I sit in the library waiting for Alesia. After that shooting of course my father found out. He yelled at me for hours and I was grounded till... this morning. I took care of my own wounds. I barely slept that night because truthfully I was just terrified.

When she walks in I smile. We're not suppose to eat in here but there is never even a librarian or supervisor. Especially during lunch. I know the teachers care. But when there is a bunch of teens who don't really have morals then it doesn't make the school look the best. My dad wanted to move me. I believe wherever you go there is craziness plus there is no point driving so much farther into the city.

We sit in silence, she eats while I finish an assignment the teacher already assigned. I refuse to ever be behind. I don't love school work but it keeps me productive. I've made a commitment join cheer this year. Mostly for Alesia. But I think it'll be good to not stay home so much.

I look over at her and she's just on her phone.

"Tell me about Marcelo."

Her eyes immidaetly find mine.

"Why bring him up?" She asks and I shrug.

"I feel like everyone knows about him accept me. And I saw him murder someone so it makes sense."

I'm genuinely curious.

"He's affiliated. He basically wears the crown. When he went to jail for those two years it got crazy because everyone wanted his spot. But I'm guessing he's been out for awhile. Haven't you seen those missing people and murders coming up? He's getting his revenge for people who thought they could replace him and take over. He's been in this life since what? Thirteen."

I process all her words.

"But why?"

She's about to tell me to shut up. She hates talking about these stuff mostly because of her brothers. Yet the door opens to some freshman. I kindly smile at her. She doesn't do the same. I brush it off since the bell rings.

"When did he first kill someone?" I quickly ask as she starts walking.

"I don't know."

Liar.

"Are his murders—"

"When he murders he does it in a physcotic hatred way. Why are you so worried about him?" She finally snaps. I stay quiet.

She hasn't told me what happened at that party. I haven't seen or spoken to her till today. I shouldn't even be pushing. I'm happy she didn't get shot.

The rest of the day is calm. Of course a fight broke out over a guy between some girls. The summer drama surf raced throughout the campus.

I walk into the liquor after school. There's tension with Alesia and I just want to go home and munch on snacks. Yet the second I see the same snake on the back of a guys neck I turn around and forget about those snacks.

Why is he here of all times?

I keep walking as I hear the ringing of the door again hinting someone walked in or walked out. Either way I don't look back. That until I'm being pulled into an alley.

He's wearing all black again and his scent is overpowering. His eyes look lighter since the sun is hitting his face but only a portion of it. He has his hoodie back on and his height always intimidates me. I would say 6'2. Give or take.

I need space. He's too close.

"I need to do something."

"What."

"Alesia, find out where her brother is hiding."

"Why can't you do that?"

"That's not your concern." His eyes burn into mine.

"What if I don't?" I don't think I can do that.

"What are you going to even do?"

"To you or him?" I don't think I want to know.

"I don't want to be running your errands."

"It's okay, you won't have legs to be running them if you don't." He threatens. He steps back. I just stare at him.

"You realize my fathers a cop right?" He smiles, then walks away. My eyes watch him turn the corner. Only until then I start walking back home.

Shit.
