☆☆Tiny Mistake and A Fall Out☆☆

There Jimin sat at the back of the Chinese restaurant where he works, observing the empty-looking brick walls opposite their building and just simply breathing. But even that seemed too hard to do now.

The past few days had taken a toll on him and he feels more tired than usual. And that's not a very good sign considering that he doesn't get tired easily, he can't. But his body was already the one giving him signals to stop torturing himself from too much work that's unnecessary. His muscles had grown stiff and even his feet don't have the energy in the morning to even lift himself up from the bed.

It was almost three days now after he had a breakdown from the hospital's incident. Those three days felt horrible, as if all of the stitches he's been trying to hide had all reopened to remind him how fresh his scars are still. How his wounds still ache to the point where his whole being could feel it again.

He couldn't eat properly during those past days but he forced himself to, not wanting to worry his son for the state he was currently in. He tries to look strong and happy, like nothing was wrong so Minwoo would not feel his burden. That's the last thing he would want to happen. He didn't even tell what happened to his best friend and he acts like everything's okay, like he's still functioning properly although his mental state is really in haywire. He also apologized to Jungkook from acting rude that day when they went to that part of their neighborhood and had explained that he was just tired.

But what he doesn't know though, was the fact that Jungkook could feel him distancing himself. The younger had been on edge the past three days, he felt too itchy to ask Jimin if he did something wrong because he knew he wasn't just overreacting. He could really feel the change in Jimin's demeanor towards him. And it was no surprise that he was also sulking to the Kim brothers about it too.

'He finally felt your dick always twitching in your pants whenever you see him so felt grossed out,' Taehyung told Jungkook only to earn a smack on his head.

'It's because your gayness screamed obvious,' Seokjin followed but frowned when it was Taehyung who scoffed at what he said. His younger brother still doesn't forgive him and it's almost a week now.

"I could hear all your thoughts all the way inside, Jiminie." Jimin flinched on where he was sitting, his body turning towards the back door only to see Mr. Xiao smiling at him. "Got a lot of worries?" His boss asked as he shooed Jimin so the latter could make space for him on that old wooden bench.

Jimin relaxes once he feels his boss' company, his shoulders sagging as he momentarily stared on his fingers that were clasped on his thighs. "It's nothing Mr. Xiao, really. I just. . . feel tired these days." He replied with a low and dispirited voice.

Mr. Xiao's eyes were fixated on him, his eyes unbelieving Jimin's words. Even a blind person who couldn't see would know that what Jimin said was a lie, it was the tone of his voice that gave him away. Jimin sounds discouraged, almost miserable. And Mr. Xiao wasn't used to Jimin being that way because Jimin never shows any signs of weariness. He never allows anyone to see himself that way.

But today was different. Because even though Jimin wouldn't say it, anyone could tell just by looking at his state right now.

"You're not a very good liar Jiminie, you know? I could tell there's something you're worried about just by looking." Mr. Xiao replied, patting Jimin's hair. Jimin glanced back with a smile unfamiliar, all warmth and softness gone. It looked dull and empty.

"And I told you to stop calling me Mr. Xiao. It sounds like I'm some forty-year-old grandpa when in fact I'm only four years older than you." That made Jimin stifle a laugh and Mr. Xiao smiled in return, bringing his hands on the side of his thighs.

"So?. . . What's up? Mind telling me what's running in that pretty head of yours?" Mr. Xiao asked and Jimin breathes softly, unsure if he should say it. Of course, it's not because he doesn't trust his boss who also acts like an older brother to him. He always tells the latter if something's bothering him about raising Minwoo, his insecurities about raising a child alone. Mr. Xiao also knew that he's a single father but Jimin never really told him why he was raising Minwoo alone in the first place. It was Hoseok who only knew and well, Jungkook.

Jimin gnawed on his lower lip, his eyes staring back at his boss who was urging him to trust him. That's why he did, he decided to speak.

"I think I saw my, um," He finds the words to describe the person but he couldn't find an appropriate one to describe that person now. "Him. . ." he decided to say instead and Mr. Xiao seemed to understand, nodding his head and respecting why Jimin chose to not directly tell the person's name.

"Is it a good thing?" Mr. Xiao asked, Jimin's eyes dithering at his question.

"No," was Jimin's immediate reply. "I don't even know what brings him here." His voice fades, his fists clenching just remembering his face. He's not too sure either if that's really the person who abandoned him when he needs him the most but a part of him also recognized that face. How can he ever forget?

"I don't even want to know but I'm--"

"Scared," His boss finished for him and they both shared a look, Mr. Xiao's eyes also looked earnest. "You fear the thought that that person might be after you or Minwoo, that he might be here because of that reason." Mr. Xiao knows that he was right. Because Jimin's eyes wavered as if he was a deer that got caught in the headlights.

