AUGUST P.O.V.

I gripped my cane and stood up from the couch once I heard the front door close. It's been a week since Simone left, and I was somewhat excited to see her today, since Kelsey told me she on her way back home last night.

I took a deep breath and walked out to the front of the house, where she was at. Once I seen her sitting her bags down by the door, a small smirk formed on my lips. "...Hey ma." She looked up at me and sat her shades on top of her head. "Hey."

I examined her face, which seemed much happier than before. I could tell she wasn't wearing any makeup, but she seemed like she was somewhat glowing, maybe it was from the apparent tan she had, but there was definetely something different about her.

"I see your up and walking." She said motioning to my cane. "Yeah, doc said Im healing pretty fast, I didn't expect to be using a cane so soon, I should be walking normally by then end of the week." She nodded. "That's great."

A awkward silence filled the room for a few seconds. ".....How was the therapist? Was he any good?" He nodded. "Yeah he was damn good, he helped alot, part of the reason why Im walking so fast."

She smirked. "Good." She picked up her bag and made her way over to the stairs. "You need help?" She shook her head no. "No, I got it, I don't want you to hurt yourself." I watched her drag her suitcase up the stairs, causing me to chuckle.

I followed her up the stairs and into our bedroom. "...You've been sleeping in here?" She asked me, motioning to the messy bed. "Uh yeah, Just for the past week." "Oh...Okay."

She picked up her suitcase and sat in on the bed. "....Can we talk?" She nodded. "Yeah, sure." She unzipped the suitcase and started unpacking.

"...I know you were upset...we both were....but why'd you leave?" She sighed. "I needed to step back and take some time for myself. After our arguement, I felt like I was losing my mind. For years, I put everyone before myself and I just needed a moment." I slowly nodded.

"I couldn't stay here trying to take care of everyone when my mind wasn't right, everything just became really overwhelming, and I had to get away....but Im back now, I feel a whole lot better and I'm sorry for walking out the way I did, leaving you and Aliyah."

"I accept your apology." She nodded. "And Im sorry too." I started. "I shouldn't have said all that rude shit to you, about the miscarriage and stuff, it was out of line."

"...I accept your apology....and Im sorry for not taking any of your calls, I wasn't ready to speak." He nodded. "It's cool....so....where'd you go?" She walked back and forth from the bed and closet, putting away her clothes. "I didn't know where to go at first, but I had my passport in the glove compartment, so I settled on going to Jamaica."

Both of my brows shot up. "You went all the way to Jamaica?" She nodded. "Damn...how was it?"

"It was great, and I feel great." "You look good too." She slightly smirked. "Thank you, but I should be leaving in a few minutes." I frowned. "You just got back, where you going??"

She laughed. "Calm down, I have to go check up on the boutique, and I have a anger management class after." I frowned. "Anger management?

"Oh yeah, I never told you about that." She started. "When I got into the fight with Ryelle back in Atlanta, they assigned me to anger management for two months." I nodded. "Ain't it been like two months??"

"Yeah, it's my last meeting." I nodded slowly. "Oh ight..I'll see you later then." She smiled and nodded. "Okay, I'll be back soon."

I settled in one usual couch, and waited for my therapist to speak. "So today's our last meeting huh?" I cracked a small smile. "It is, it went by realy fast." She nodded her head in agreement with me. "It did, I've been looking over your chart, and reading all oof your personal journals you wrote here, and Im happy too say that you made progress."

I smiled. "How do you feel about your time with me? Do you think the classes helped?" I paused before answering. "Overall, I feel like the classes helped me control my anger better, I had a setback a few days ago and I kind of exploded, but there's no growth without setbacks."

She nodded. "Im less physically and verbaly abusive, and I actually talk in a clam manor, and I try my best not to interrupt when other's are speaking." She smiled. "That's great, you accomplished all of your set goals."

"Now." She started. "Working on your anger just doesn't stop here, it's a everyday thng you will have to work on, you have al the skills, now it's up to you to use them." I nodded.
"I will."

August and I stood up from our seats and clapped once Aliyah and all of the girls finished there performance. I pulled out my camera and snapped a few more pictures of her in her little dress. She told me that August picked it out, which suprised me because it actually wasn't ugly.

"You go Li-Li!!" I yelled once it was her turn to take her bow. I glanced over at August who was smiling really hard, just staring at her like I was. The rest of the parents were either clapping cheering or taking pictures like I was. Once the curtains dropped, I grabbed my bag and the rose we got for Aliyah, before stepping into the aisle, letting August out.

"Um, can you bring the car to the front, and I'll go held Aliyah get her things backstage." August smiled and nodded. "Ight, sure." I smiled back and watched him walk away.

Ever since I got home, we had been getting along really well. We still had alot of things to discuss, but we been coexisting for th whole day.

I pulled my purse up on my shoulder as I followed the other moms backstage to where all the girls where.

I looked around for Aliyah, trying to spot her huge bun. Once I did, a huge smile spread across my face as I made my way over to her. "Good job pumpkin." I bent down and gave her a hug and handed her rose. "Thanks, where's daddy?"

"He's outside getting the car, you ready to go?" She nodded. "Let me finish getting my stuff." She ran off towards the little cubbies all the girls had. I watched her as he got her things, when I felt a slight tap on my shoulder.

