HELP!

Sometimes I just want to take people and bash their heads in.

The dark brown wolf stalked towards me slowly. My feet scraped against the dirt, trying to get as much space in between us as possible. As he bared his sharp canines at me I raised my arms up to shield my face. The big wolf growled, probably wanting me to cry, savoring my fear.

Too bad for him.

"Go on then, Kill me!" I shouted. He snarled at me and I snarled back. The wolf did a double take at that.

He swiped at my face, but I ducked behind a tree just in time.

The wolf seemed to narrow its eyes before he growled again and tensed, ready to pounce.

I closed my eyes and braced myself for the impact. But it never came. I peeled one eye open and saw the wolf being blocked by another wolf, this one a midnight black color.

The black one stood in front of me and growled menacingly. I felt the dominance radiating off of him as the brown wolf started running towards us. The black wolf sprinted to him too and intercepted him. As they brawled I used the distraction to push myself up to a shaky stand and I staggered away, my eyes searching for Kenzie.

I finally found her up in a tree, yelling curses at the other wolf. I called out to her, just as a sandy blonde wolf ran up and tackled the brown one.

"Kenz! Get down here!" I called up and she nodded and slid out of the oak. Her feet hit the dirt right next me and Kenzie grabbed my hand and together we started hobbling away.

Unfortunately for us, the black and blonde wolves had already chased the brown wolves away and they dashed over to us and blocked our path abruptly. I stumbled back, crashing into Kenzie and we both fell.

"Uh, please don't eat us! I'm almost positive we don't taste very good-"

"Speak for yourself," I cut in to her rambling. "I bet I taste wonderful."

"Not helping," She hissed. The black wolf gave something that resembled a lopsided grin while the blonde let out a throaty chuckle I think.

Something in my face must've changed because the wolf hesitated and then kneeled on the ground. The blonde did the same and Kenzie gave me a puzzled look.

"Ok, well cool. Nice talking to you," Kenzie said and she turned to leave. I matched her stride and the wolves didn't protest as we walked away, into the forest.

About another 20 minutes later, I made out a large white building in the distance.

"Look, civilization!" I cried out to Kenzie, pointing. She grinned and we quickened our pace until we finally burst through and saw the large house.

It was huge and vaguely familiar with two men standing in the doorway, their arms crossed. Also vaguely familiar.
Hmmm, where have I-
Oh.

I cursed under my breath and waved nervously at Jason and Luke. "Oh, uh, hey guys! Small world, huh?"

"Minuscule," Jason narrowed his eyes at me.

"Well, lovely seeing you again!" Kenzie said and we turned to leave, until Jason called out to us.

"Hold it right there."

We sighed and begrudgingly walked inside, knowing that this was a fight we couldn't win.

In the living room I plopped myself down on the leather couch and Kenz sat beside me. The guys sat down across from us on velvet love seats.

"We have something to tell you guys," Jason said, for once the joking tone in his voice was gone.

"I'm listening?" Kenzie said and I narrowed my eyes, unsure of where this was going.

Jason took a deep breath, "Ok, I guess I'll just come right out and say it. The guys in the forest weren't eaten by wolves."

"Ok, How do you know about that? And why are we talking about that," I asked.

He hesitated, "We'll get to that later."

Luke sat forward, "look, I know you don't exactly trust us right now-"

Kenzie scoffed, "That's an understatement."

"But," Jason cut back in, "What I was going to say was that they weren't eaten. They...shifted."

There was a pause.

"Into what?" I asked.

"Um...you know, just the usual..." Jason said, for once looking a bit unnerved. "They shifted into...werewolves."

There was a moment of silence.

"Are you going to say anything?" Luke finally said.

Me and Kenzie exchanged a look. Then we turned back to the guys and stared. Werewolves? Yeah, wolves my butt.

"And also, not to drop the bomb or anything, but we are also werewolves. Just saying," Jason added.

Another moment of silence. I couldn't believe I'd gone from almost being eaten alive to being told this bogus story.

I squinted and stared at Jason for a moment. Then I moved on to Luke.

"What are you looking at?" Luke asked  in a hard voice.

I squinted even more, "That's what I'm trying to figure out."

Jason smirked while Luke narrowed his eyes back at me. Then he turned and cast his frosty gaze on Jason, who put his hands up in the air.

"I'm serious," Luke growled. "We are part of one of the strongest packs in America, Jason here is the Alpha and I'm his Beta, his second in command."

I laughed unhumorously, "Wow, you must really be the cool kids then."

"We are!" Luke insisted. "We also have these little voices inside of us who tell us what to do."

We all were silent for a minute as he realized how disturbing that sounded.

"I didn't-"

"Are you crazy?" I asked. "Never mind, I already know the answer."

Jason smirked, "Well, would you like a demonstration?"

I leaned forward with the glint of a dare in my eyes, "Please."
