SIMONE P.O.V.

"Are you nervous?" I stood beside August in our separate hallway. "Yeah, Im not gon lie, I am." He pulled his hankerchief out of his suit pocket and dapped his forehead with it.

"Don't be nervous, just go up there and let Mr.Kasey state your case, and only speak when spoken too." He nodded. "I know ma."

"They should be letting us in any moment now." Mr.Kasey said, looking down at his watch. "Judge Johnson is never late." I lifted a brow. "You know him?" He shook his head no.

"Not personally, but he's been a judge for a few of my custody cases." I nodded slowly. "Oh alright....well thank you again for helping my husband with this, I really appreciate it." He smiled and fanned me off. "No problem Mrs.Alsina."

The wodden double doors opened up, turning our attention to the female officer that opened it. "You all can enter now." I took a deep breath and looked over at August, who still looked extremely nervous.

He had been fine all morning until we dropped Aliyah and AJ off to school, and AJ pratically begged the both of us to let him stay. After that, his whole demeanor had changed.

I grabbed onto his hand softly and pulled him back before he stepped into the court room. "Goodluck." He let out a small smile and nodded.

I fixed my suit jacket and stepped into the courtroom behind him. He walked up to the podium with his lawyer, while I took a seat in one of the jury seats, that were all empty anyways.

Once I sat down in my seat, the nerves began to sink in. We only had AJ for the past four months, but he's grown on th both of us. And even though he's not my biological son, I still love him like he is.

l looked over to my right once I heard the other double doors opening. In a walked a man with a suit on, Im guessing he was Ariana's lawyer. Since she's been in jail this whole time, Im sure they provided her with one.

Ariana stepped into the room after him, following him over to the podium. I looked over to the side, but I could see her staring at me in my peripheral vision.

"All rise for the honorable Judge Johnson." I took a deep breath as I rose up from my seat as I watched the Judge enter the room and walk over to his seat.

"You may all be seated." I quickly sat down and got comfortable in my seat.

He shuffled through a few papers on his desk and pushed his glasses up on his nose before speaking. "Mr. Alsina, it says here that you want full custody for your son August Alsina Jr. correct?" He nodded. "Yes, your honor."

"And you Ms.Whitaker, would like to have full custody of your son as well?" She nodded her head. "Yes, your honor."

He read through some more papers before looking up at the both of them. "Well who would like to plead there case first?" He folded his hands across his desk, waiting for someone to volunteer.

"We would, your honor." Ariana's lawyer said, speaking up. He motioned for him to start. "As you know, my client has serves a five year sentence in prison, and when she first was sentenced, she was with child and she obviously gave birth during her time."

Judge Johnson nodded. "Now that's she out of jail, she would like a chance to be with her son, since she's missed so much of his life already." He nodded slowly, pushing his glasses up on his nose.

He looked down at his papers and read a little before looking back over at her lawyer. "It says here that Ms.Whitaker has a history of bipolar disorder, Im not saying that parents with bipolar disorders can't raise a child, but why should I give her full custody of a child with her apparent issues?"

"If I may say your honor, my client has served her sentence in jail with no problems." He started. "She's been doing community service during her term, and has also been meeting with a therapist twice a week for the past five years to cope with her mental illness."

"Do you have any documentation of that?" Her lawyer nodded and pulled out a few papers from his folder and handed it to one of the security guards to give to the Judge. "She also has been consistent on her meds for the past five years, and will be monitored to continue to take them, she has already agreed to meeting with a doctor every other week to make sure she's still on her meds."

The Judge was silent as he shuffled through her papers. "My client wants a chance to redeem herself, she has served her time in jail, and she done everything she needed to do. Everyone deserves a second chance your honor, and that's all she's asking for."

He sat back down in his seat, as if he was satisfied with the speech he just gave. I swalloed hard and turned my attention back to the Judge once I heard him speak.

"And has your client provided any information today with how she'll be able to take care of her son now that's her sentence is up?" He paused. "As of right now, my client doesn't have anything to present to you your honor, but all she asks if for Mr.Alsina to keep her son until she gets on her feet and finds a stable job and stable living."

Judge Johnson nodded and pushed his glasses up on his face and looked over all the paperwork on his desk. "It says here that Mr.Alsina has had custody of AJ for the past for months now, my question is, who has AJ been living with for the past five years and why is Mr.Alsina just now getting his son?"

