A light brush on my forehead was enough to awake me . I opened my eyelids to Matt leaning over the seat towards me . I rubbed the sleep off my eyes or tried to. I was so tired . Tired of everything .

" We are home ," Matt whispered still leaning and it was odd. We were so close and I had a sudden realization , he had his head in a strange position , like he was going to kiss me.

Come out of that zone Savannah !!!

Matt is just concerned . Your head is in the wrong direction . Divert your mind.

Then the even weirder thing happened , he leaned even more and that's when I backed with a gasp . He retreated , his hand running nervously over his long hair making them messier.

I knew he wasn't going to break the silence but I was just too stunned to do anything . Anything . He was going to kiss me .

Was he going to kiss Me ?

Oh dear Lord ! I hope I was miscomprehending his intentions .

My heart kept saying that it was some misunderstanding but my brain knew better . I closed my eyes , sleep completely gone , fatigue lost . I had get away from his car and to my house soon . I unlocked the door and climbed out .

I was going to run straight to my house when Matt's voice rang out .

" Savvy , Jim's here "

Well done.

I turned and saw a asleep Jim in Matt's arms . Making my way towards him , I thought out the sudden awkwardness taking place between him and me . He was my only friend . Cassie was on her honeymoon in Hawaii and won't be back for another week or more . Truth to be told , she won't be much help too because she had her own concerns . If I stopped talking to Matt , then I would be even more lonely.

I lifted my hands to take Jim but Matt refuses to hand him over .

" Savvy , about what happened in the car ...." Okay so he was going to talk about it.

" What happened was..."

Well yeah?

" What happened...."

I stopped him ," Matt , I think we should talk about it tomorrow in the morning when I am not restless and when you can complete the whole sentence " Teasing him was helpful as he nodded and gave a small smile .

" Yeah tomorrow. "

I didn't sleep well that night . In the morning , I woke up late and found Jim already awake sitting on the floor playing with his little toys . It was the bell that woke me and it was still ringing . Jim looked irritated . He kept glaring at the door and scowling . A two year five month old child scowling , go figure . It was so damn cute .

I rose from the bed stretching my muscles and yawning .

" Savannah! Savvy ! I am going to break the door if you don't open the door now ! "

Matt was furious . His voice was loud and the message was clear . He was not giving a fake threat , Matt never gave fake threats , period.

I climbed off the bed and shouted ," You will have to pay for it then , Raymond !"

I took my toothbrush and toothpaste and went to the sink in the bathroom. After watching both my face and mouth , I felt refreshing.

" Five ! Four ! Three ..." He kept thundering but I knew he was just kidding .

" Two and one . Done . Break the door , Raymond ." I teased .

After unlocking the door , I opened the door and gave him a big smile . He shook his head then took me off guard by picking me up and throwing me on his shoulder . With his other hand , he closed the door and placed the hand on my legs adjusting me .

I kept laughing . Jim joined us yelling for his own ride .

" Matt ! I want ride after momma."

Matt was also grinning and spinning in a circle .

" I will puke , Matt " I said still laughing.

" Go ahead , Waters. " He replied .

" What is puke ?" Jim asked curiously.

" Jim when you throw up , you know vomit then it is called puking . " I said .

He made a face.

" Puke not mommy . I not puke ." He said trying the word .

" I will not puke if Matt places me back on earth ." I said wiggling.

How much did he weigh by the way?

" Dad pick you mommy ? "

That was the end of laughter , Matt stopped and straightened me . His hands were on my waist , eyes on my eyes and a frown between his eyebrows . I wasn't looking at him but at the past .

The best day and worst day of my life .

3 years 2 months ago......

I was happy , jubilant , laughing , flying , the test was positive , I was pregnant . I could not be happier . Aaron was coming back after two long weeks . I grimace when I remember the chat we had about children but I allow myself to think positive . I didn't really plan it or trick him , it just happened . What has to happen , will happen , you can't overcome or postpone it and I wanted this child , whether a girl or a boy , I didn't care , I will love them equally . I hope I could be a good Mom . I didn't know how to be one but Aaron's Mom would help me , I hoped so. Rachel Cole was a very tough woman , flamboyant and rich. She wanted Aaron to marry someone prettier or richer , both I lacked .

The door bell ring and I walk to the door , no running for another nine months . I open the door after unlocking it , the sight overwhelms me , he stood there looking his usual tycoon self , smart , handsome and sexy . He smiled his million dollar smile and hugged me. I wrapped my hands around his waist suddenly shy and nervous .

" Hi Mrs. Cole ," he spoke in my ear sending a shiver all over my body .

" Hi Aaron . I have to tell you something. " I said to his chest .

"You have to? Huh? " With that he picked me up and carried me to our room .

Just when he started to throw me on the bed , I tightened my arms around his neck and said , " You can't throw me around places anymore ."

"I can't ." His eyes narrowed.

I wiggled so that he can put me back on the ground . He straightened me and cupped my cheek ," Bad day ? " I knew where his line of questioning was going so I interrupt .

" Its not my monthly cycle . I am pregnant. " I blurted the last sentence. I couldn't stop myself , couldn't lie .

When I tipped my head upward to look at him , I stepped back . His face was deadly pale , white , he kept looking at me then his gaze went lower to my pants where my stomach ended , there was no sign of a baby , not yet .

" You are joking right? I don't like jokes like this Savannah . Don't kid me ." I took another step back before whispering.

" I am not lying . I am pregnant . We are going to have a baby ." I said placing my hands on my stomach protectively.

" I am not having any baby ! We used precautions !" He shouted coming forward shaking my shoulders .

" It didn't work ." I said bewildered by his rage and anger .

" Well I don't want a child . I told you before. You must have planned it !" He said piercing my heart .

" Answer me Savannah ! Did you plan it ?" That's when I fainted .Blacked out .

Back to present ....

Aaron had picked me up and laid me on the bed . When I woke up , it was midnight and Aaron was sleeping next to me , his hand on my waist protecting me . After that day , till the next eight months and three weeks , he didn't utter a word about the child . He bought things like furniture and crib but never said that he didn't want the child . He helped me in the most embarrassing things , kept the refrigerator stocked and never mentioned sex which according to the doctor was not harmful.

" Savannah? " Matt's voice brought me back to the present .

" Yeah ?" I asked.

" I wanted to talk about last night ." Matt said .

I looked at Jim who was looking at me and rubbing his stomach .

" First food , then talk ," I said before sauntering towards the small kitchen .

Jim followed on my heels.

My baby was hungry and his dad was coming today .
