" I've actually met an angel in person."

-Jeremy Lockhart
=============
SKYLAR⚓️

Peeling his hands off my eyes, I scanned my surroundings. It looked exactly like it was the last time we came here — wavy grass swaying with the breeze, the moon shining with the constellation of stars spread across the entire dark sky.

"Isn't this the place we..."

"Had our first kiss." He completed my sentence.

A small part of me hated how it always seemed like he was putting in more effort to mend this relationship than I was. I liked him but with the way I was acting, people would assume it's a one sided relationship.

Maybe it is because I'm never the best at expressing my emotions, I couldn't even remember the last time I cried hard.

Patting the grass patch beside him, I sat down in anticipation.

"I've realized something..." he looked at me with a weak smile.

"Is this your way of taking me on a date?" I gave him a cheeky smile.

"Well, that depends on how you look at it. I realized that I've been unfair over the past week or so. "

I frowned with my lips pouted, "How?"

"Skylar, I'm not gonna even lie, I like you and I just want to uncover you like one of my books but I know that I can't force you into doing something like that so...I propose an idea."

"I'm listening, go on"

"I've been thinking...maybe by getting to know each other better, we would be able to trust and be more comfortable each other." He sounded genuinely interested and cheerful.

I strum his guitar softly, calming my nerves almost immediately.

"...I agree." My words even shocked myself.

"You do?!"

"Don't let me change my mind, so how does this work?" I knew I sounded utterly bored, but I actually never liked the idea of someone unwrapping me layer by layer.

Choking slightly, he beamed in accomplishment.

"Ask me anything you desire, m'lady!" He leaned forward, his breath fanned against my cold lips, "I'm an open book."

The wind caused his blonde fringe to brush across my forehead, his blue eyes swirling with challenge. He looked like an angel, but had eyes of a devil–fearless and mysterious. He wasn't joking, he actually grew his family jewels to tell me any of his secrets.

I had to pinch myself, just to make sure I wasn't dreaming. However, I didn't want to rush into it.

"Fine...why do you love looking at the stars?" I shrugged, watching his face fall before recovering quickly.

"When I was small, I hated being alone in the dark. So before I went to bed, my mother always left the windows open, saying 'I'll never leave you munchkin, you can always find me in the stars.' When my mum and sister passed away, I'll look up every night and find the two brightest stars – they are those two stars, watching over me." His spoke with so much passion that it took my breath away.

As much as I was a puzzle to him, Jeremy was also a mystery for me and somehow, I felt like I unlocked a small door in him.

" They are definitely proud of you, looking at the things you've achieved already...What's you favourite colour?" I placed my hand over his which rested freely in the grass.

"I used to have a hardcore love for the colour blue, but now...I think I might just be obsessed with moss green." He looked into my eyes with a slight tip at the corner of his lips.

Trying to ignore the self consciousness and shivers I felt, I had to ask him the question he hated the most.

"Where do you go every Saturday?" My question caused him to chuckle. He casts me that same look the first time I saw him in literature class.

Those soulful eyes that said words he would never ever say out loud, but here I was, at the edge of entering his world of unknown.

"I want you to keep an open mind about this...okay Sky?" He turned his body towards me with his fingers in mine, he looked...vulnerable.

I nodded promisingly, my heartbeat beating wildly, it felt as if the world around us stopped spinning.

"A year ago, I was introduced to this wrestling arena because I was in need of money. I needed to pay up for school, I was desperate you have to believe me. I told myself I would stop after I won a few matches but it went on–"

"You got addicted to disfiguring people's faces?" I cut in, and he shook his head in disagreement.

"Remember when I told you that I knew a way to get my dad out of prison, well these wrestling matches could. I left out the part that Bronze Eagles is not only a mafia gang, but also are in charge of these wrestling matches—it's where they get their members. So I came up with a plan since last year, and I'm hell bent on making sure it works. Basically, Bronze Eagles only accepts the overall champion of those matches.. I have to become champion, so that I can become a Bronze Eagle member."

"Why do you want to become one?" I bombarded.

"Because...someone in that gang killed my mum and sister, I've been watching those gang members and they all have that bronze eagle necklace or eagle tattoo on their fists. If I'm able to find out and get prove or confessions of whom committed that murder, my dad would be free."

"Are you sure, you wouldn't end up killing that person once you find out who?"

"I can't promise you that I wouldn't lay a finger on him." He casted me a smirk.

"Wait...so whoever who has that eagle necklace is a member of that gang?" I confirmed, awaiting his answer.

"Yes, why're you asking?"

"That means...Dante is a member." I concluded but Jeremy didn't seem too surprise as I was.

"Now that that's cleared, I guess you know why I'm dating Emily." His words blew me away, I couldn't understand why my heart felt warm and contented.

"You didn't love her...you only did it to get information about Dante and Bronze Eagles."

"Can you imagine how torn I was? I wanted to make you mine the moment I saw you, but I couldn't because it would blow my entire cover an–" His breath hitched when I pulled his face close to mine, our lips mere inches away.

"Jeremy, you don't need to explain yourself...cause I-I love you, I love you so darn much." I smiled as I watched his eyes sparkle with pure adoration.

Like a dream, my lips met his.

No words could describe how much love and desire I felt at the pit of my stomach. This kiss was different, everything would be different from now onwards. This time, my world exploded into shards of molten light. His grip tightened across my shoulders, pulling me into him, pressing himself onto me.

I felt his entire universe— his hands caressing me gently, felt the pull of his constellations of stars, simply every flaw he had. I didn't care.  My lips melded into his, the arctic chilly breeze forgotten. The tip of his tongue brushed my lips, welcoming the sensual kiss that sent a wildfire of searing flames racing through my  body.

I held onto him with some alternative universe of longing.

In that moment, I knew he belonged to me.

And I belonged to him.