"I can answer that your honor." Mr.Kasey speaking up. "Up until for months ago, my client did not know he had a son until Ms.Whitaker's mother showed up on his doorstep with the child." Judge Johnson frowned, motioning for him to continue.

"Almost six years ago when Ms.Whitaker first got pregnant, she was arrested." He nodded. "Ms.Whitaker wrote a letter to my client, letting her know that the child had passed away due to complications with drugs that were in her system."

"Do you have any proof of that?" He nodded his head yes. "Yes I do."

Mr.Kasey opened up his folder and pulled out a piece of notebook paper that obviously had been crumbled, but looked as if someone tried to smooth it out. "This is the letter Ms.Whitaker wrote my client six years go, regarding the death of the child."

My eyes widened. I didn't even know that August had saved that letter after all these years. It showed how much he was hurt by it, to hang on to that letter like that.

I watched the Judge as his eyes scrolled back and forth, reading everything that Ariana wrote. He sat the letter down and looked up at her. "So you lied about the death of your son Ms.Whitaker?" She paused before slowly nodding. "May I ask why?"

"In my clients defense, she wrote that letter when she wasn't on any meds, she was pregnant at the time, so she hadn't been taking her daily doses for a few months. Her state of mind wasn't in the right."

"If I may interject." Mr. Kasey said. The judge turned to him and motioned for him to speak. "In a phone call to my client from Ms.Whitaker, she clearly statess the real reason why she lied about the death of the child."

I frowned, not knowing where this was going. I glanced over at Ariana, who looked extremely nervous. "Do you have the audio?" Mr.Kasey nodded. "Yes, the jail where Ms.Whitaker was serving her sentence was nice enough to search for this audio and lend it to us today." He reached into his bag and pulled out a cassette tape.

I watched as the the security handed the Judge the tape, and he put in in a player.

"Look, I lied about AJ because I wanted too, you wouldn't have cared anyway, since you were having a baby with that other bitch."

The taped stopped, Judge Johnson sighed and shook his head. "This is you on the tape correct?" Ariana nodded her head slowly. "On this tape Ms.Whitaker, who are you referring too?" She paused before answering.

"His wife." The Judge looked up into the jury seats and nodded once he saw me sitting their. "And according to the tape, you and Mrs.Alsina was pregnant at the same time?" She nodded. "Yes your honor."

"I see." He started. "So the reason you lied about the death of your child was because he was having another child, and you felt as if he wouldn't care?"

She was silent for a second. "...Yes, they had gotten back together, and all his attention suddenly shifted to her."

"That's a pretty childish reason don't you think?" She was silent.

"On to other things." He started. "It's pretty obvious that Mr.Alsina is finacially stable, and will always be fincially stable to take care of your son, also he's already mentally stable, and does not need to be monitored or take any medication."

"But-" The Judge held up his hand, cutting Ariana's lawyer off. "Now, I do believe that people can change and turn there life around, and in this case, I believe that as well." He started.

"So with that being said, I think I've heard enough of this case."

I sat up in my seat, knowing he was about to make a decison any moment now. "In the case of five year old August Alsina Jr, I hereby grant Mr.Alsina with full custody, with supervised visitation on weekends for Ms.Whitaker."

"Visitation will be every Saturday and Sunday starting two weeks from now. Someone will come along with you Ms.Whitaker when you take your son out on those two days. Until you get a place of your own and you meet criteria, then and only then will the supervision stop and you can have regular visitation rights. We will see how this goes for another year, and then we will meet in court a year from today and possibly discuss joint custody."

He banged his gavel down, making me take the longest sigh of relief.

***************

I watched August pace in circles as we waited for Aliyah and AJ to get out of school. "Calm down, they'll be out any minute." I said with a smile. He looked up at me and chuckled. "Is it that obvious?" I laughed. "Just a little."

All of a sudden the school bell rang, and all the kids started to pour out of the doors. I stood up straight, looking around for AJ and Aliyah.

I smiled once I seen them both heading out of the building. Before I could even say anything to August, he was already making his way around the little kids trying to get to him.

"Hey mommy!" I looked down at Aliyah and smiled. "Hey princess, did you have a good day?" I looked over to my right to see August picking up AJ.

