I open the door to see a police officer, "good evening officer, can I help you with something" I ask "are you Athena Rose?" my heart began to beat thinking something bad happened. "Yes I am, is everything ok?" he stayed silent making my heart beat faster "I'm sorry, but I have to inform you that your mother was in a fatal accident, she has passed away. If you could just come to the office with me" my eyes widen.... she's ... gone... as much as I hated her... Somehow even after all the scars, bruises and things she said to me.... hearing those words made me cry.

we had arrived at the police station where I signed a few papers. They had given me a few things that she had on her. I began to tremble as I called Diane, I see her running inside as her body crashed into mine as I cried into her and she petted my head" shh everything is gonna be ok come on let's go back home"

after we got home, I told Diane everything that happened

"are you still going out with Zander tomorrow morning, I mean I think you should go or at least go out I don't think you should be alone" she said while hugging me " I have you, I'm never alone" I smiled before saying goodnight.

how do I even tell Zac? how do I tell him?

by the time morning, I felt like I was hit by a brick wall "good morning Athena. I made some breakfast if you're hungry" Diane said calmly knowing that I wasn't hungry. I look to see the Zac was no longer with me. I walk out of the room to see him and Tony eating and playing games while watching TV, I think I'm going to go freshen up. I walk into her shower and begin to undress "I'm leaving you a towel and some clothes to wear" Diane says if you think it's weird to share clothes then your mistaken, ware practically sisters. After my nice hot shower, I walk out to see Zac waiting behind the door. "...I know what happened to mommy." I look at him in shock... he heard me talking to Diane last night.

I look across the room to see Diane drop a pancake on the floor as she heard what he said.

"Umm, let's go sit down," I say as I hold Zac and sit down with him... " so mommy she... she not going to be with us anymore" he mumbles not knowing how to say it I may have messed up. "where is she?" he says making my heartbreak I sob for a split second as I put him in my lap "she is with daddy," I say as he turns to look up "you mean in heaven?" A tear fell from his eye " y-yeah .... she's in heaven" I began to wipe his tears. I know she wasn't always there for him and I know that he feared her. But in the end, he loved her so much he cried at night because he knew she didn't love him.

My heart broke into pieces as I heard his cry's yelling the words "mommy" and " mama"

"Shhh please don't cry everything is gonna be ok" I hold him tightly as he continues to cry. Diane standing by the door as Tony begins to cry from hearing Zac crying.

Now everyone is crying.

10 minutes passed and everyone has stopped crying...

"Do you wanna go get some ice cream" Zac nods just head.

"Thank you so much for everything Diane I'm thinking today it will be me and him, but I'll text you if anything happens," I say giving her a big hug " you better I love you so much sis," she says as she hugs me tightly. I then take Zac

Zander! I look at the time and realize it's 10 am

I then pick up my phone a give him a call

"Hello?" I hear his voice

"Hey..." I then let him know what happened and cancel he was completely ok with it.

Just before I called a cab, I hear a honk

"who's that," Zac says pointing at a very beautiful car, the door opens and the one person I don't wanna see today ..." Damon what are you doing here?" I ask

"I got a call from your friend Diane.... she told me what happened, so I came right away" damn its Diane she set me up

Diane's P.O.V

Oh, she's gonna kill me. Last night her phone kept ringing and ringing. So, I answered it and it was Damon. He has explained everything that happened, and I felt bad for Athena, he seems like he only wants to do good, but I know she was hurt because she has feelings for him but won't admit it.

*Flashback*

"Listen you can't just apologize you have some nerve calling," I say thinking about my own situation with my ex-husband...

"I know and I will make it up to her. What happened today was just a misunderstanding I need to talk to Athena " he stated with a very hard tone. "She's sleeping right now... she's having a rough night" I stayed silent thinking about what happened " what happened! is she ok, where is she!" He began to get wiled up. " I can't tell you, but I hope she can. Pick her up tomorrow morning. "I said while he stayed silent. I hope she can open to him and he can tell her what happened. I let him know my address before saying goodbye.

*Flashback Over*

Athena's P.O. V

I stare at Damon as he gets out of his car walking towards me. I then feel Zac hiding behind my legs. Damon then crouches down to where Zac is "hello, you must be Zac I heard a lot about you" Zac peaks his head out "y-you did" he shyly says "oh yeah I heard how strong and fast you are, not to mention how smart you are too. You're gonna get a lot of girls" Damon said as Zac began beaming with joy as I gasped and smacked Damon's arm lightly "don't say that to him he's still a kid" I say rapidly after hearing what he said. I then see Damon holding Zac in his arms flying him around like an airplane. Zac began to smile and laugh as Damon played with him. That's so cute I thought to myself " come let me take you guys somewhere" he said as Zac was still laughing from what happened "Let's go!!" Zac cheered. I smiled as we got into the car

"so, where are we going" I ask while Damon drives "well my family are having a BBQ and I thought it would be a nice idea if you and your brother came with me" I then realized that I'm going to meet his family. I began to blush but remembering what happened yesterday, so I forced myself to keep a straight face.

