Capricorn
Chapter 12

Behavior and Traits
The typical Capricorn child:
* likes the security of routine and orderliness
* has just one or two close friends
* enjoys pretending to be grown up
* usually loves reading

* likes projects and making things that have a practical use

And that he did, deep down he felt guilty for keeping her up but he liked talking to her and she wasn't stopping him.

"Don't make me laugh please"Adena said, covering her mouth after Craig told her a funny story. After the slight awkwardness from before, everything was fine and they have been talking like old friends. Like they have known each other for a long time. He noticed her getting more and more comfortable and that's what he wanted. She picked up a tissue and started to cough, "Ohmygod. I'm just spreading germs everywhere..."

"It's fine, "Craig said as he reached into the bag from Duane Reeds, "I got this at the store as well," he said as he held up a spray can of Lysol. However, he accidentally sprayed it at her. "OH! My bad!"

"Hey! You did that on purpose"Adena gasped mocking shock. She waved in front of her face, fanning away the strong lemony scent.

"I did not-"

"You trying to kill me?" she continued, teasing him.

"I'm sorry," he said with a smile.

"I must have a lot of germs anyway. I probably needed that," Adena said with a slight chuckle. Craig continued to spray around the room, away from her. "Thanks again by the way. You barely know me and I'm sick and shut-in in YOUR bed. I can sleep on the couch."

"No couch for you. Not here, I won't have it. You need comfort and quiet."

Adena smirked, "Well, you shouldn't get so close to me. I don't want to risk you getting sick too."

"Don't worry, I'll burn the whole bed after you leave" he said with a wink. Adena rolled her eyes playfully. He glanced out the window and realized the sun had set a while ago. He looked at his watch, "Oh fuck" he said, under his breath when he saw that it was 8 o clock. "I have to go."

"Oh, "Adena said disappointingly without meaning to, "Where are you going?" she asked him.

"I was so caught up with you that I forgot that I had to go to work tonight," he said.

"Work? I thought you got fired?" she asked, confused, and then blew her nose.

"I just lost my day job, which mostly pays for this place," he said, he frowned, "I DJ at night."

"Oh wow, where?"

"All over. I can't wait til it gets warmer. Birthday parties, weddings, cookouts, day parties. It's a full-time gig over the summer if I play my cards right. I even did a funeral once" he said. Adena's eyes went wide. "Seriously...people are something else," he said with a shake of his head. "I can get you into all of them for free. Free drinks." He paused. "I don't want to leave you," he said honestly.

"I'll be fine. I can take another nap" she said awkwardly as she laid down and pulled the covers up. Why did she get a fuzzy feeling when he said 'I don't want to leave you'?

"Yeah, you should get some sleep. I haven't let you get any of that" he said, "You sure you aren't hungry?" he asked her. She shook her head. "You need to eat. No soup? Nothing?" She shook her head again. "Well," he said as he walked into the kitchen. "Crackers and soup at hand, best inventions for colds...well besides the meds," he said to her. He gave her the remote and turned the tv on. He moved the tv out of the living room into his bedroom so she wouldn't get bored. Ron wouldn't mind. He walked into his closet and went into the bathroom and quickly changed into a black button-down, designer jeans, and dabbed some cologne on himself.

"You smell good," she said and then coughed as she realized she said that out loud. OMG.

"Thanks" he smirked in surprise.

"I hate when guys take baths in cologne you know? Putting way too much on. One guy literally gave me a headache the smell was so strong" she said trying to cover up and move on from her slip-up, hoping he would forget. She watched as he put layers of jackets and sweaters on to bear with the freezing weather. She didn't want him to leave but she felt uncomfortable asking him. She couldn't ask that. Who did she think she was?

"You sure you gonna be ok?" he checked in one more time. "I can take you to your friend's place?"

"Would you rather me go there?" she asked him. Was he trying to tell her to get out by being really nice about it?

"Only if you want to and feel that you are more comfortable there" he assured her.

"I feel comfier here if you don't mind," she said to him.

"I'll call and check on you if I can. If you need anything, you have my number."

"I do?"

"Yeah on the note remember?" he said, "I'll be back sometime after 3."

"Oh wow that's so late," she said with surprise.

