Victoria somehow managed to doze off while waiting for Geralt. She had heard him come in at some point, which calmed her mostly.

As she slept, past events appeared in her mind, including the night she had killed her father. It was all so real, like she was living that night all over again.

"Your mother is dead." He said through his gritted teeth as she struggled to breathe through the sharp pain. "And now, you will see what it's like."

When Victoria opened her eyes, they were glowing the same blue. Augustus stared in shock, watching as electricity ran throughout her body, electrocuting his fingers.

Augustus flew backwards as Victoria's body was lifted into the air, the woman hanging in the air as something possessed her body.

A loud, booming voice escaped her mouth as Augustus shielded his eyes.

"Augustus, what have you done?"

The sorcerer knew that feminine, alarming voice coming from within his daughter to be his murdered wife.

The man staggered to his feet. "Adeline?"

"You knew the pix gene ran through my side of the family, and yet you chose that you'd love our child unconditionally. This is the opposite, Augustus. You have failed Victoria; you have failed me."

The man shook his head. "Adeline, she isn't like the others."

"You're right," she said. "She's much more."

Victoria's body moved across the air, until she was standing in front of Augustus. The man stared into the glowing eyes, fearful.

"You've chosen your sorcery over your family. . . You've been consumed by the dark power, turning your own people against you."

"I have the power to take control of everything I want." Augustus said, trying to reason. "Adeline, don't you see? This power, it could save you."

"I will not cheat death like you did." She said, Victoria flew backwards. "And you will not cheat death again.

Her arms were extended forward, and Augustus began to scream. A blue aura escaped the sorcerer's body, traveling to Victoria and running up her arms and through her veins.

Victoria threw her head back and screamed as the power moved through her wounded body. Her eyes glowed one last time as she stayed within the air.

Lightning flashed throughout the room, and the fire wept through uncontrollably around them.

Augustus stumbled forward, and a figure moved through the room and moved towards him. The old man opened his eyes, his breath escaping his lips as a sword struck him through the chest.

He was pushed towards the windowsill, pinned over the edge. Augustus looked up to see Geralt staring down at him, twisting his sword through his flesh.

"You've lost, Augustus." Geralt said to him. "There's no more coming back."

Augustus stared at him as his body began to stiffen, and the pain slowly faded.

"Tell her. . ." He said, swallowing as blood spilled from his mouth. "Tell her she has her mother's heart."

Geralt waited for the man's body to still, and the last beat of his heart before pulling the sword from his chest. The witcher tucked his sword back into its strap, and he turned around to see Victoria's body laying limp on the floor.

Victoria jolted awake, gasping for air. Her skin was coated with a cold sweat, and her body trembled within her sleep. She gripped the edge of the bed and sat up, looking towards the door.

The past flickered through her mind, and her head began to ache. She didn't remember her mother's possession, and she didn't know her father had spoken to Geralt.

She listened for a moment, but could no longer hear Geralt or Nivellen down the hall. Victoria looked towards the windows, clenching her jaw.

Closing her eyes, she focused on Geralt as she managed to track him down. Casting a shield across the mansion, she could only feel Ciri.

A soft scratching occurred, but Victoria remained focused. She expanded the shield farther, her nose scrunching as pain flashed through her body.

But suddenly, there was a presence. She could feel them before her, inches from her. There was a gentle dip in the bed beside her, and she felt a sudden breath on her parted lips. Victoria opened her eyes, and she gasped.

The wide-eyed creature before her shoved a hand over her mouth and gripped her hands before she could release a defensive charm. Victoria's eyes widened, defenseless and paralyzed beneath it.

"You threatened my Nivellen." She said to her. "You tried to kill him."

Victoria sank her teeth into the monster's hand, and it hissed. Victoria's fingers wiggled, shooting a spark upward. As it stunned the creature, Victoria gritted her teeth as she channeled her power. The woman levitated from the bed, and the doors were flung open.

As the monster released a blood-curling scream, Victoria's body was thrown across the room, flying into the hallway. The doors slammed shut as she fell to the ground, lost of her breath.

Victoria flinched, gasping as someone gripped her arms. She looked up, noticing the black eyes of the witcher. She hadn't seen them so dark, so concentrated until now.

"Where is it?" Geralt asked.
"Geralt, it's gone." She said, shuttering. Her body felt weak from channeling so much power at once.

Geralt stood and motioned for her to stay quiet. Victoria sat with her back against the wall, still trying to catch her breath. When Geralt walked up the stairs, she winced and began to lift her dress. She stared down at the gash across her stomach that gushed as she breathed heavily.

Victoria jumped as the same shrieking howl echoed through the mansion, followed by a loud thud. The brunette began pulling herself towards the window, listening to the glass shatter from the window above. The creature fell from the window, landing flatly against the ground below.

"Damn it!" Victoria screamed as she pulled herself up. Her heart pounded within her chest as she looked down, watching as the bruxa turned away from Ciri, screaming at Geralt.

"No!"

Her power struck her body, and Victoria flew through the window. As she soared towards the bruxa, she blocked her from Geralt and lifted her hands before creating a protective shield around the witcher. Geralt raised his own, causing her to fly backwards. Ciri kneeled down beside Victoria as he neared the bruxa.

Geralt watched as the bruxa fled and flew across the snowy sky before circling around.

"Ciri, get to Roach." Victoria said as she tried to stabilize herself.

"You're bleeding." She said. A line of blood fell from Victoria's nose, but she shook her head.

"Now, Cirilla."

Ciri stood and rushed to the horse's side as Victoria listened to the wind. Geralt rotated in place, his sword drawn as he waited for her to strike.

As the bruxa swooped down to the witcher, Geralt gripped her calf and shoved her against the ground. Victoria released a defensive charm as it began to swipe at him, and it yanked away before disappearing again.

"Geralt!"

Victoria ignored the pain that ran a full coarse within her body. The woman levitated as she stood behind the witcher, closing her eyes as she casted another protective shield.

She could hear the bruxa as it swooped down once more. Releasing her power, Victoria allowed her body to fall, and Geralt twisted his sword behind his back; striking the bruxa. The monster slammed into a nearby statue, returning to her human figure as she landed within the snow.

Victoria watched as Ciri ran towards the girl, draping a cloak over her naked body.

"Cirilla," Geralt warned. "Get away from it."

Victoria's eyes widened as the bruxa stood, closing her hand around Ciri's throat. Victoria forced herself back into the air, on guard as Geralt did the same.

"I'll rip her throat out, unless you leave us alone!"

The bruxa bared her teeth as she prepared to strike Ciri. But as Victoria and Geralt moved, the girl was released. A staff had been impaled through the minster from behind, by Nivellen.

"I'm sorry. . ." Nivellen croaked. "I'm so sorry."

Victoria watched with a twisting stomach as the bruxa twisted her body around to face the creature, dragging herself farther on the staff.

"Mine. . . Or nobody's. I love you. Love you."

Victoria gripped Ciri's arms as the bruxa wailed. Geralt stepped forward and lifted his sword, siping the monster's head cleanly from the body.

"No!"

Victoria shielded her eyes as fire erupted before them. Above the flame, she listened to the sound of Nivellen's moans.

And as the fire disappeared, Nivellen stood in his human form once again.
