3 MONTHS LATER

"We're leaving in ten minutes!!" I yelled out of my bathroom door. I walked back over to the mirror and quickly put in my diamond studs.

"Baby." I turned around to see August standing behind me. "Can you do this for me." He said, holding his tie. I chuckled and walked over to him, beginning to tie his tie for him.

"Thank you." He pecked my lips, causing me to smile. Ever since we started our couples conseling three months ago, things have been going pretty smoothly. We still have our bad days, but we're a work in progress. Right now we're on the road to recovering our relationship, and that's all that matters to the both of us.

"Is Aliyah dressed?" He nodded. "Yeah, all she has to do is put on her shoes?" I ran some ligloss over my lips and nodded. "Ok good, go help put them on, and make sure she puts on those dressy socks I layed out on the bed."

He nodded. "And is AJ back yet? We have to leave soon." He sighed. "Nah, Ariana called and said she was on the way back, but it's taking her so damn long." I sighed and slightly rolled my eyes.

"Ok, don't worry, Im sure he'll be here, did she make sure he bathed? Because all he has time to do is change his clothes." He nodded. "Yeah, she did."

"Good." Just then, the doorbell went off, signaling that Ariana and AJ was here. "You want me to get it?" I shook my head no.

"No, go help Aliyah with her shoes, and I'll get AJ dressed really quick." He nodded. "Ight, I'll meet you down stairs." I walked out of the bathroom and grabbed my purse.

"By the way." I started. "You look good in that tux." He chuckled. "Alright na, don't start nothin you can't finish." I laughed and shook my head, before making my way downstairs.

I sped walked to the front door and looked out the peep hole, just to make sureit was AJ and Ariana. I quickly opened the door and smiled once I seen him standing there with his overnight back.

"Hey Miss Simone." He grabbed onto my legs, giving me a hug. "Hey AJ, you ready to go the wedding?" He nodded. "Yeah!" I chuckled. "Alright, go upstairs and start changing." He nodded before taking off up the stairs.

I turned to Ariana, who was still standing in the doorway. "....Thank you for bringing him back."

"Well I am his mother, it's my job too." She said. "Right.......Alright well...bye." I let out a weak smile before closing the door. Even after all these months Ariana still had a problem with me. She wouldn't even pretend to like me infront of AJ, which bothered me more than anything. I was way passed my issues with Ariana, she was the only one still holding onto them.

I sighed and held onto my dress before making my way upstairs to AJ's room. I could her Aliyah trying to persuade August to letting her wear a different pair of socks, causing me to chuckle to myself.

I pushed open AJ's door and smiled once I seen him, struggiling to get his shirt over his head. "You need some help?" He froze in place with his hands over his head and nodded.

I walked over to him and helped him get his shirt off. "I think the neck hole is to small." I chuckled. "I think your head is just really big." He frowned and touched his head. "It's okay, you get it from your daddy."

"Arms up."He held his arms up, letting me pull the shirt over his head. "Alright, put on your jacket and your pants and I'll clip on your bowtie." He nodded.

".....Aren't you gunna close youe eyes so I can change?" I chuckled and placed my hands over my eyes. "Ok, go ahead."

I stood there for a few seconds until he told me it was Okay. I grabbed his small jacket off the bed and helped him put it on. "You like your suit?"

He nodded. "Yeah, I look like a spy." I laughed. "You sure do."

I stood up straight and looked him up and down. "Ok, put on your shoes and I'll meet you donwstairs."

"Ok." I walked out of his bedroom and closed the door behind myself. I walked down the hallway to Aliyah's room and pushed the door open. "But daddy, these socks are ugly."

"I know princess, but you gotta put them on." I smirked. "You think the socks I picked out are ugly?" Aliyah nodded.

"Yeah, they're have big ugly ruffles on it." August chuckled. "But they match your dress Li-Li, it would look really cute, right August?"

He nodded. "Yeah it would." She looked between the both of our faces and huffed. "Fine, I'll put on the ugly socks." I nodded. "That's my girl."

"Are you excited baby?" I leaned up agaisnt the window smiling. "I can't believe Kerri's getting married today, it seem like her and Jason started dating yesterday."

"Yeah I know." He said lowly. "I wonder if his parents are gunna be there, Kerri was telling me how they missed there flight yesterday."

He was silent. Once I realized he wasn't saying much back to me, I turned my head and glanced over at him. "What you doing?" He quickly looked up from his phone that was placed on the opposite side of him and shook his head.

"Nothing, just checking my email." I lifted a brow. "Your checking your email right now? He nodded. "You know me, Im always thinking about work." He smiled and reached over, touching my chin.

"Aye, you know what food they gon have there? Cause Im starting to get hungry." He asked me. I knew he was trying to change to subject, but I just brushed it off.

"Yeah um, Ellis' cousin is owns a soul food resturant, and she's catering." He nodded. "Why it had to be one of Ellis' family members? Atleast I know the food will be good." He chuckled.

He leaned back into his seat and started driving again once the light turned green. "Mommy." I turned around and looked at Aliyah and AJ, who were in the backseat.