Jimin nodded, his eyes in a downcast. He feels like crying, the dampness prickling his eyes wanting to flood his cheeks but he doesn't let it. "I don't want to see him. I don't want Minwoo to get hurt because of him." Jimin's voice was trembling and he gulps to keep the lump on his throat from choking him.

"Then don't let him." Mr. Xiao pronounced earning Jimin's attention, "You don't have to see him again if you don't want to. And I know more than anything that you won't let him hurt Minwoo. . . Of course, you won't." Mr. Xiao chuckles lightly before he continued. "Because when it comes to Minwoo, you always become this protective mother bird who would claw at anyone that might possibly bring harm to its hatchling."

Jimin finds himself smiling faintly, his boss' words comforting him. "Thank you, Zhan-hyung." He voiced out as his boss ruffles his hair softly, smiling back at him.

Jimin's phone chimed with a text message. He fished it out from the pocket of his uniform and he sees that it was a text from his best friend. His chest immediately thumps, thinking that something might happen to Minwoo since Minwoo's class was canceled that day and he is supposed to be with Hoseok.

Jimin opened the message in panic and reads it only to see that there's nothing to worry about.

==================

From: Cutie Hobi 🌻(Don't ask him why it was Hoseok's name on his phone. His best friend was the one who whined for him endlessly just to input that.)

11: 40 - Chim! I'm sorry I forgot to tell you earlier but now it's my break and I only remembered now. I'm texting you to tell you that Minwoo's with Jungkook. I'm sorry, I know I'm supposed to babysit that bundle of fluff but something came up with my other job and I was really needed. I called Jungkook because I was in a rush.

I'm sorry, Chim. I hope you're not mad, please forgive Hobi-Hobi :(((

==================

After reading his best friend's message, all Jimin did was giggle. Hoseok's really such a worrywart sometimes and a drama queen. Of course, Hoseok could be busy and he wouldn't blame his hyung for having a life of his own. He actually feels more sorry that Hoseok now thinks that it's his own responsibility to always be with Minwoo when he can't be.

Usually, when things like this happen, Hoseok would bring Minwoo to the restaurant so the kid wouldn't be alone at home. Jimin was a little surprised that Hoseok called Jungkook first this time.

He replied to Hoseok so his best friend wouldn't worry anymore, even scolding Hoseok and telling him that he was an idiot for even thinking that he'll get mad for simply having a life. Then he texted Jungkook, wanting to check on Minwoo.

His phone chimes after a mere few seconds and a bright smile painted his lips after seeing the picture Jungkook sent him.

From: Jungkook-ssi 🐰 (It was an obvious reason why Jimin used the bunny emoji. He still laughs at it every time he will compare the emoji and Jungkook.)

11:43 - He's busy pigging out. He asked me to get everything in the buffet earlier but how could I possibly put everything on his plate?
(ノ_<。)

I mean, just look at him eat! Someone even asked me if I've been starving him and you wouldn't believe how much that lady almost called me out for being such a bad father. Thank God, I regained my panicked state and explained that that's not the case at all.
(╥_╥)

==================

Jimin laughed after reading Jungkook's rants. But after just a second, Jungkook sent him another picture of Minwoo.

11:44 - Help.

He's eating everything. He just stole my plate because he said it looks delicious. And he used that puppy eyes again, Jimin! That eyes

To whom did he even learn that from?!
(눈_눈)

==================

Jimin giggled heartily making his boss curious so the latter peeks at his phone and also smiled when Jimin showed him those pictures of Minwoo that Jungkook sent him.

Mr. Xiao cooed at Minwoo, telling Jimin that he missed the kid and he should bring him to the restaurant sometimes so he could spoil him too in which Jimin disagreed, telling his boss not to turn Minwoo into a brat.

They both laughed at each other and cooed at Minwoo more before Jimin's phone chimed once again with another message. This time, Jimin wasn't aware of the next picture that Jungkook sent so it was Mr. Xiao who first saw it, causing a grin to crawl on his lips at the message he saw.

"Ooh~ Did you replace Hoseok without telling me?" Mr. Xiao asked with an obviously teasing tone, wriggling his eyebrows and confusing Jimin from what he's talking about. When Mr. Xiao pointed at the phone, Jimin checked it and his face flushed, his cheeks feeling warm.

Jungkook sent him another picture.

A selfie.

And this time it was Jungkook's face that was on the screen.

11:45

Don't worry, I'll feed our son well.

==================

Jimin's eyes widened even more when he read the text that Jungkook sent after the selfie.

Our son, Jungkook said.

He was sure that it was a typo because why the hell would Jungkook even say that?! But although he knew that it was a mistake, he still can't help but feel the heat from his cheeks to crawl up until it reached his ears and neck. He remembered feeling the same embarrassment during that time when Jungkook's silver bracelet got caught on the zipper of his jeans.

He immediately shakes his head. He shouldn't even be thinking about that now!

And his hunch got confirmed when after a few whiles, his phone chimed again and it was another text from Jungkook.

