First Day Gone Wrong

Athena had made a significant rule that day.

First, was to never restore her warm blood with burning alcohol. Second, hit the bed before fucking 5am especially if she has school the next day.

A new school.

"How's your head, darling?" Ace cooed her into his arms, offering her a pill meant to ease headaches.

She quickly swallowed it while Ace's hand combed through her raven black, silently showing his concern and guilt for having her too much bourbon too drink the night before.

"I don't know. Its like a fucking balloon right now. It either wants to deflate or explode." She fisted and let her whitened knuckles massage her temple monstrously. "And!" She exclaimed out of the blue which caused Ace to flinch. "My first period at A-List is about to start!" She grappled Ace's arm. "A-fucking-List, Ace!" She reiterated in alarm.

"And I'm still standing in their hallways with a gigantic hangover. I'm screwed. Totally and utterly screwed!"

Ace pulled her into his chest, forcing his strong cologne to rush into Athena's lungs. That scent lulled her always and he knew it.

"Calm down, Princess. A-List is not as scary as you think when you get to know it." It is and beyond. "Now instead of freaking out, let's get you your very own schedule." He exposed his perfect whites with a boyish smile.

If anyone, it was only Ace who could successfully tame Athena's precarious thoughts with only a few words.

They turned through endless junctions, buildings after buildings with Ace leading her to the office. "Gosh... I hope yours will be the spitting of mine," Ace said over his shoulder.

"Why? Can't keep yourself away from this venerable one even a minute?" Athena teased.

Ace huffed a laugh, content of her being back to herself. "Nope," as cliche as it sounds, he popped the 'p'. "Not even a sec, Princess."

He halted his steps for her to catch up then he put an arm around her. It was one of the many signs he miserably attempted again and again to show her his affections. Not only it failed every time, it only made his heart clench and he fell for her harder like it was the first day.

Just when Athena was about to breathe out a relief sigh in his warmth, she felt dreadful gazed of the classy bitches while some had a tinge of confused look on.

Oh, she knew what's up alright. Only God knows the godzillian times of late night hours she spent watching 'Mean Girls'.

These jealous self proclaimed Queen Bee's had branded Ace as their very own and so now why their supposed King would throw his regal arm over a peasant's filthy shoulder?

"Look at her nose. It's hammered into a bloody pepperoni," a red head from the right insulted with an annoying high-pitched voice.

Oh look, someone's face is as fake as her Gucci bag. How Athena wished to be gutsy one in the movies to stand her ground but her reality check kicked in and she only flashed that girl a small grin that caused her nose to broaden somemore.

Ace tightened his grip on her shoulder to create a feeble barrier from the interminable appalling gossips that ranted through their ears.

Looking up at him, she saw him keeping a straight face. Knowing Ace, he wouldn't interfere with almost anything, always fearful of his mother and her grotesque reputation.

Athena was right when they arrived at the office. It was bigger than the school itself, it that was even possible.

"Take a look at your schedule." Ace grinned, slipping a device into her grip before shoving his into his back pockets. Upon looking at the device, Athena's eyes fluttered to the first period.

Subject: Biology
Teacher: Mr. Grey

Of course. Of all names.

"We have everything the same babe except for the last period but we can always skip that one and go for some of your favourite ramen. So don't worry, you surely can survive college with me as your knight." He winked, crossing his arms, his head pivoting to the side as to pose like one or the Greek myths.

"Pfft... My Knight? The baffoon? Not dashing and nor handsome. I don't want it." She scrunched up her nose. To her, it was a petty joke but that joke did spiked Ace's heart a little. But, she didn't need to know that.

Ace parted his lips, a hand on his chest," She just called me 'it'. "

That earned him a sweet chuckle.

When Athena dropped her white suitcase beside her table, she was hell bent sure it wasn't the only thing that dropped. Her jaw and shoulders went along.

If A-List wasn't considered a zoo then what was it? Never had she pictured the solemn school that her rich friend and idol went were for hyena's to attend.

A goth girl with baby pink Bob was hanging on the ceiling, two girls were dueling with a real sword at the back of the classroom and she didn't even have time to wonder where they got it from as she was distracted by another group of atrocious sight: Four student were humping in the edges of the tables.

