*Night - Lugnica*

After the battle with the bowel hunter. Y/N, Emilia, Subaru, Reinhard, Rom, and Felt parted ways.

Rom and Reinhard, who is carrying Felt, went to the Astrea house.

Y/N and Emilia are going to Roswaal's mansion while Y/N is carrying an unconscious Subaru on his shoulder.

After saying goodbyes with Reinhard. Y/N and Emilia meets with a pink haired maid besides a carriage. Her name is Ram.

Ram: "Good evening, Emilia-sama, you are very late."

Ram stares at her with a stoic face.

Emilia: "I'm sorry, Ram. I had a problem that took a long time to solve."

Ram then turned her attention to the people besides Emilia.

Ram: "May I ask who is the person besides you?"

Emilia: "Oh, they are my guests. I want to bring them to the mansion to properly reward them for helping me."

Ram with a blank face stares at Y/N, then her attention went to Subaru who is on Y/N's shoulder.

Ram: "Is the man on his shoulder also included?"

Emilia: "Yes. He's the one that saved me."

Ram just scans them as she then shuts her eyes.

Ram: "I see. Then as Emilia-sama's wishes they shall become the mansion's guests."

Ram then bows and opens the door of the carriage.

Ram: "Please, enter the carriage. Emilia-sama and dear guest. You don't mind if I take care of the... 'Luggage' on you, sir?"

Ram indicating to Subaru who was on Y/N's shoulder. Y/N responds to waving his hands off.

Y/N: "No need. And also just call me Y/N."

Ram: "As you wish, sir Y/N."

Y/N let Emilia enter the carriage first before placing Subaru inside in a sitting position. Then Y/N takes the seat besides the unconscious Subaru.

Ram seeing that the passengers have settled themselves in the carriage proceeds to take the seat of the coachman and flick the whip to move the earth dragons. The next destination, Roswaal's Mansion.

*Timeskip - Midnight - Roswaal's Mansion* 

Y/N after arriving at Roswaal's mansion, he was greeted by the twin sister of Ram, the blue haired maid, Rem. 

After a small greeting, Y/N gave Subaru to Ram as she took Subaru to his room while Y/N was being guided by Rem to his room. Emilia went straight to her bedroom as she says that she is very tired and wants to sleep.

While Y/N is being guided by Rem, he became a bit curious as he looks around the almost infinite and long hallway and doors.

Y/N: 'This mansion seems to be too large just to house four people.'

Y/N turns to Rem.

Y/N: "Are there any residents within this mansion besides you, your sister, the elf girl, and the master of this mansion?"

Rem: "There is another one, she is the guardian of Roswaal-sama's forbidden library, Beatrice-sama."

Y/N: "Is that all?"

Rem: "Yes, that's all, sir Y/N."

Y/N responds with just silence as the loud footsteps of both of them vibrates within the halls. Y/N gazes the outside of the windows as he arrives at his assigned bedroom.

Rem: "This will be your room, sir."

Rem unlocks the door with a key and opens it. She then bows and leaves Y/N with the keys.

Y/N stares at the fleeting figure of Rem as she walks away. He then enters his room. He takes off his hat and coat as he places Yoru down besides his bed. He is left with just his pants and naked upper body, which has toned muscles. 

Y/N: 'I don't have any other clothings... I'll have to borrow clothes from the maids tomorrow.'

Y/N sits down on his bed as he thinks about his life in this world and choices he made before he went to sleep.

*The Next Day Morning*

Y/N wakes up as he gets up from his bed. He then looks around.

Y/N: "It seems I am really stuck in this world."

Y/N went to his chair and was about to take his hat. Then suddenly, there was knocking on his door. A voice sounded in the other side.

???: "Sir Y/N. May I come inside?"

Y/N puts down his hat and walks up to the door then opens it. His eyes face to face with the pink haired maid. Ram, unfazed by the appearance of Y/N.

Ram: "I thought you were asleep as I would have taken your clothing to wash them. You can use these clothing instead."

Ram hands Y/N a white long sleeve shirt similar to his outfit back in his world and black pants with a belt.

Y/N nods at Ram as he closes the door. Y/N quickly changes his attire. 

He then opens the door and hands over Ram his coat and pants.

Ram bows at Y/N.

Ram: "Thank you, sir Y/N."

