"I am not going anywhere" I told Matt who was upset enough to skip a day at work.

"I don't know why, but I am not feeling good about leaving you alone. I am very suspicious about that lawyer, I don't trust him. Where is your passport?" He asked.

"Aaron has both mine and Jim's passport. He kept it with his passport for safety."

"Savvy! You should never ever hand over to your passport to anyone."

"He never showed his true colors!" I exclaimed, "I trusted him."

He ran his fingers through his hair in anger and after a minute pause, said, "Shit!"

"Why are you so worried? I have to be drugged to senselessness to leave with Aaron out of this room, forget about Greece."

"Okay, so I am leaving for an hour or two to check how's the project progressing in office. I will be back soon." He turned to go but I stopped him.

"Matt, I needed to tell you something." He nodded, asking me to continue.

"Saying that I thought of you as a normal friend would be a lie because you are my best friend." I took a step toward him, "but at the same time, I never loved you like your Soul mate would. You are the honest friend one can get and I don't want to lose you but simultaneously, I don't want to put false expectations inside your head. You should move on, Matt. I loved once and it was it for me. I don't think I can ever love again. Ever."

He looked upset, even a little taken aback but he nodded and said, "I don't expect you to love me back."

"I don't want you to waste your life Matt. Please give some other girl a chance. Please, you are too good to be left behind secluded. As for me, I will always love you, but as a best friend would. Nothing more." I feel a tear making its way down my cheeks.

I didn't want to lose him but nor did I want him to be led on by me.

"I will think about it." He said and left.

I sat on my knees and cried hard. I didn't know why but I thought I just lost something very precious. Something I wanted to protect.

Aaron's POV

"I will never understand you Man. You are literally behind something that one would not even think twice about." Herald said.

The lawyer was thinking with brain not heart. He would never understand what's its like to hold a baby, to have someone as little as Jim idolise you, to love a girl with all your heart.

"You will not understand" I told him.

"What I understand is that the girl is a cheat, the kid is not yours and then there is a boyfriend."

"The kid is mine. Jim is mine."

"Jim is not your DNA. You yourself disclosed those reports that said you are sterile. You can never be a father."

I felt the same pain in my heart which I felt whenever this topic was brought to discussion.

"I got myself tested again. The reports said the same again." I told him.

"I know Man. That's why, I am asking you to leave that bitch and move on with your life. What I don't understand is why were you saying 'she is like Juliette'?"

"I and Juliette liked each other once. I found her cheating on me and I broke up with her. Months later, she came to my house and told me she is pregnant. Obviously I didn't believe her but I didn't leave her either. I went with her to all those tests, brought her medicines, made food for her but fuck that girl was lying. My Dad had asked me to get a DNA test done as soon as the baby comes and I argued with him, insulted him to even say such a preposterous thing. I did the only thing I could to shut him up. I put a ring on Juliette's finger."

"What happened then?" Herald asked when I didn't speak for a while.

"One day, I came back home early to surprise her. I was ready to start a new life with my family and forget about the past. But everything got ruined, Juliette was in the washroom. I got inside the room and saw a box of tampons sitting on our bed. She forgot to put the box in the washroom. I asked her if anything was wrong with the baby. She said nothing was wrong. We argued, then all of a sudden, she started crying. I was fucking scared, so scared for both her and my baby but I never would have thought, guessed about what she actually did...."

I stopped and took a deep breath.

"There was no baby. There never was. It was all a trap to get me back."

"What the fuck Man!? She was such a bitch?" I heard Herald say in anger.

"I asked her how could she do this to me. She had no answer. That day I met my doctor and asked him for vasectomy."

"Fuck!"

"I didn't want to be played again but you know what? The craziest thing happened. I was sterile. I didn't need to go through the procedure."

"You never told me this."

"Only my family know about this. I met Savannah a few months later and fell head over heels in love with her. Then one day, the same thing happened. I didn't want to lose her. I never want to lose her. Now, I don't want to lose either of the two. Jim is my son and Savannah my wife but if she asks for divorce then I want my son back. He loves me and I can't help but love him back."

I looked up at the lawyer. He smiled and nodded.

"You won't."
