It was a cold winter in Moscow, Russia. I was walking with my younger brother George and younger sister Anya through our garden in our home the Tauride Palace. I was the oldest and first born daughter. My name is Katiya Alexandrovich.

"My ladies, my lord his Grace would you to come back to the palace" one of my mother's servants told us. "Let's go back little ones father wants us back."I tell my siblings and we walk back together. 

"Gentlemen this is my eldest daughter Lady Katiya" my father announces to the gentlemen beside him. "Katiya come forward and meet Alexei your future husband"

This was when my world came crashing down. I didn't want to get married and especially to this man who was not my type. But of course father will not take no for an answer. He would want his children to make influential marriages that help and only interest him.

I left to go visit my mother in her room. 

"Mother I think you have heard about my marriage" I asked her the moment I entered her room.

"Of course I have dear I was the one who suggested it to your father" mother went to grab my hand but I swiftly pulled away from her. 

"Mother how could you, how could you marry me off to a man I don't know or think I will ever love "I shouted at her.

"It is out of the question Katiya you will marry him" Mother retorted. I felt anger rise up inside me.

"To hell with you mother and father I hate you mother How could you force your child to get married" and with that I left angrily from my mother's room.

"My lady what is wrong" my maid Darya asked me.

"How can I be ok Darya my parents are forcing me to marry a man I don't know" I cried in her arms as she comforted me.

"Don't worry my lady I will always be with you" Darya told me and she held comfortingly. After a while I went to see my father.

"Katia I know you aren't happy with this arrangement I am sorry" Father said as he took my hand.

"It's ok father I will marry him for the sake of our family" 

"Thank you Katiya your mother help you get ready"
