Victoria stared at her father as sweat glistened upon her skin. The heat was unbearable inside of the tower, and it was slowly traveling across the rest of the room.

"It isn't anyone's fault that they're born, you foul, piece of shit!" She said, gasping as her chest began to ache. Her blood boiled with anger as it consumed her entire body.

Her father sent his hands forward, and Victoria was sent backwards. The woman managed to slide her hands across the wood, saving herself from being engulfed by the flames behind her.

"Taught you his mouth, did he?" Augustus growled as he lifted his hands above his head. "What else did he teach you, how to fight? He did a horrible job."

Victoria screamed and released an invisible wave that sent pain throughout her father's body.

"I taught myself, because no one did." She snapped.

Her father created a shield that blocked her from attacking him, and she stumbled back once she ran directly into it, like a sheet of glass.

"Fighting with glittered clouds," he said. He threw a spell her way, but she was able to duck in time.

"Would you like me to use my hands?" She remarked. The brunette swung her fist outward, striking her father's jaw as hard as she could. She hugged her fist to her chest as it throbbed immediately, but she knew she inflicted the same damage on her father as he fell backwards.

"If my mother saw who you've become—"

Victoria gasped as a thin rope closed around her neck, tightening before she could finish. The brunette tried to yank it free as she struggled to breathe.

Closing her eyes, Augustus watched as his daughter disappeared within thin air. She had shrunk to the size of a normal pix.

He scanned the room and continued to move around, waiting for her to reappear. He had been through it all before.

"You cannot strike me down, not again." He said. He threw his arms up, and a glow of gold radiated off of his body. Victoria screamed as she was struck, and she returned to her normal size, falling to the floor.

Her head smacked against the wood floor, and she was forced to close her eyes as her ears began to ring.

She placed her palm to the floor, feeling the heat within the wood as the fire began to expand. But before she could do anything, she felt her body being levitated.

Victoria was taken towards the window against her will, and she opened her eyes to see her father hovering over her as he pinned her down against the windowsill.

"How can you stare into my eyes without seeing my mother living within me?" Victoria choked out. Augustus cringed.

"She would hate you for who you've become." She said, choking on her breath. "She would destroy you where you stand!"

Victoria became overwhelmed with power, and she found herself spewing a green shimmering dust into her father's face. The man stumbled away from the window, the bond breaking.

Victoria stood up and managed to whip past her father before striking him in the back of the head. The sorcerer fell to the ground, lifting his head as his eyes scanned the room.

Items around the room were pulled from shelves and cases, and everything was sent directly at Victoria. She found herself trying to dodge them, but she was too late.

Her leg gave out as one of the books slammed into her knee, and she fell to the floor. The brunette screamed as her father pinned her down, trying to grab his dagger from his belt.

Victoria screamed loudly, and she threw her father backwards. She flew through the air and dove towards him, but he was one step ahead of her.

Augustus wrapped his hands around her throat and slammed her down against the windowsill. After a loud crack, Victoria screamed as pain shot through the lower half of her body, before numbness began to spread slowly.

"Your mother is dead." He said through his gritted teeth as she struggled to breathe through the sharp pain. "And now, you will see what it's like."

When Victoria opened her eyes, they were glowing the same blue. Augustus stared in shock, watching as electricity ran throughout her body, electrocuting his fingers.

Augustus flew backwards as Victoria's body was lifted into the air, the woman hanging in the air as something possessed her body.

A loud, booming voice escaped her mouth as Augustus shielded his eyes.

"Augustus, what have you done?"

The sorcerer knew that feminine, alarming voice coming from within his daughter to be his murdered wife.

The man staggered to his feet. "Adeline?"

"You knew the pix gene ran through my side of the family, and yet you chose that you'd love our child unconditionally. This is the opposite, Augustus. You have failed Victoria; you have failed me."

The man shook his head. "Adeline, she isn't like the others."

"You're right," she said. "She's much more."

Victoria's body moved across the air, until she was standing in front of Augustus. The man stared into the glowing eyes, fearful.

"You've chosen your sorcery over your family. . . You've been consumed by the dark power, turning your own people against you."

"I have the power to take control of everything I want." Augustus said, trying to reason. "Adeline, don't you see? This power, it could save you."

"I will not cheat death like you did." She said, Victoria flew backwards. "And you will not cheat death again.

Her arms were extended forward, and Augustus began to scream. A blue aura escaped the sorcerer's body, traveling to Victoria and running up her arms and through her veins.

Victoria threw her head back and screamed as the power moved through her wounded body. Her eyes glowed one last time as she stayed within the air.

Lightning flashed throughout the room, and the fire wept through uncontrollably around them.

Augustus stumbled forward, and a figure moved through the room and moved towards him. The old man opened his eyes, his breath escaping his lips as a sword struck him through the chest.

He was pushed towards the windowsill, pinned over the edge. Augustus looked up to see Geralt staring down at him, twisting his sword through his flesh.

"You've lost, Augustus." Geralt said to him. "There's no more coming back."

Augustus stared at him as his body began to stiffen, and the pain slowly faded.

"Tell her. . ." He said, swallowing as blood spilled from his mouth. "Tell her she has her mother's heart."

Geralt waited for the man's body to still, and the last beat of his heart before pulling the sword from his chest. The witcher tucked his sword back into its strap, and he turned around to see Victoria's body laying limp on the floor.

The witcher hurried towards her, breathing through the thick smoke from the extinguished fire. He knelt beside Victoria, grabbing her face.

"Victoria," he said, examining the wounds on her skin. The witcher could see the injuries she suffered, including the paraplegia.

"Fuck!" He growled, reclining her body. He stared down at her, noticing the fluttering of her eyelashes.

The woman inhaled, unable to open her eyes fully. But she knew who she was being held by, who's arms were holding her safely and securely.

"You lied to me," she said softly. There was no trace of anger in her voice, no lace of venom.

Geralt leaned down and pressed his lips to her forehead. "I've regretted it ever since."

Her head fell back as she slipped into unconsciousness.
