I held onto Aliyah's hand as I walked her and AJ into school. He had been silent for most of the morning, most likely nervous about being in a new place and a new school. "Ok, I'll see you later Li-Li." I kissed her forehead and watched her run into her classroom.

I looked down at AJ, who was looking all around at everything, taking it in. "You ready to go to your class?" He nodded, still being very quiet. I placed my hand on his shoulder, and turned him to me. "I know you said you didn't want me to walk you, but I still can if your nervous." He shook his head and moved out of my grasp.

"No, it's okay I got it Miss Simone." He looked down the hallway and pointed. "...Is that my room?" I nodded. "Yeah it is." He pulled his backpack up on his back and took a deep breath before turning back to me.

"..Okay....Um....I'll see you later." He slightly smiled at me before walking down the hallway to his classroom. I knew it was probably awkward for him to be with me, since he didn't really know me, but I wanted to be as helpful as I possible could, especially since August is nowhere around.

I turned on my heels and made my way out of the school. I pulled my phone out of my pocket to see if I had any missed calls from August, but I didn't have any. I sighed, wondering where he was since he didn't come home last night. I knew all of this was alot to take in right now, but he should have been here to see his son off to school this morning.

I slid into the driver seat and quickly buckled up, when my phone began to vibrate in my ean pocket.I leaned back in my seat and puleled it out, taking a sigh of relief once I seen August calling me.

ME: "Hello?? Are you okay??"

AUGUST: "..Im fine ma."

I frowned once I heard the sorrow in his voice.

ME: "Are you sure? You sound funny."

AUGUST: Yeah...yeah Im sure."

I sighed.

ME: "So where are you? And where have you been? You had me a little worried since you never came back or answered any of my calls."

AUGUST: "I know, my bad, I had to get a new phone...and I been at my condo."

ME: "Ohh...you stayed there all night?"

AUGUST: "Yeah....you got the kids to school?"

I started up the car and sighed.

ME: "Yeah, I just dropped them both off...why didn't you come?"

AUGUST: "Ion know.....my head ain't really been right, especially since I got a call from Ariana last night."

My eyes widened as I pulled away from the curb.

ME: "Ariana? She called you?? What did she say??"

AUGUST: "Ima be home later, I'll tell you everything then."

ME: "...Alright, I'll see you back at home."

AUGUST: "Yeah."

I hung up the phone and tossed it into the passenger seat.

I took off my shades as I stepped inside the boutique. "Oh my god Simone." Kerri and Ellis both rushed over to me and gave me big hugs. I hadn't been back to the shop since I took my random getaway not to long ago.

"Damn, where you been girl?? We haven't seen you in a minute." I sighed and nodded. "I know, my bad, I've been busy, I was meaning to drop by or give you guys a call, but things have been really crazy."

Kerri nodded. "It's okay, we know you took some time for yourself, so we took care of the shop while you were gone." I smiled. "Thank you."

"Hell we better get a raise from all that damn work we had to do." I chuckled. "And it's good to see you too Ellis."

"So what's been going on with you guys?" Kerri smiled. "Well, Ellis and I started my wedding planning, but we haven't done to much, because I wanted your input too." I cracked a small smile.

"Aw thanks Ker, but I don't think I will be able to contribute that much right now, my plate is seriously full." She frowned and looked me up and down.

"Uh oh, what's going on? Did something happen when you went away?" I shook my head. "No...it's not that, it' just..." I took a deep breath and blinked my eyes a few times, trying to stop the tears from coming.

".....August and I have another child to take care of." There eyes grew wide. "Oh my god, your pregnant again?? Congratulations!!" I shook my head. "No, that's not what I meant."

I sat down on the couch, and they followed suit. "Well what is it?"

"August has a son." They both froze. "A son? A son with who? I know he ain't cheatin on you." Ellis said. "No, he's not, and he has a son with Ariana." Kerri frowned.

"Ariana? Isn't she in jail? How could he have a son with her." I sighed. "......Remember six years ago when she was pregnant?" They nodded. "Yeah, She lost the baby."

I nodded. "Atleast that's what she told us...the truth is, she lied about her miscarriage and she actually had a healthy baby boy." Kerri put her hand over her mouth in shock."

