Kayla

After the movie fiasco and that revelation, I've been hiding away. I didn't want to face any of them. Andre, Josh, and Chris are all cousins. I never knew that. Josh never said anything about him and Chris being related. Maybe he didn't know? No, that can't be. They were hanging out together. And if Andre knows and they know Andre then they have to know.

This can't be a coincidence, could it? They're all cousins. How can that be? Why am I just now finding out about this? Is this some sick joke? A cruel twist of fate? Am I being tested again?

My phone dinged letting me know I got another text. It was probably Andre again. I've been ignoring all of his texts and calls. I had no idea how to react to this bit of news. I was freaked out and had no idea how to handle the news. I looked at my phone and was surprised to see it was a text from Josh.

Josh: Can we meet up?

I was surprised because we rarely text nowadays. He's always busy with his classes or football. I wonder why he texted me now. Is it because of the movie thing? Does he know I know Chris is his cousin? Why didn't he tell me? Questions kept flashing through my mind back and forth. I needed answers.

Me: Where?

Josh: Diner in 10?

Me: Okay

I got off of my bed and got my shoes on. Am I stupid for doing this? I don't think I am. There are questions I need to be answered and Josh is the only person I can go to for those answers. I peeked my head into the living room and saw that April wasn't here. I sighed in relief before hurrying out the door. I got in my car and headed to the diner. It was pretty busy considering it was the middle of the day. But I was able to pick Josh out in the far back. I made my way to him and sat across him. "Hey," I said nervously.

"Hey," he mumbled. "You uh...you haven't been coming to class."

"Yeah," I said. "I've been...busy."

"You've been to your other classes though." Busted. "I just wanted to know-"

"Why didn't you tell me you and Chris were cousins?" I asked.

His eyes widened a bit. "H-He told you?"

"Yes," I said. "Why didn't you?"

He looked off somewhere. "I...I didn't think it was important."

"You didn't think telling me the person who's been harassing me shares the same bloodline as you?" I could see him squirming in his seat. "Is that why...you never stood up for me?"

"N-No," he stammered. "You know why. He's captain of the team. You don't want to make things awkward for me."

"Right," I mumbled. "But you still should've mentioned it. He's your cousin right? If you would've just said something he might've-"

"Chris is his own person. No matter what I would've said wouldn't have made a difference."

"Oh," I mumbled. I had this feeling in the pit of my stomach that I didn't like. It made me sick.

"I'm...sorry about the other night. Pretending I didn't know you."

"Why'd you do it? That really hurt you know. It's like you were shrugging off our friendship."

"I wasn't it's just..." he sighed. "It's Andre. If I told him I knew you...things would've ended badly."

"What are you talking about?"

"Andre. He's very...possessive and obsessive. He has dangerous mood swings. And a very bad attitude and temper. He loses his top over everything. Especially towards other guys when it comes to a girl he's interested in. You'd think he was some wild animal."

"Are you serious?" I asked. "But he was always so nice-"

He nodded. "Yeah well, that's how it all starts. That's why I asked you here. I wanted to warn you. You need to be careful with him. Andre can be dangerous. He...he can't even see his own kid because of how dangerous he can be."

"H-He has a k-kid?" I muttered. I never got the feeling that Andre could cause me any harm but then again don't all girls feel that way towards the alluring kind? I've seen the perfect guy and the girl had no idea that he was crazy until it was too late. A lot of LMN movies with a creepy stalker never really know until it's too late.

I'm so confused and stuck right now. Should I believe him? Maybe I should ask Andre? No, I can't do that. Does a crazy person ever admit to being crazy if you outright ask them? I had so much fun with him. Was that a part of his plan? Wait until my guard is down before striking? I haven't known Andre long at all. Josh is his cousin. He's known him since birth probably. I've known Josh since middle school. I think I should trust him.

"You should leave him alone," Josh said. "I'm only saying this to protect you."

I nodded. "I know Josh. Thanks." I smiled at him. "I know you wouldn't lead me wrong." Something flashed in his eyes before he smiled and nodded. He wouldn't lead me wrong...would he?

Andre

"She ain't answer you back?" Shawn asked. He had a toothbrush in his mouth while fixing his clothes. He was going on another date with April. They really hit it off and were going out almost every day. That would be me and Kayla but for whatever reason, she's been ignoring me. I've been trying to see what was up but she wouldn't answer my texts or calls. I probably seem like a stalker but really I'm worried about her. We were doing well until the movies. She reacted really badly when we saw Josh and Chris and it has me a bit suspicious.

"Nah," I sighed. I'm getting to the point where I'm just like fuck it. I haven't known her long enough to be pressed like this but I feel like I deserve to know why she's suddenly giving me the cold shoulder. "I'm really about to say fuck it yo."

"Don't do that man," Shawn said. "Shorty probably going through something. Or she's just busy. I have to call April like three times just to answer sometimes."

"And if she's busy she should at least speak that shit. I'm not about to be blowing her shit up just to get pushed to the side like I ain't shit. I'm busy too you know? With practice, work, and classes. But I still find the time to speak to her at least."

"Don't give up man. I got a good feeling about this girl."

"A good feeling ain't enough for me to keep looking stupid behind this girl." My phone dinged letting me know I got a text.

Thickness: I don't think we should be friends anymore. Please stop calling me.

"The fuck?" I mumbled rereading the texts to make sure it says what the fuck it says. After all this time of getting no reply this is what she sends me?

"What?" Shawn asked coming back.

"Wow," I chuckled darkly. I squeezed the phone tightly in my hand before tossing it into the wall, shattering the damn thing.

"Damn man what happened?"

"So after all this time of not answering a single text she finally messages me on some bullshit talking about we can't be cool no more and I gotta stop hitting her up. Can you believe that shit?" I chuckled while shaking my head. Normally I wouldn't give a damn at this point but I do and that's irking the hell out of me.