"Sometimes that's early for me," he said with a chuckle. "You better be sleeping and getting your rest when I get back."

"I will, "she said, "Thanks Craig," she said to him.

"No prob."

It wasn't a problem at all.

*

A typical Capricorn likes to be doing something, even when they're relaxing.

*

Adena never really watched tv. The only time that she watched tv was if she wanted to watch a movie or watch 90s sitcoms. She wasn't the type to binge. She was watching a Fresh Prince rerun when she felt her stomach growl. She remembered that Craig mentioned that there were crackers and soup. She slowly got up and walked into the kitchen. She chuckled when she saw it. She wasn't surprised. Guys weren't really that tidy. She ate some crackers, drank plenty of water, took her antibiotics, and proceeded to clean their kitchen...

*

Capricorns may seem very serious, even as children, but they have a sense of humor; this needs to be encouraged -- but not by teasing.

*

Kim sat at her kitchen table with a frown on her face, lost in thought. Her front door opening and Missy coming in was what brought her back to reality. She snapped out of it and looked up.

"Bitch, you don't lock your door no mo'?" Missy asked her as she walked in, "Do you want to be robbed?" she asked her, then she looked around and frowned, "Ok...I expected there to be another full-course meal...where's Dena?"

"That's what I was wondering..." Kim said as she looked at her watch, "I haven't seen her since this morning and it's almost 10."

"Damn...I'm really hungry-"

"Missy. I'm worried. This isn't funny. Where is she? I called her and she doesn't pick up. Usually, she posts about her art shows...she hasn't posted anything today. I have a bad feeling."

"Kim you know how she is. You know she's still upset about the divorce and maybe she doesn't want to cook or clean anymore...which is a shame because she said she would make that blueberry cheesecake" she grumbled. Kim gave her another look. "I bet she's sitting behind her desk analyzing another Picasso," Missy said, "Which is a shame..." she said as she went through Kim's fridge. "Damn look at all this food! I'm gonna eat some leftovers ok?" Kim only nodded, staring at her phone like she was waiting for it to ring. "Kim, she's fine. She's grown. Maybe she just needed to get away from everyone, even us."

Kim nodded again, hoping Missy was right.

Some Capricorns can be old-fashioned, old souls. If Capricorn decides to watch tv, they'll multitask, for example, some may sew or knit or file their nails. Their hands need to be busy.

*

Adena was scrubbing the counter spotless when she had another coughing fit. 'You need to lay down!' was what her conscience was telling her. But even though she was sick, now that she saw the mess, she couldn't stop cleaning. It's the least she could do since she's barged in on them and taken over Craig's bedroom.

Then her cell rang but it was a ringer that she didn't want to hear. However, it kept ringing. Then it stopped for a second and then the caller called right back. She walked back into Craig's room and saw that "Hubby" was calling her. She watched it ring and then the display said 2 missed calls. Then it was silent. She sighed with relief, maybe he was finally taking a hint. She stared at his contact, erased the name, and simply named him 'Taye'...or should she block him altogether? A minute later, a notification popped up saying she had a voicemail. She sighed and wanted to delete it but instead pressed play...

"Dena. Please don't erase this message. I want and need to know where you are. Kim and Missy haven't seen you at all today and I guess you know about Donatella waking me up this morning...that was fun. Did you get my flowers? I gave them to Lloyd...yeah you probably did. I know flowers won't do shit. I just want to show you I still care for you and have love for you. Dena, I miss you. But we need to sit down and talk about this. How are we going to move forward? I'm guessing I'll have to move out...We'll need to sign papers and everything. The faster we do it...the sooner it will be over...and I will never bother you again. I promise. Dena...baby...I'm sorry for hurting you...I never wanted it to end this way. Please call me, text me, like a picture...something when you get this. I'm worried about you."

Adena started to cough again as tears rolled down her face. She sunk to the floor and leaned against the side of Craig's bed. She pressed play again. She missed him too. But he sounded different. And he said he 'had love for her'...did she hear that right? What does that mean? She listened to his message again and again, dissecting everything from his voice, what he said, the tone, and any background noise. Was he with his new girlfriend? She started to sob and played the voicemail over and over and over...

Despite their more than capable maturity, Capricorns (especially young Capricorns) can lose self-confidence very easily.
