A/N: Last chapter up ahead :'(

I wake up in a daze. With the blindfold, I can't see anything. I can, however, feel that I'm sitting in a hard chair in a cold room. I can hear a dripping noise coming from somewhere. When I try to take my blindfold off, I'm stopped by the coarse texture of a rope that's tightly wrapped around my hands and behind my back. 

Is this hell?

My first thought isn't why I'm blindfolded, in a chair, with my hands tied.

No, my first thought is why I can even think in the first place. I'm supposed to me dead.

"He's awake," someone says.

I feel a hand pulling off my blind fold and I squint at the light. There's not much light to begin with, but the feint light hanging from the ceiling really gets me. The person I recognize that took my blind fold off is Mr Wessils. He keeps a blank expression as he steps back into the darkness.

When I try to speak, I realize how dry my throat is.

"What's going on?" I ask and shake my head so my dark bangs are out of my eyes and I can see better. 

There are people in the shadows, but I don't recognize anyone. They're faces are too obscured by the darkness.

"You were found in your car. The South has saved you," someone says behind me.

I try craning my neck to see who it is, but can't. I look around frantically and suddenly notice the grey jackets everyone's wearing with a downward yellow arrow. The South has me... Why? How? What is going on?

"Why?" I end up asking.

The person behind me takes a few steps to my side and I see them briefly in the corner of my eye. "Because we just recently heard the news of Amber Marigold and Xavier Jilten. Everyone knows the North is up for grabs now that its leader broke their promise. We think that since Amber Marigold really likes her friends, you'd make a wonderful hostage," the person explains.

"And who are you? One of the Southern leaders?" I scoff.

I hear him laugh as he comes to stand in front of me. What shocks me is the person he has his arm draped around...

"Myra?" I ask.

Myra has her purple wig on and looks down at my words. She doesn't look comfortable. Especially with the very short and revealing black dress and unbelievably high hills. She doesn't make eye contact and instead continues to stand there like a trophy.

Myra is involved with the South? All this time she... she was a spy?

"Sean Shavell, there's only one Southern Leader now - finally. And you're looking at him. You're going to help me bring Amber here. I already have Jaaco that gained her trust, now you must gain her attention," the guy explains.

I look at him and know, just know he looks familiar. But I can't exactly pin point from where... He's definitely older than me, but I can't see that it's by many years.

From where do I know him?

"You aren't going to succeed," I snarl, "Amber doesn't even know I exist. And she'll stop you regardless. Whatever game you've been playing, it's over. This war has ended and you have lost."

There's a pause as the guy in front of me has his smile grow. "Oh, poor Sean Shavell... The war has not ended," he laughs. Everyone around us laughs as well. The only person not laughing is Myra in her purple wig and Jaaco that's watching silently.

But this time when the guy looks back at me, I suddenly know where I've seen that black hair and silver eyes before...

"The war has just begun," Kyle Bowmen says with a smirk.