"Yeah, I did." I nodded. "That's good." All of a sudden I heard AJ start cheering with a big smile on his face. He ran over to Aliyah and I, extremely excited.

"Li-Li guess what!!" She frowned, wondering why he was so excited. "What??" "I get to stay with you guys!!!" Her face lit up and a big smile formed on her lips. "No way!!" I laughed at there excitement.

***************

"What did AJ say when you told him about Ariana?" I stood in the bathroom, taking off my earrings. "He was excited that he was gettin to stay, but you know he had some questions about her."

I sighed. "Of course, did you tell him he was going to meet her?" I undid the button on my blazer and pulled it off.

"Yeah, he ain't say much, he seemed a little nervous, but he just said okay." I shook my head as I undid the button on my slacks.

"I can't believe all of this has been happening, Im glad that it's over for now." He reached into the drawer and pulled out a shirt. "Yeah, key word is for now."

I walked out the bathroom, undoing the bun that was sitting on the top of my head. "Don't stress about that, even if Ariana get's joint custody, he'll still be in your life, it's not like he's leaving forever."

He nodded. "Yeah I know." I smiled at him as I grabbed my pajamas off the bed. "....Thank you for being there today." I nodded. "No problem, you knew I wanted to be there anyways." He chuckled.

"I know, but nah forreal, I needed the support." He sat down on the edge of the bed and faced me. "....Your welcome."

".....Are you going to bed?" He nodded. "Yeah in a minute, I wanna talk to you first." I sat my clothes back down and took a seat on the bed.

"....With everything that's been going on, I know we haven't had no time to talk about us and our relationship." I was silent. "I don't know where we stand right now, but I still wanna thank you for standing beside me and being my wife through all of this shit, especially at the times when I wasn't being a good husband." I nodded slowly.

"When AJ fist got here, our whole world was thrown for a loop, and shit got really rough." I nodded my head in agreement. "And seeing how you handled everything so perfectly, knowing what our situation was really made me see some shit."

I was silent, waiting for him to continue. "You accepted my son with opens arms, not to many women would have did that." He sighed. "You honestly love me despite anything that we could ever go through, and I appreciate that more than anything. I don't know a woman stronger than you, and that's why I love you and I need you."

"..Not only do I need you around for me, I need you around for Aliyah and AJ....I can't raise my son alone, I can't do it by myself, and there's no other women I want by my side to love me and help me anyways." I cracked a small smile.

"I know it's gon take alot to get back on track, but I rather go through hell and high water to fix our shit, than to give it up. I don't want you to leave me ma, Im fully commited to fixing our marriage, only if you can forgive me give me another chance."

I was silent. "We can do the counseling like you wanted in the beginning, I already set up an appointment for us....that's if you can forgive me, and give this another chance."

I took a deep breath, suprised at everything that just came out of his mouth. "......I forgive you." He paused for a second. "...Does that mean I get another chance? And that you'll go to counseling?"

I nodded my head yes. "Yes, that's what it means." A smirk formed on his lips as he reached across the bed and pulled me on his lap. "Im sorry, and I love you." He pecked my lips, causing me to smile.

"I love you too." He licked his lips and looked me up and down. "Lay down." I frowned. "For what? I was about to go to bed." He sucked his teeth. "Do as I say."

I lifted a brow as I slowly slid off his lap and layed back on the bed. He stood up and pulled his shirt off, leaving him in his basketball shorts.

"Take your shirt off." I stayed silent as I followed his instructions. "Take your bra off, and then shorts and panties." I paused for a moment before doing exactly what he said.

He stood there admiring my naked body for a few seconds before pulling his shorts off and hovering over me. "Just relax ight? Ima do all the work." I nodded my head and watched him as he pushed my legs open and layed right between them.

He placed soft kisses all over my chest and neck, making sure no spot went unkissed. "I love you." He mumbled into my skin. "I love you so much." He said again.

He reached down and grabbed himself, before slowly inserting it in me. I bit down on my bottom lip, not wanting to moan since the kids were down the hall.

He kept kissing all over me as he gave me all these long deep strokes. He kept mumbiling how much he loved me and how sorry he was, but I didn't say anything back to him due to all the pleasure I was feeling.

I closed my eyes and dug my nails into his back as I let him stroke me as deep as he possibly could.