"Can we listen to our CD?" I softly sighed and nodded. "Yeah sure, which one?"

"The Frozen one." I sighed, pulling it out of the door. I carefully took the CD out of the case and put it into the player. Once the music started, they both began to sway back and forth and sing along to the whole song.

I sat back in my seat, preparing myself for a long ride.

I smiled to myself as I watched some of the couples join Kerri and Jason on the dance floor, while they enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife.

I wiped the corners of my eyes, not wanting to cry since that's all I did during the reception. "You wanna dance?" I looked over my shoulder to see August standing up, holding his hand out.

I chuckled. "You don't dance." He shrugged. "You can teach me." I placed my hand in his and stood up from my seat, following him out to the dance floor. I wrapped my arms around his neck, while he placed his on my waist.

"Im glad you're finally done crying." I smirked. "Whatever, I saw you tearin up too." He laughed. "Now you know you lying."

I laughed. "Real niggas don't cry at weddings." I lifted a brow. "Really? Cause if I remember correctly, you were getting a little teary eyed at our wedding."

He smirked. "Any man would, if they were marrying someone as beautiful as you." He spun me around and pulled me closer to him.

"I thought you didn't dance." He smirked. "I don't."

"Uh huh." He opened his mouth to speak, but the sound of a familar voice stopped him. "Eh em!!" We both looked down at the same time to see AJ standing there.

"May I have this dance?" He said looking up at me. I chuckled and let go of August. "Sure." I grabbed onto AJ's small hand and placed the other one of his shoulder.

We danced together in circles, since he really dindn't know how to. I glanced over at August, who had decided to dance with Aliyah. I shook my head and enjoyed this special moment.

"Damn, I can't believe your married Ker." She smiled as she took another bite of her cake. "I know, neither can I."

"Hell, I know I can't." Ellis said, speaking up. "You was the last one I thought would ever get a man, I guess I can't call you Sahara no mo."

She chuckled. "Whatever E, would it kill you too say something nice?" He frowned and placed his hand on his chest. "That wasn't nice?"

I rolled my eyes and put my focus back on Kerri. "Anyways, I just wanted to say congratulations, and that Im really happy for you and Jason both."

I smiled at her before pulling her into a tight hug. "Thank you Simi."

"And I guess I should congratulate you too." Ellis added, joining in on the hug. "So I should be the next down the aisle right??"

Kerri and I laughed. "You should be." Ellis nodded. "Girl yes, I hope y'all hoes like cheetah print cause that's exactly what my bridesmaids dresses gon look like."

We all held hands and laughed together.

**************

I watched Aliyah and AJ stuff handfulls a popcorn in their mouthes as we waited for August to come downstairs. "Come on daddy!! We're waiting on you!!" Aliyah yelled. I laid back on the couch, waiting for him to come lay beside me.

"Dad!! Hurry up!" AJ added. I picked Aliyah up off of my lap and sat her beside AJ. "He's probably still using the bathroom, I'll go check on him, just don't eat up all the popcorn little greedies." I stood up straight and walked over to the staircase, wondering what was taking August so long.

I skipped u the stairs and pushed open the door. I could see the light on in the bathroom, letting me know he was still in there. I was just about to turn the knob, when I heard him speak.

 "Nah, I'll be there tonight."

I frowned and stepped closer to the door.

"Ion think I can come earlier than that....Let me see what I can do."

I pressed my ear up agaisnt the door, trying to listen.

"Im with Simone and the kids right now, that's why Im not sure If I can get away."

"I can't do that, you know Simone don't know what's going on, I wanna keep it like that until I find a way to tell her.

My frown deepend.

"Alright look, Ima meet you at your place and then we can talk about it then, just let me get away from her and the kids ight?"

"Ight, bye."

I quickly moved away from the door and walked out of the room. Once I heard the door open, I walked back into the room.

"Oh, hey baby." I forced a smile on my face. "Hey, you ready? The kids are waiting for you downstairs." He looked down at the watch he was wearing and paused.

"Uh...actually ima need a rain check on that family movie." I frowned. "Why?? You were just ready a second ago."

"I know." He started. "Something came up and I gotta handle it." I lifte a brow. "Something? Something like what?"

"Some business, look I know it's last minute but I gotta go." He kissed my forehead before walking passed me.

"Your not even gunna change your clothes?" He shook his head and undid the button on his tux before slipping it off. "Nah, Ion got time, I'll see you later though ight?"

"What's later?" He sighed. "Im not sure, but I love you."

I paused. "...I love you too." He disappeared down the stairs and once I heard the front door close, I sighed.

I slowly made my way back to the living room and took my seat back on the couch. "Where's daddy? Did he just leave?" Aliyah asked me. "Yeah baby, he had some work to get done, but he'll be back."

"So we have to watch the movie without him?" I nodded. "Yeah, but he'll make it up to you guys, I promise." Aliyah sighed and layed back on me, while AJ layed across my lap. I grabbed the remote and pressed play.

I sat there staring at the screen, while my mind was completely off somewhere else. I didn't know what the hell was going on with August, but I knew to prepare myself for the worse.
