hey beautiful readers.

I was very hesitant about whether to address this, but after some thought, I've come to the conclusion that despite being a small one, I do have a platform, and it's important to talk about these things.

The situation in America devastates me, what has happened to George Floyd, and probably many incidents before him that simply weren't filmed and not brought to the media's attention, has really showed how far we still have to go, and that we're kidding ourselves if we believe that we have reached the level of having an equal society.

I'm not an American, and I'm white, so I felt for a while that it wasn't my place to say anything, but I've some to the conclusion that this should be everyone's fight. Race, religion, sexuality, every single person on this planet is a human being and therefore should be treated with respect.

The people who say all lives matter, they do, but you need to fight for people's lives that still don't matter to certain parts of society in order for that statement to ring true.

The fact that a police officer, someone who is in charge of keeping peace, and protecting the people, would commit such an awful crime because of something so insignificant as someone's skin colour is shameful, and a disgrace to humanity.

If any of you are in America, or attending the protests, please please please be careful, because far too may people have been hurt already.

If they are using pepper spray, don't wear contact lenses, the residue sticks to them and irritates your eyes.

Sign the petitions, raise awareness, but most importantly I beg you to stay safe, because one life is already far too many lives to be taken.

"I'm not black, but I see you.

I'm not black, but I hear you.

I'm not black, but I mourn with you.

I'm not black, but I will fight for you."

Rest in Peace George Floyd, and everyone who has come before and after him.