I turned anround and smirked once I seen Sean standing there. "Hey." We pulled each other into a hug. "If it isn't miss MIA." I chuckled. "Sorry. I went away for a week, I took your advice and got some time to myself." He nodded. "That's good, you could atleast told a nigga where you was going though." I lifted a brow.

"Oh, you was worried?" He nodded his head yes. "I was worried so much, I even asked August where you was at." Both of my brows shot up. "Really??" He nodded. "But Im glad to see you doing okay, how was your little trip?" I smirked. "It was great, I got a chance to unwind and relax, and most importantly think."

He slowly nodded. "You thought about me and you?" He rubbed his chin, smirking. "...I did, I thought about everything." "And what you came up with?" He lifted a brow, waiting for me to answer. "That's a discussion for a different day." He nodded.

"Ight, well you look good." He looked me up and down and licked his lips. I smiled.

"Thank you....where's Tia?" I looked around looking for her, but I couldn't see her through all the little kids running around. "Oh, over there, with my sister." He pointed across the room, where she was. I nodded. "Oh okay..Im glad I got to see you."

He smiled. "Same...maybe we can get together soon, you know if your okay with that." I nodded. "I am, I got some things to take care of at home first, but maybe we can do something tommorow night." He nodded. "I'll call you." He gave me one last hug before walking away.

"Im ready!" I heard Aliyah say behind me. I quickly turned around and held out my hand. "Alright, let's go."

"Can I get a brownie and a chocolate shake?" I chuckled and placed my menu back on the table. "No, it's one or the other, your gunna get cavaties from eating all thiose sweets." Aliyah sighed and looked back down at her kiddie menu.

"Let her have both, tonight is her night." August said. "Alright, you can have both, but when you get a cavity and the dentist has to drill a hole in your teeth, don't say I didn't warn you." I picked my menu back up and looked at her.

Her eyes widened and she shook her head. "Nevermind, I'll just get the chocolate shake." I nodded while August laughed. "I see what you did there." He said lowly.

"What are you getting ma?" He asked me. "Probably just a ceaser salad or something, Im really not trying to gain any weight off this food." He chuckled. "A few more pounds wouldn't hurt you." I shook my head. "No thank you, what are you getting?" I asked looking over at his menu.

"The rack of ribs." I shook my head. "Of course." Aliyah giggled. "Daddy's greedy!" I nodded my head in agreement. "That's right, he sure is." He sucked his teeth and closed his menu. "So y'all just gon gang up on me like that??" She nodded. "Uh huh!" She said.

"That's cool, y'all just hatin on me because Im a man." Aliyah shook her head. "So, girls run the world anyways!" I chuckled.

"You need to stop listening to all that Beyonce." I laughed at the both of them and shook my head.

I finish Aliyah braids and pulled her covers back. "Goodnight." I kissed her cheek and watched her slid into the bed. "Sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite." She softly chuckled as she hed onto her stuff animal and closed her eyes. I switched off her light and made my way into my bedroom.

I closed the door behind myself and pulled my maxi dress all the way up before pulling over my head. I turned around and pushed my hair over my shoulders. I jumped once I heard some shuffiling in the closet.

"Oh my bad ma, I didn't know you were in here." August came walking out of the closet with one of his travel bags. "..Oh no....it's okay." I quickly walked over to my drawer, pulling out a pair of shorts and a tank top.

"Your leaving?" He nodded. "Yeah In the morning, Im up and walking so Im good now, I thought I should go back to my condo.." I nodded. "Alright." He sat his packed bag by the door and turned to me. "Can we talk though?"

I slipped on my shorts and then my shirt and nodded. "Yeah, sure." I took a seat on the bed and motioned for him to come sit beside me. He limped over to the bed, since he didn't have his cane.

"First of all." He started. "I wanna say thank you." I frowned. "Thank you? For what?" He took a deep breath before continuing. "Taking care of things while you were away, I mean, Im always on the road, so I didn't know how hard it is to hold things down at home. It's little things like picking out Li-Li's' clothes, getting her to school on time, making her something to eat, plus all the stuff you do for me, I appreciate it."

I smirked and nodded. "Well your welcome, but there's really no need to thank me, it's apart of my job as a mom...and a wife." He nodded. "I know, but still."

We sat in silence for a few seconds. "So.." He started. "I know you went away to get your mind right....but you never told me what you thought about." I nodded. "Oh um, just everything, me and you mostly." He nodded slowly.

"What you thought about with me and you?" I sighed. "I had to think about if this relationship is still something I want." He swalloed hard. "Oh...and what you came up with??"

"....I still don't know...I was really upset and I ended up sending those seperation papers in, and my lawyer called and told me it takes a month and a half to process." He was silent.

"I know I love you, and I want Aliyah to have both of her parents together, but I don't want to just try for Aliyah, I want try because I really want to fix it. All I ask is for you too give me a little bit more time, and we can continue co-parenting until I make a decison."

He sighed and nodded. "Okay, fine." I lifted a brow. "Really?" He nodded. "Yeah, I'll wait, it's cool." He stood up from the bed and kissed my forehead. "Im going to bed, goodnight ma." "Night." I watched him walk out of the room and close the door behind him.