Y/N: "Do you have some books or news I can read?"

Ram raises herself and looks directly at Y/N's face.

Ram: "There are some books you can read in Roswaal-sama's office. But I would have to ask Roswaal-sama's permission before you can get it."

Y/N: "I see... Is he away right now?"

Ram: "Indeed, sir Y/N. Roswaal-sama's is currently away."

Y/N is quite disappointed upon hearing that.

Y/N: "You can go away now, maid."

Ram bows before walking away with Y/N's used clothing.

*Timeskip - Morning*

Y/N decided to find Subaru. When he was walking in the hallways, a door suddenly opened and Subaru was thrown out of it.

Y/N was 'quite' surprised as he then approaches him. He looks at the door that closed by itself. He approaches and opens the door but he is only greeted by a room filled with cleaning materials.

Y/N: "Is this some sort of devil fruit ability or a magic spell?"

Then suddenly Rem came over to them.

Rem: "What's the meaning of this?"

Y/N turns to the source of the voice.

Y/N: "He was suddenly thrown out of a door that opened and closed by itself. He seems to have been knocked out."

Rem: "I see. That must be see Beatrice-sama's door crossing magic."

Y/N was quite surprised again. A magic of that type can be very useful. He wonders what other things magic can do.

Rem: "I shall take him to his room. Now excuse me, sir Y/N."

Y/N steps aside as Rem who seemingly have great physical strength as he carries away Subaru without breaking a sweat.

Y/N: "I guess I'll have to find something that can entertain me."

Y/N proceeds to walk through the almost endless hallway and doors. But then suddenly he feels something from one of the doors. He feels an aura similar to how he can feel haki aura but this one felt different than haki.

Y/N: "Is this what they call magic?"

He approaches the door and opens it. Then he is suddenly greeted with a large library with a blonde little girl in the middle, having a table with a tea set besides her, as she is sitting on a stepladder while reading a large book.

Y/N: 'She seems to be busy reading.'

Y/N: "Are you perhaps the person called Beatrice?"

Beatrice then looks at Y/N with a grumpy look.

Beatrice: "Who are you, I suppose."

Beatrice gets off her seat as she approaches Y/N.

Y/N: "I am just a guest of the mansion, accommodated by the half-elf."

Beatrice stops in-front of Y/N.

Beatrice: "Standstill, I suppose."

Beatrice takes out her hand, Y/N backs off slightly.

Y/N: "What are you doing?"

Beatrice: "I am only testing whether your an enemy or not, I suppose."

Beatrice places her hand on Y/N. Then suddenly Y/N felt getting weaker. Y/N is about to lose his footing when suddenly he released his Haoshoku Haki.

Beatrice receiving the full force of Y/N' Conqueror Haki upfront and was greatly affected as she stops absorbing Y/N's mana and starts to faint slowly. She holds her head before dropping to the ground.

Y/N who was in a daze, awoke from his half conscious state as his Haoshoku Haki was stopped. He holds his head then he sees that Beatrice fainted and fell on the floor.

Y/N: "What happened?..."

Y/N looked around checking the whole library before him. Then he was about to approach Beatrice trying to seek answers until when suddenly she opens her eyes and get's up as she holds her head.

Beatrice: "W-What are you? W-Who are you?"

Y/N stares at Beatrice for a second.

Y/N: 'Why is she acting like this?'

Y/N: "I am Y/N. Dracule Y/N. Just a wandering swordsman."

Beatrice fixes herself as she stares at Y/N. Her demeanor is not the same as before.

Beatrice: "A-Are you perhaps... 'that person?'"

Beatrice, with sad eyes and face, asks Y/N her long awaited answer. Y/N tilts his head in confusion.

Y/N: 'What does she mean by "that person?"'

Y/N: "That person? I believe I do not know nor I find myself to be connected to 'that person.'"

Upon hearing Y/N's answer, Beatrice lowers her head. As suddenly she bursts with mana and pushes Y/N with a great force. Y/N was flung away out of the door and the door closes itself.

Y/N safely lands on his feet without any scratches or injuries.

Y/N: "What's the deal with her?"

Y/N saw a glimpse of her crying figure before the door closed. He then stands up and looks outside the windows.

Y/N: "Quite odd of her... I'll just ask her next time."

Y/N proceeds to walk away to his next destination, the garden.
