The lights became brighter each second, every inch of him coming into view-his slender body frame to his broad shoulders to his crystal blue eyes to his dirty blonde hair that made it seem like he just woke up from bed and not forgetting, his million dollar smile.

It's him. Jeremy.

The same Jeremy I shot, the same Jeremy I fell in love with, and the same Jeremy that came back for me each time.

With his eyes never leaving mine, he stood up swiftly. His fingers running over the guitar strings as if he practiced every night.

" We keep this love in a photograph
We made these memories for ourselves
Where our eyes are never closing
Hearts are never broken
Times forever frozen still..." His voice was so warm and comforting even the stingiest of strangers would immediately warm up to him.

Our lips were inches away, his eyes held mine even after he finished with people applauding.

"You have a lot to ex-" before I could finish, he hugged me tightly, leaving gentle kisses on my head.

His guitar hung on his shoulders as he held my waist close to him. My hands raked his hair, realizing how much I missed him.

"I found you." He said softly, happiness evident.

"And I'm sorry."

"For what?" He frowned with a smile, the other people around us went back to sipping on their coffee.

"For shooting you, for-" he placed his finger on my lips, shushing me, shaking his head with his eyes shining, almost tearing up.

"Don't ever say that. After you shot me, it just proved how much more you love me. You believed what I told you, that I'll still be in your heart as long as we love each other. It just proved how much more you love me Sky." His fingers carcass my cheeks.

"Jeremy...I-I was so worried cause...I-I love you so much, and I just can't bare to lose you."

"You'll never lose me." His eyes scanned my face, his blonde hair brushing my forehead. He led me out of the cafe where there was much less of an audience.

With my hands around his waist , I rested my head on his chest, on his beating heart.

"How did you learn to play the guitar so well?" I asked smoothly.

With his chin against my head, I felt a chuckle rumble through his chest.

"All this time, I actually knew how to play the guitar." Pushing him away, a playful smile made its way to my lips.

"So throughout all my lessons, you just faked it?! Why?"

"You wouldn't have spent time with me. And without that, we wouldn't have had our first kiss, am I right? Plus, I enjoyed seeing you get frustrated when I couldn't strum properly." He wore a proud smirk.

"Let's also not forgot how you stole my song, you took my song book didn't you?" I accused.

"Well, you took my book. I had to make it fair." He countered back.

"You're still the same competitive boy from the start." I folded my arms across my chest, mirroring his expression.

"You mean the same competitive boy you fell in love with." He corrected, pulling me close to him by my waist.

Just taking a moment to admire my forest green eyes, he hooked a strand of my hair behind my ear. His touch never failing to leave me wanting for more.

"So, have you thought of a good ending to our love story?" He eyes fell on the book, 'Strange Attraction', which was in my hand.

"I did, and it might just be better than your singing stun you pulled."

"Really? And what is it?" He challenged, not believing my words.

"This." I threw the book to the ground before I wrapped my arms around his neck, pressing my lips on his ever so gently.

He melted right into the kiss, our eyes closed, enjoying each second which seemed like forever.

There we were, the once enemies, kissing outside my favorite cafe, in a town consumed with secrets. And maybe it's true, opposites do attract cause deep down, they are more similar than they think they are...