==================

From: Jungkook-ssi 🐰

11: 45- OH MY GOD, IT WAS THE AUTO-CORRECT!

IT WAS MEANT TO SAY 'YOUR SON'!

I SWEAR TO GOD I TYPED 'YOUR', JIMIN!!!

==================

Jimin already knew that but he's still calming himself down as he soon types a reply to Jungkook telling the latter that it was okay and not to think too much about it (although he's actually the one who's thinking too much about it). He also replied that they should enjoy their lunch and to tell Minwoo that he missed him.

After the exchange of messages, Jimin sighed heavily, knowing that his boss had been staring at him with a teasing smile all along.

"So? Is that the new Daddy?" Mr. Xiao asked with another wriggle of his eyebrows.

Jimin's eyes widened, the embarrassment seeming to come back to his face and he fastly shakes his head, waving both his hands to reject the idea. "N-No! It wasn't-it wasn't like that! It's not what you're thinking, hyung!" Jimin explained in a hurry but he could still see his boss leaning back on the wall behind them and chuckling, staring at him with malice.

"What exactly do you think I'm thinking right now, Jiminie?" Mr. Xiao asked with another smirk, his arms crossed on his chest enjoying how flushed Jimin looks. And Jimin blinks his eyes, the need to explain was long forgotten as he now frowned and pouted.

"You're trying to make me say something you'd like to hear," Jimin sulked with his lips pressing against each other, his cheeks puffing out. Mr. Xiao laughs at Jimin's cuteness, seeing Minwoo having the same look. No wonder Jimin is Minwoo's father. They could both look adorable with any facial expression.

"Isn't that the guy from before? You know, the potato wedge guy?" Mr. Xiao started, placing his thumb and index finger below his chin thinking, remembering about this guy that Jimin told to be someone who's been helping him take care of Minwoo. He didn't pay too much attention to it before, thinking that it was just another good friend of Jimin that he trusted with Minwoo. He didn't know that the guy would turn out to look like that. To look someone like Jungkook.

Even Mr. Xiao knows a handsome guy when he sees one.

"Also, you didn't tell me that the babysitter you're talking about would look like that guy on your phone. If I had known I wouldn't even let you work overtime so you could go straight home and, you know. . . do things you're only supposed to do at night." Mr. Xiao told with insinuation behind his words making Jimin frown because he's not that innocent to not know what his boss was hinting on.

Jimin scoffed at his boss before he rolled his eyes. "When I told you that it's not like that, I really mean it, hyung. And Jungkook isn't a babysitter. I told you many times that he's just being nice that's why he's helping me with Minwoo." Jimin explained with his eyebrows furrowing, wanting his boss to understand his point.

Mr. Xiao then shrugged, the silly smile on his lips not leaving his features. He stands up and told Jimin to come inside after his break but halts when he finally reached the back door, turning his head for Jimin to see another smile on his lips that doesn't mean good news.

"That Jungkook guy must be really an angel. I mean. . . aren't you even curious why he's doing all of that without asking anything in return?" Mr. Xiao stares up acting like he's thinking before he stares back again at Jimin's now baffled eyes, "Oh, right. Because like you said, he just wants to help. . . He must have a lot of time in the world to do that, don't you think?"

Jimin blinked profusely, letting his boss' words to sink into him. Mr. Xiao almost laughs at the expression that was plastered on Jimin's face. But he dropped his demeanor and decided to say something else.

"And I do hope that you also know who you're letting into your life, Jiminie." He advised before he finally walked in the back door leaving Jimin outside to think.

Once he stepped inside his restaurant, the smile that once grazed his lips was now gone. A serious look replacing his soft expression from before as he remembered the image of Jungkook.

Because I know too well that that guy isn't someone who has the luxury to be wasting his time in this city in the first place. . . His time is worth more than what you think, Jimin. He wants to add but decided not to.

He's a Jeon after all.

---------------------------------------------------------

Jungkook drops his forehead on the table in front of him, the wooden surface making a loud thud and clanks from the plate and utensils, even startling Minwoo.

He wants to bury himself alive for doing something so idiotic. He's so embarrassed about accidentally sending Jimin a text like that. Why the fuck did he not even read it first before tapping that send button?!

"Ahjussi. . . did the food make you sleepy?" He hears Minwoo asking him from the other side of the table since they're seating face to face. "You can't sleep here, Ahjussi! I can't carry you home but I also don't want to leave you here."

Jungkook lifted his head up, his chin placed on the table as he stares at the kid who was staring at him curiously. The kid's lips were surrounded by grease from eating messily, even his nose got some sauce from the turkey he ate. Jungkook sighed and straightened himself up from his seat, forgetting his embarrassment and reaching for a tissue to wipe Minwoo's face clean.

"I should teach you next how to eat properly, little chimp. You can't possibly feed your nose your whole life." Jungkook noted with his eyes focused on wiping all the mess on Minwoo's face. He was using that 'little chimp' nickname once again since they were alone. But if Jimin was there
