Back at the scene of the crime, Saunders had read the note for the umpteenth time.

Nowhere to be found is number 8,

Unless of course, you check the grate

The grate...the grate...the grate.

He'd been racking his brain to find out what that meant.

"The grate....the grate." He mumbled. And then, as if a lightbulb had gone off in his head. "The sewer grate?"

August was the first to pull away from the kiss, his head shaking as he backed away from Angela.

"No..no. Not again. You have to leave." He mumbled these words with wide eyes. "You have to go."

"Chresanto..."

"Angie, leave!" He raised his voice and she hopped down from his desk, walking over to him.

He continued to take small steps back until his back pressed against the wall behind him.

"Chresanto, it's not that I never wanted to marry you." She spoke softly as she continued to take steps toward him. "I didn't think I was worthy of you. I didn't think I was good enough for you."

He didn't respond at first. He just stared at her. But when he did speak, his voice was angry. "It wasn't about what you thought!" He told her harshly. "It wasn't about whether or not you felt good enough! I loved you Ang!" He took a step closer to her. "That's what mattered! I loved you and I wanted to marry you!" He continued, making her step back as he took more steps to close the space between them. "I wanted you! I didn't care about anything or anybody else! I just wanted to be with you!"

"And I still want to be with you." She spoke quietly. Yet another lie.

He let out a bitter chuckle and shook his head. "No you don't! You didn't then, and you don't now!"

She took a step closer to him and reached out to touch his arm. "Santo...I do still want to be with you."

Chresanto stared at her in silence and after a moment, he reached a hand out, and took the file back.

"You don't have to lie to me." He mumbled, seating himself once more. "But I am gonna regret helping you."

Officer Holmes' eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but Chresanto motioned for her to be seated and she claimed the chair across from him.

"You have a notepad?" He asked.

She nodded and reached to pull it out. "Yeah."

"Alright start here...he's a lefty." August told her as he stared down at the file.

"How did you know that?" Holmes asked.

"Well, I caught it the first time through, but when he cuts his victims to tag his 'name' his hand rests in the previous letter and he leaves these little spots of blood." He pointed to a picture to show her what he meant.

"And that means he's a lefty?" Holmes asked.

Chresanto rolled his eyes. "Yes. Think about it. When you write.." He motioned to her hand as she held her pen after writing what he'd told her to write. "You go left to right...right handed people land on a clean section of the paper...leftys...not so much. They sort of smear their writing unintentionally. It looks like he tries to get it cleaned up, but it's not too effective."

"Okay...he's a lefty. Anything else?" Holmes asked.

Chresanto remained quiet and carefully flipped through each page before speaking again. "These women...he's not just picking them at random." He informed with furrowed eyebrows.

Ashanti Higgs...24 years of age...born April 8, 1994.

Located in a sewer grate in the middle of downtown. When pulled out, she resembled the seven victims before her.

A note was clutched tightly in her hand.

Angela arrived at the scene with Chresanto at her side. The Captain was in a meeting, meaning he wasn't attending the scene. This also meant that it was the perfect scene for August to attend.

He stepped out of the vehicle, straightening his tie and glancing around him. When his eyes fell on the woman, he furrowed his eyebrows and started slow steps toward the scene.

Murmurs began to erupt all around as August passed by.

"How'd he get here?"

"Didn't Captain take his badge?"

"Does the Captain know he's here?"

"What's he doing with Holmes?"

"Should we call the Captain?"

August ignored the comments. But he did cast a curious glance at Holmes, wondering how she was gonna cover her ass if the Captain got word that August was at the scene. Because Chresanto was a detective...and he could tell that Angela was lying because he knew her like the back of his hand.

He decided that it was best not to tell her that he knew just yet. But like he said before, Angela was a pro at playing games. So these lies were not shocking to him.

When he reached the woman, he knelt beside her and examined her carefully.

"Did you get the note?" Holmes asked.

He shook his head and reached into his suit jacket pocket for his handkerchief, using it to tug the note from the woman's hand.

To find woman number 9

Go to a place with food quite sublime

"Food quite sublime...food quite sublime..." August spoke quietly, handing Holmes the note as he carefully paced the scene, using his handkerchief to move things and examine the body and how it was laid. "Aha..." A smile graced his lips and he reached into his pants pocket, pulling out a napkin and shoving it in Holmes' hands.

"Why did you give me a napkin?" She asked.

He rolled his eyes. "Read it."

"Luigi's Authentic Italian Cuisine." She read. "And?"

Chresanto rolled his eyes again and sighed. "Ang...you're supposed to be smart, sweetheart." He pointed to the note again. "Food quiet sublime? Luigi's is a restaurant."

"How do we know that's it?" Holmes questioned.

"Our third date, Ang." He replied with yet another roll of his eyes. "Oh my god that was the best Italian food I've ever had, Santo." He mimicked Angela and batted his eyelashes while flicking a hand at the wrist. "I was just there the other night...hints the napkin. I can vouch for the food being 'quite sublime'." August replied.

"To Luigi's we go."

By the time the detectives arrived on the scene, the body had already been located. Chresanto furrowed his eyebrows.

"I don't understand." He mumbled. "We just came from the other scene. Higgs wasn't even dead for two days yet."

"Higgs?" Holmes asked. "How'd you know her name?"

August smirked. "Well...ya know." He chuckled and shrugged.

Holmes gasped. "Did you and her have a thing?"

"What? No...I read it on Julie's clipboard when she kneeled down to collect a hair sample." He explained. "But if I did, that wouldn't be your business Angela." He chuckled again and approached the body of victim number 9.

"She's pretty." August commented. "I mean...she was, I guess."

He retrieved the note from her hand, and unfolded it carefully.

Run...run as fast as you can,

That is where you'll find number 10

"Hmm....run...run as fast as you can." August spoke quietly. "Hmm..."

"Do we have an ID?" Holmes asked Julie.

She glanced at her clipboard. "Amy...Amy Hollic. Born April 9, 1994."

Augusts' ears perked up. "April 9th, you said?"

"Yes."

"And Higgs? Her birthday was April 8th?" He asked.

Julie nodded. "Yeah that's correct."

"He's matching the number with their birth date. The first victim was born April 1st, victim 2 April 2nd...victim 3 on the 3rd And so on...the next victim...victim number 10...her birthday will be the 10th." August spoke. "See if we can get a registry of all females born on the 10th of April in 1994." He turned to Holmes. "Start a search on April 11th as well. Just in case we're too late for number 10."

She nodded. "Got it."

Alicia Hart cowered in the small room where she seemingly awaited her demise. The man who'd kidnapped her had long since disappeared and she had yet to see him again.

She had no idea where she was, only noting that the room was small and smelled of sweat.

The door opened, and with the small bit of sunlight gleaming through the window, she could make out a silhouette of a man...a little on the muscular side.

"They're catching on to me." He spoke, more calm than he should have been at that moment. "This is good. They have to solve the case to find my reasoning." He smiled a bright smile at the girl as he approached her.

"W-what are you gonna do to me?" She asked.

"You all ask the same question." He chuckled softly, kneeling to her level as he reached her. "Why, I'm going to kill you of course."