After 15 minutes of driving we pull up to a large mansion. "this is beautiful" I gasp as Zac screamed " WHOAAAA" I laughed holding on to his arm "come one everyone's waiting to meet you" I smile as I walk in to see the beautiful interior of the house "Damon" a voice said I turned my head to almost get stunned with beauty, his mother was gorgeous "hello Ms. Black it's a pleasure to meet you"
"Please, call me Anna. I'm so glad that my little Damon has finally found such a kind and beautiful girl" she says as I began to blush "honey you're embracing her, my name is Henry and who is this" he looks down to see Zac hiding behind my legs "m-my name is Zac" he said in a very shy tone. He's so cute. "Don't be shy, would you like to come with me, we have kids your age who would love to meet you" Anna spoke softly as he nodded his head holding out his hand, so she holds on to it.

They then walk out to the outside as he sees a large playhouse. His eyes began to sparkle as he ran to play with the other kids "be careful" I called out

"Athena their's something we need to talk about" I look to Damon as his voice was low. He was very serious. He then took me aside and began to explain to me everything that happened, but I still couldn't help but feel hurt "please you have to believe me" he said making my heart proud "I would never hurt you" he said making me want to hug him but I can't. " I-I don't know Damon," I say while biting my lip and looking away from him " he then pulled me into a surprising hug "please you're so precious to me and although I don't know as much as I'd hope to. I still want a chance to make things right" I hesitated but I can feel how sincere he is with me right now

"come on you too the food is ready" his mother exclaimed popping me out of my thoughts. As we went to eat, I was introduced to Damon's sister she was quite lovely. The sun began to set as we played games and had lots of fun.

I looked over to see Zac sitting on a chair by himself. I went and picked him up putting him in my lap, "Hey what's the matter aren't you having fun?" I ask him to know damn well why he's not feeling ok... " I see kids with. *sniff sniff* mommy's and*sniff* daddy's and, and I don't have a mommy or a daddy" he looks up at me with watery eyes as I begin to cry " shh baby you will always have me" I then notice Damon's eyes beaming towards us as he drops what he was doing and instantly is by our side. He then picks us both up surprising me and Zac as he carries us to the guest room. I blush as he lets us down Zac just sat down on the bed already about to fall asleep from how tired he was. Damon then went to Zac wiping his tears and placing him under the sheets " you know what tomorrow is" Damon said to Zac making Zac shake his head not knowing the answer. " tomorrow I'm gonna take you and your sister somewhere really amazing and fun would you like that?" Zac begins to cheer up as he hugs Damon, the sight of it made me smile and tear up. Zac was instantly asleep. We closed the lap next to him having the lighting in the room dim.

"Please mi amore (my love) tell me why are you crying" he lifts my chin having me staring into his eyes as my tears stream down my face as he gently wipes my tears away.

I begin to tell him everything that has happened from my father to my mother and how she treated us and my mother's recent passing. I could tell he didn't know how to react. Whether to be furious that we were being treated like this or sad for the sudden passing. "I know it's a lot to take in, but when I see Zac cry, I can't help it" I then sob before he holds me tightly.

"Please listen to my words my princess, I won't let anything, and I mean anything happens to you or Zac. I'm truly sorry for what happened and I'm truly sorry that I wasn't with you before. I would have done everything in my power to save you and help your family. I never want to see you or your brother sad or crying. Your happiness and his happiness is my happiness." I look at him as he said all those words that opened my heart. I smashed my lips to his.

Having us enveloped in a beautiful and passionate kiss I lightly moaned as he bit my bottom lip but instantly broke us apart not wanting Zac to wake up.

"Will you be my girlfriend?" he says smoothly making me smile as I gently place another kiss on his lips "yes" I said before I attack him with a hug.

"You know for a tough guy that acts all mean and scary you're actually a kind softy on the inside," I say making him smirk "only to you I am but believe me I'm anything but soft" he then winks at me making me gasp and blush. He let out a laugh but instantly covering his mouth not wanting to wake Zac up. He placed a kiss on my forehead saying goodnight
