______________

IT'S BEEN three days since I and mother arrived and everything was going well so far.

We met Sultan Suleiman the other day and he is truly kind and magnificent like everyone says he is.

Though I have yet to meet the princes my mother and Hurrem Sultan have been getting along great, I didn't expect the palace that my mother often complained about to now bring so much joy to her

I sit reading a book as Esin Hatun does my hair, I sigh getting bored of the book, I toss the book on the floor making Esin gasp.

"My sultana!" Esin squeals, I chuckle and shrug my shoulders, "the book is terribly boring what do you expect!" I say throwing my hands up in defense.

Esin chuckles, "you always lose interest in things so fast, maybe if you just tried to read it then you would realize that it is a good book!" She signed.

I shrug my shoulders and giggle, "now Esin, you know that will never happen, I get bored way too easily!"

"Okay, my sultana if you say so, " she says as she pats my head and hands me the mirror so I can see my hair.

I smile at my finished hair. Ever since I was a baby Esin has been there to help me out and take care of me when my mother got tired of me, I don't know what i'd do without her...

"Well, I would like to visit the gardens today Esin, we could eat there today if my mother agrees to it, " I suggest with a smile before pushing myself up from my seat.

Esin nods her head, "I will ask your mother but im sure she will-"
just as Esin was about to finish off her words a knock came to my room doors.

Both I and Esin instantly turned our heads towards the doors. Who could that be? If it was my mother she would have just burst through and no one other than her come to visit me.

Thoughts of every possibly went through my mind but I didn't worry too much about it because more likely it was just a maid wanting to clean up around my rooms.

"Pass!" I said while looking at the door curiously to who would walk through my doors.

It shocked me most when a boy around my age with auburn hair walked through my doors instead of a maid.

"Hello Sultana, " he spoke up after respectfully bowing to me.

I looked over at Esin with confusion and she just shrugged her shoulders with the same look of confusion on her face.

"Hello, how may I help you? Who are you?" I ask quickly with a bit of nervousness in my voice but I made sure to keep my head high because if my mother was here and even saw the slightest bit of nervousness in me she'd be furious.

The young boy chuckles and pushes his hair away from his face before responding, "I did not mean to worry you, Sultana, and to answer both questions, I am Sehzade Bayezid, my mother asked me to come speak with you and ask if you wanted to join me to eat in the gardens, " he said in a soft tone.

My nerves calmed down once I found out who was standing in front of me.

"Oh, I understand Sehzade, I apologize for my silly worries and questions, I would love to join you in the gardens but first I must speak with my mother about it, " I say smiling.

Bayezid nods his head also holding a smile on his face. He takes a glance around the room but suddenly his eyes fall on the book laying on the floor.

"Le roi de tous les maux, " he speaks pointing a finger to the book, making both Esin and I look to the book that I had tossed aside so quickly.

Esin is quick to pick the book up and hand it to me with a smile on her face.

"The King of All Evil, " I say the title of the book, "have you read it before?" I ask.

Bayezid nods his head grinning, "it's one of my favorites, I always loved the way the writer made the king seem so evil yet so broken, " he said staring into my eyes still holding his boyish grin on his lips.

I giggle, "I quite don't understand it in that way, it's all very confusing to me because why would he promise to love his bride forever knowing it was impossible for him to even love?" I say with a look of disgust on my face.

Bayezid chuckles once again, "how about you bring the book with you to the gardens, and you and I can read it over and talk some more about it, " he suggests.

I nod my head smiling, "im looking forward to hearing how you are going to try and defend the evil king, "

Bayezid laughs and nods his head, "until then Sultana, " before leaving Bayezid steps closer to me and takes ahold of my hand, and places a gentle kiss on the palm of my hand.

After doing so and bows just as he did upon entering the room and leaves the room the same way he came in.

I look up at Esin with a slightly red face and a soft grin on my face, "I guess I should start getting ready and you should go ask my mother for permission for me to go to the gardens now, " I say trying to hide my joy.

Esin chuckles and nods her head, "if you insist my sultana!" She said grinning before turning away from me and walking out of my rooms off to find my mother.

Once the doors fully close I let out a big giggle and fall onto my bed holding the book close to my chest.

My very first encounter with a boy around my age and I didn't completely ruin it! Great success!

In the middle of my giggles of joy, another knock comes to my door, and without even thinking of who it could be I shout the word "pass" but once the door swings open I realize what I had done.

Jumping up from my bed I toss the book on the floor by accident but instead of going to get it I just stare at the door waiting for whoever is walking through my doors.

Surprisingly, once again a boy who looks to be around the same age as me walks through my doors.

Before I can ask any questions or say anything he takes it upon himself to speak first.

"Hello Sultana, I am Sehzade Selim and I have come to tell you that we will be eating together in the gardens today, " Selim spoke with his head raised.

"I'm sorry Sehzade but that is impossible for me to do because I already have plans to eat in the gardens with your brother Bayezid, " I say taking a quick glance towards the book I threw on the floor which makes my heart glow just thinking about Bayezid.

"I can't believe he did that, " Selim muttered angrily as his face began to turn a red color.

I tilt my head and am confused, "what are you talking about Sehzade?" I ask curiously.

Slim scoffs, "our mother told us both to ask if you wanted to eat with us in the gardens but of course, Bayezid being the snake he is, he decided to come greet you before me to try to get on your good side, " he explains with a frustrated look on his face.

My eyes widen. So he just asked me and showed interest in me just to annoy his brother? Pathetic

I clear my throat before speaking up, "do not worry Sehzade, you too can join me im the gardens to eat, so then I can get to know you more, I favor no one but Allah so there is no need to worry, " I said with a grin on my face.

Upon hearing what I said Selim's frustrated look washed off his face and a child-like grin came onto his face.

"Thank you, Sultana, and I apologize for my brother's foolish actions, " he said smiling.

I shake my head, "it is all fine, we shall eat and all get to know each other, there shall not be any competition, " I spoke with joy.

author's note!

I really love writing for this story but I want it to be better than my other stories so im going to take it slow so that is why the updates take so long but don't worry because this book is one of my main focuses at the moment.

Comment who you want Eslime to end up with, she can't be with both so she must choose who she wants to spend the rest of her days with!

The story with start with them as children but that is only part one and that part will only have 5 chapters before a major time jump happens and they are adults and all the real drama happens.
