"Eliza, we have to go," ordered Theo, wrapping his arms around my waist, helping me up. I stepped back, breathing heavily as I gazed down at the body of the young girl who had given herself up for me.

"She said my old pack helped?" I whispered, looking up at Theo questionably.

Theo nodded. "They caused a distraction and lead whoever was outside away, but they should be coming back anytime now, so we all have to go."

"Go where?" I asked, struggling to keep my eyes open, swaying on my feet.

"Logan," replied Theo.

The mention of Logan caused my heart to flutter, and I struggled to hold back tears at the thought that I would finally see him again. I wasn't going to die like I had thought, and I no longer had to regret not saying the things I wanted to say to the people I loved.

I looked over at Emily who was already on her feet, swaying a little, but she appeared to have control over her balance.

"Okay, let's go," I said as I took a few steps, but my feet crumbled beneath me, and I fell into a heap on the grass.

Theo shook his head, making his way over to me and picking me up, swinging me around so I was on his back. "There's no way you can walk Eliza."

"You've recently been injected with wolfsbane Eliza. Your muscles aren't going to allow you to walk," said Emily.

"What about you?" asked Theo, raising his eyebrows.

"I haven't been injected for a few days. Most of it has left my system. I'll be able to walk, but I'll be slow," mumbled Emily, raking her hands through her dirty blonde hair.

I shook my head as I wrapped my arms around Theo's neck. "We can't leave Rosalina."

"I can't carry you both," said Theo as he begin to walk, causing me to whine. "Once you're safe, I'll come back for her. That way, she can have a proper funeral."

Tears blurred my vision as we walked, threatening to spill yet again, but I didn't even have the energy to cry. I rested my head down on Theo's back, closing my eyes, but unable to sleep, my thoughts and questions racing inside my head, making me feel stir crazy.

"Theo, how are you awake?" I asked, squeezing onto him tighter. I was fully expecting to never see Theo again, even if I had survived. He was on the brink of death, and it baffled me how he was now up and walking.

Theo chuckled, shaking his head. "I guess my conscience knew you were in trouble."

I huffed, rolling my eyes. "I'm being serious, how are you here right now? What happened?"

"Well, I woke up, and I didn't know what the hell was going on for a while, but Rosalina came to me and told me everything."

"It was a little hard to trust her, but she was right about Logan, I knew he would act out in anger instead of thinking things through, and he'd end up getting everyone killed."

"Rosalina knew where Joanna stocked her wolfsbane, but I didn't know she was going to do what she did down there. The plan was for everyone to get out, except Joanna," explained Theo, dropping his head as he sighed.

"How come my old pack is involved?" I questioned, my thoughts flashing to my parents, and the last time I saw them.

"Rosalina went to them. The entire pack wanted to help, but we only needed a few for the distraction, but, your parents are desperate to see you Eliza, and so is James. They've all been so worried about you," said Theo, as he held onto Emily with one of his hands, helping her remain steady on her feet as she stepped over a large log.

"I want to see them," I mumbled, looking up as grey clouds started to shift above us, taking over and covering up any sight of blue.

Spitting rain started to fall down, slowly soaking all of through as we walked, but I didn't mind. I was happy to finally be out of that hell hole. I was happy to finally see nature and feel fresh air, even if it was cold and breezy fresh air.

"What do you think will happen once Joanna's helpers get back and see what has happened?" asked Emily, chewing on her fingernails in angst.

Theo shrugged. "Rosalina said they were all only helping Joanna because they owed her something, and she'd done something for all of them at one time or another.

She demanded their help, and threatened them, so, hopefully when they find out Joanna's dead, they'll be more pleased than anything."

We weaved through the forest slowly, butterflies forming in my stomach at the thought of seeing Logan again, not knowing how he was going to react. I know I probably didn't look anything near presentable right now, but I just wanted to feel safe in his arms again.

"How has Logan been?" I asked Theo, nervous to hear his answer.

"Not good. He's wrecked his bedroom and office, Heather had to stop him because it was scaring Millie. I don't think he's slept at all; he's just been out trying to find you the entire time. It was hard to watch, knowing I knew where you were, but as I said before, it was the best thing to do."

"What about The Whipping?" I mumbled.

"Rosalina told me he freaked out before it could start because some of his guards came searching for you because you'd escaped, and when he sent someone out into the crowd to try and find you and they couldn't, he cancelled the event and sent everyone home again."

"So no one got hurt?" I asked worriedly.

Theo shook his head. "No, nobody actually got whipped, but the nearby packs aren't very happy Eliza. This is the second event Logan has cancelled now on the spot, and people aren't overly impressed."

I sighed, not knowing what to say, but I was happy that nobody actually got hurt this time, and I most definitely would not be letting Logan organise another one of these sick events.

I knew that letting everyone know that Logan had a mate came with risks, but I was willing to accept those risks.

I wanted to be the Luna of The Dark Moon Pack.