How nice.

When it was Ace's turn to step in, the atmosphere quickly fell quiet into a pindrop silent, students greeted him and did sloppy handshakes, leaving one of Athena's eyebrows to lift. Not bad.

It only occurred to her that it made no difference of them being in the same class when Ace sunk into the furthest seat possible from her as he chatted away with a few buddies.

She began picking on the side of her fingernails while holding the splurge of jittery breaths, waiting for the arrival of Mr. Grey. She wouldn't have noticed the irresponsible teacher was late until her fingers became sore and red.

A guy behind her questioned, "I guess Mr. Grey is spending too much of his quality time in the red room today," and she couldn't agree more.

"Oh my God! Oh my God! Drama people!" A spectacle boy shamelessly yelled at the top of his lungs in the corridor. "The four Heavenly Gods are punishing Mr. Grey at the front entrance!"

In two shakes, all students sprinted to the big windows to watch the event. Athena had to squeeze herself through to get a tiny peek of the situation.

There, she saw an elderly in which she assumed was Mr. Grey, having the oxygen knocked out of his chest by the heavy golden gate of A-List. "What the actual..." She blurted.

Seeing no one was responding, Athena reckoned these 'dramas' happened every so often. How could someone be this brutal?

With vehemence spiraling inside of her, for the first time in so many years, she chose to act in good faith. That was until she felt a hand seize her.

"Elise, stay out of this. I told you many times not to do anything stupid when you get here," Ace warned, his warm eyes were no longer present, his dark orbs resembled an obsidian.

"But I'm not going to pretend to put on a blind eye like all of you. Now let me go!" She pulled away but Ace pryed onto her. "Ath-" He halted. "Elise! You don't know what the hell you are putting your hands on! Listen to me and don't meddle! They aren't anyone to mess with!" He tried to be quiet but the words tumbled out louder than before.

"I used to be a bad person Ace, I want to make things right in the longest time." Straight after, Mr. Grey's screams flooded through the school. With that, she yanked herself out of Ace's death grip and dashed out of the door.

"So Ric, any idea why Xerus is absent today?" Felix fisted Mr. Grey's collar tearing a slight of the fabric before hurling him into the gate, making the poor man retch in agony.

"I've tried calling him a million times. That spiked one shut his phone off. No one can reach him," Ricardo explained, his hands busy with keeping Mr. Grey still between the gate's crevice, only for Derek to slam the majestic gate into his ribs.

"Please... Stop. I - I'm sorry," Mr. Grey croaked desperately.

"Sorry teach, these are orders from Xerus and you know the drill. Though he's poor ass isn't here." Derek held his chin, eyes to the left, pondering over the reason Xerus had shut everyone out.

"But it was entirely your fault Grey. Xerus ain't crazy. If you hadn't been so foolish enough to slid hidden cameras into our hotel rooms and take those tapes and pictures, you would be let off the hook. Ain't it right?" Derek turned to Theo who had his legs sinuously crossed, his head hung low, too engrossed in his novel at the bench not far away.

Theo gave an ambiguous nod without tearing his attention off of his page. Derek shook his head slightly at Theo's unwavering reaction before closing in to Mr. Grey's face.

"Now where were we? Oh right, in all honesty, I really enjoyed your classes and you're one of my favs," He admitted to the quivering senior. "Too bad this whole thing is going to degrade your lifelong hardwork career."

He laughed. "Actually, what career. You won't even have a job after this. I'll make sure of that." Derek's chestnut skin that matches his hair was iridescent under the Sun. It made his wild being glow and that made him all the more horrifying in Mr. Grey's eyes.

Felix rummaged into one of his inner pockets of his leathery jacket to reveal a few cutleries. One would have been certain that he had OCD and had even prepared his own eating utensils for a meal out.

In truth, forks are for piercing one's warm flesh, spoons are probably best when being inflamed by his lighter to get answers out of someone and everyone knows what knives are for.

Only seconds before he drive the silver into Mr. Grey's stomach, a tentative shriek jolted him. "Who the fuck?!" He spun around to capture the source.
