Colet's POV

I was standing in the middle of the restaurant with Keith. I wasn't able to react when I saw Jhoanna and I got confused with what she said before leaving. What the hell just happened? I yelled when I felt Keith pinched my ear.

"Idiot! Why are you still standing here? Go chase the love of your life!" she said.

"Huh? I don't understand, she left." I told her while pointing the exit.

"Of course she misunderstood it. She thought we're building a family now." Keith shook her head. Damn!

 
"I should run after her, right?" I whispered, not knowing what to do.

"Oh for the love of God, Colet! You're so slow!" Keith yelled again and pushed me towards the exit of the restaurant.

Keith and I was never became a 'thing'. Yes, I used to like her and she's still special to me but what I feel for her is something I also feel for Maloi, Sheena, Mikha, Aiah, Stacey, and Gwen. Pure platonic. Plus, before she came back to the Philippines, she's already engage with her long time boyfriend. Now, she's married. We're here for a vacation and I agreed to be their third-wheel. My gut feeling is telling me to come with them. I didn't know what's the reason not until I crossed path with Jhoanna again.

For five years? I'm just in our country. Exploring life, helping less fortunate in some remote areas while working as an Architect and being hands on with my resort.

As for Jhoanna, I was there when she graduated from college as Cum Laude. I was also there when his grandfather passed away. I've never been so proud of her. But I don't have courage to show up then.

Seeing her here tonight in Japan of all places shocked me the most. You see, fate brought us back together. God's perfect timing is always worth the wait.

I got all my things and kissed Keith on her cheeks before running away to chase Jhoanna.

I saw here entered the same hotel where I am staying so I went to the reception area to ask for her.

"Miss, may I ask for Jhoanna Robles' hotel room number?" I pleased, hoping she'll help me.

"I'm sorry but we can't give you confidential details about our guests. Just call her and tell her you're here." she replied.

 
"Miss, that girl is the love of my life. I just saw her entered here. Please help me continue our love story. Please!" if I have to kneel down just to get Jhoanna's hotel room, I'll do it. I'm now desperate.

 
"Ma'am I'm truly touched with that but Miss Jhoanna Robles already checked out." she answered. I thanked her and went out of the hotel with a heavy heart.

Where could you possibly go, Jho?

I was about to go back to the restaurant where Keith and her husband were in there when I saw a car approaching me.

"Come on! I saw Jhoanna held a taxi with her luggage. Let's follow her to the airport!" Keith yelled. I quickly entered their car.

"Thank you!" I said.

This is our time, babe. No more letting go this time.

When we arrived, I ran to the entrance, not minding the securities. I searched for her in the sea of the crowd.

Good afternoon passengers. This is the pre-boarding announcement for flight 89B to Philippines. We are now inviting those passengers with small children, and any passengers requiring special assistance, to begin boarding at this time. Please have your boarding pass and identification ready. Regular boarding will begin in approximately ten minutes time. Thank you!

Fuck! That must be her flight going back to our country. I must find her immediately.

When I still can't find her, I took one security guard's megaphone and run as fast as I can so he won't chase me.

"Jhoanna Christine Robles, where are you!?" I shouted using the megaphone. I am so desperate to mind other people's gaze.

"What are you doing here!?" I turned around and saw her staring at me. Tears still flowing down her face. I can see pain in her eyes.  I hugged her so tight, as if I don't want her to let go.

"I love you so much, Jho. I miss you. Damn! Keith and I aren't together. You misunderstood it. Babe, it'll always be you." I said while hugging her.

She forcefully got out of my hug and slapped me. "Jho, what —-" she didn't let me finish a sentence. "That's for leaving me for five long years!" she shouted.

I touched my right cheek. She didn't let me recover because she slapped me again, in my left cheek this time. "That's for cutting all your communications with me." she said. I feel like my face is getting numb.

"And this, because after everything that happened, this crazy little heart of mine only beats for you. I still love you so much after five years, Colet." she whispered and pulled me closer for a long passionate kiss.

After the kiss, she gave me that smile that makes her eyes disappear. That made my heart melt. And even after five years, she can still make my heart melt with that smile alone.

"Hi." She whispered.

"Jhoanna." I said with the same low voice.

She crouched down, her eyes bore into mine.

"Oh gosh. I missed you so much." Her eyes are close as she said that, like the feeling is too much for her.

"I thought we'd never be here at the same time." My voice cracked.

I can't hold back my tears anymore. With a blurry vision I saw tears flowing down her
face. I reached for her hand, and my heart swelled with the way I touch it.

I held it with so much tenderness. Not because I'm afraid we might have to let go again but because we're holding each other's hand again. Without worrying.

"I can wait for another two years, five years, ten years but that right time we're waiting for will never come. There's nothing that can say when time is right for us, problem will always be there and if we'll wait for to be gone, there will be no time for us. I believe in destiny, Jhoanna but my best friend is also right, we make our own destiny." Unable to hold back, I wrapped my arms around her neck, hiding my face at the crook if it.

And when we pulled away, stared at each other's eyes. We said something that we never got to hear from each other before. Something we never stopped saying.

We never stopped doing.

At the same time we said, "I love you."

The entangling of our souls is my greatest adventure, the one series of memories that I will see in flashes when the universe takes me back.

Jhoanna, you are my greatest adventure.

To be with her again is the safest I have ever felt. I could think of nothing but peace and it is easier to breathe.

It feels like even if the world would be crumbling before our eyes, it won't matter because l am with her. She gave me safe space to be vulnerable, to make mistakes and learn from it. She made me feel that everything is valid. That I can be a person who's capable of becoming more.

The best thing I've learned about being with her is that - love accepts, love endures, and love waits.