"She gave the baby to her mom, and she's the one that's been caring for him for the past six years now, and now that her mother is sick, she showed up on our doorstep with the boy and wants us to keep him until Ariana gets out of jail in a few months."

I sat back in my seat, trying to gather myself. "What the hell?" Kerri mumbled. "That dunb bitch lied about misscarrying a baby?? I swear she gets on my fuckin nerves." Ellis shook his head, looking as if he wa getting upset.

"So you guys are keeping him?" I nodded my head yes. "Yeah, I mean he is Augusts' son, and he has no other place to go, so we really don't have a choice." Kerri shook her head.

"Oh my god, and Aliyah, does she know what's going on?" "Yeah, to a extent, we explained to her the situation and she understood, but I doubt she understand everything."

"Wow Simi, your life is literally a rollercoaster." "Yeah." I mumbled. "Well how are you? How are you doing with all that's going on?" I paused before answering.

"...I don't know..I guess Im okay." Ellis frowned. "Are you sure?" I opened my mouth to speak,, but nothing came out. I could feel my face getting hot as a tear rolled down my cheek.

"Aw, no don't cry." Kerri said, sitting beside me. "I really don't know how to feel about all this." I said through my tears. "Im still in shock, I can't even fathom the thought of August having another child, everything seems so unreal right now." They both wraped their arms around me as I cried.

I touched up my makeup as I waited outside the school for Aliyah and AJ. I placed my shades over my puffy eyes and sat back in my seat. Once the school bell went off, I took a deep breath and put a smile on my face.

I had asked Aliyah to wait for AJ, so they could walk out to the car together. I looked out the window, as I watched all the little kids run out of the school in different directions. I smiled once I seen Aliyah and AJ coming out together, talking.

I buckled up my seatbelt and started up the car, once they were getting close. "Hey mommy." I smiled as I watched Aliyah climb into the seat behind mine. "Hey baby, how was your day?" I smiled at AJ as he got into the car.

"It was good, we're having a guest speaker tommorow." I nodded. "Who?" "A fireman, he's gunna teach us about safety and stuff, and I heard he's bringing his dog!" I chuckled. "That sounds like fun, tell me how it goes." She nodded and buckled her seatbelt.

"And how was your first day AJ?" He buckled his seatbelt and shrugged. "It was okay." "...Do you like your new teacher?" He nodded. "Yeah, she's nice." I smirked. "That's good, and what about the class?"

He was silent. "......You didn't like the class?"He looked down into his lap and sighed. "Umm..not really." I nodded slowly. "Why not? Did something happen?" He shook his head no.

"No...nobody really talked to me, that's all." I frowned. "Aww, Im sorry, I know how it feels to be the new kid on the block." He was silent. "Just give the other kids some time, Im sure you'll make some friends." He leaned his head on the window, and just stared out of it. I sighed and faced to the front, taking off down the street.

"I drew this for you daddy." Aliyah reached into her backpack and pulled out a pice of paper with a bunch of colorful drawings. "Thank you lil mama." He kissed her cheek and took the paper from her.

"Me and daddy have to talk, so why don't you two go upstairs and start your homework, and I'll call you when dinner's ready?" Aliyah sighed and nodded. "Okay." She turned to the stairs and motioned for AJ to follow her.

Once they were put of sight, I turned to August and let out a soft smile. "Hey." "Hey.." I leaned into the kitchen counter and sighed. "It's good to see you." He nodded. "You too, Im sorry for not coming back yesterday." I nodded.

"You already apologized for that, Im waiting for you to tell me what Ariana said to you." He sighed and shook his head.

"She said a whole bunch of dumb shit, basically she wants me to keep him until she gets out in four months, and then she's gunna take him and have her own life with him." I frowned. "Wait, so she's not going to include you in his life?"

He sighed and shook his head. "How can she do that? Has she stopped and thought about how cunfusing that will be to him?" "Apparently not." He started.

"And she said she doesn't want you around him either." I frowned. "Well Im around him now, so what's the difference." He shrugged. "Her ass is crazy, so I don't know." I shook my head. "So what are you gunna do?"

He shook his head, unsure of what to say. "I don't know, but I'll think of something, all I know is she ain't gon get away with whatever dumb shit she's tryna do." I nodded my head in agreement.
