"You're...what?" I stammered as I took a step back, my chocolate brown eyes bulging wide.

Logan held my gaze, reading me, anxiously chewing on his tongue before dropping his gaze. "I knew you'd be upset."

"Upset?!" I exploded, gritting my teeth together as hard as I could to stop myself from screaming.

"Upset is most definitely an understatement Logan! I don't understand; why would you do this again? You know how I feel about this; how everyone feels about this! You're going to put everyone through this again! For what? What reason is there? I'm not good enough for you? You want a stronger mate? Get over yourself!"

Logan's hazel eyes held remorse and  anguish, and I could tell by his deeply furrowed brows, he wasn't enjoying my reaction.

I took another step back, my broken heart pulsating fast inside of my chest, causing it to visibly move up and down. "You know, you shouldn't apologise for things you're just going to do again."

I span on my heel, but Logan grabbed my wrist softly, his eyes pleading with mine.

"Eliza, please just let me explain, I-"

"Go to hell Logan," I spat as I yanked my wrist away, giving him one last glare before I took off running in the direction of Alpha James' house. I let tears pour down my cheeks as I pushed myself to run faster. I knew Logan wasn't following me, but I wanted to get as far away from that man as possible.

He wasn't going to do this. I wasn't going to let him. He was sick and cruel and everything everyone said about him was true. I had tried to deny it, but there was no use now. He was a monster. I was mated to a monster.

As I approached Alpha James' front door, I tried to steady my breathing by leaning down and placing my hands on my knees, sucking in as much of the fresh air that I could, but it wasn't helping. I was still a mess.

I let out a small sob, burying my face in my hands, unsure of what I was even going to say to James.

Another sob racked my body as I let out a scream in anger and frustration. Everything was so built up inside of me, and, in that very moment, it all came out.

I suddenly felt a soft pair of arms pull me to a chest and my head snapped up to see Theo's concerned face, his eyes scanning me for any injuries. "Eliza, what happened? What's wrong?"

"Everyone was right," I sobbed, burying my face into his thin T-shirt, no doubt making it damp instantly from my uncontrollable tears. "He's horrible. I hate him."

"Logan?" whispered Theo, rubbing my pack softly, trying to calm me. "What the hell did he do?"

I pulled away, brushing my brunette hair away from my tear stained cheeks, trying to control my rapid breathing.

Theo's emerald green eyes gazed into my dark brown ones in worry as he held onto my shoulders, crouching down so he was at my height. "I need to know what he did."

I nodded, wiping another tear away with the palm of my hand, not caring about how much of a mess I was looking right now. My emotions were overwhelming and there was no hiding them anymore, especially not from Theo. "He's organising another Whipping."

Theo instantly let go of me, his mouth hanging open in shock as he took several steps back, running his hands through his soft brown hair in angst.

"I don't know why," I mumbled, fiddling with my fingers as more tears threatened. I knew he didn't get a chance to explain himself, but I didn't want to hear it. I knew no explanation would be good enough.

There was no reason to organise another monstrous event, especially since I thought he actually liked me...

"Where is he?" grunted Theo as he scanned the perimeter, his eyes now filled with hate and rage.

"Theo, he's-" I started before I was interrupted.

"Right here."

Logan slowly stalked towards us, his hands in his pockets to show he wasn't about to try anything crazy, which only angered Theo even more.

"You come over here all cocky, huh?" probed Theo as he marched up to Logan, stopping just inches in front of him, their noses nearly touching.

"Theo, don't," I pleaded.

"I think you should get out of my face, kid," threatened Logan, his gravelly voice carrying a more than intimidating tone.

Theo laughed, shaking his head. "You think you're such a big guy. Well, news flash, you're a coward. A sick, sadistic-"

Theo was interrupted by a fist making contact with his face, the cracking of bones causing my ears to ring and my stomach to turn.

"Stop!" I yelled, running over to Theo to take a look at his now bleeding nose, but he waved me away, his eyes fixated on Logan's now shaking form.

"Is that it?" jeered Theo, flashing his pearly white teeth.

"I wouldn't taunt me," growled Logan, shaking his head in fury.

"You can't even explain why you're organising another Whipping? You instantly just turn to violence to solve all your problems? That really says what kind of man you are, Logan."

I furrowed my brows and bit on my lip nervously, not liking the sight in front of me. I knew all of this jeering and taunting wasn't going to end well, but could you really stop two furious testosterone filled men when in a heated fight?

Both wanted to win, and neither would back down.

"Do you enjoy watching young women get tortured Logan? Is that it? Do you get some sick kick out of it?" mumbled Theo, taking a threatening step forwards.

Logan's face was a mask of pure hatred and his eyes, which were usually a glowing hazel, were now pitch black. He was shaking and his fists were clenched so hard they were starting to turn white.

I could see he was trying to restrain himself from shifting and ripping Theo's head off. He knew what would happen if he did that. There would be an up-roar.

"Still going to just stand there? You should-"

Before Theo could finish his sentence, he was on the floor, being pinned down by Logan. I gasped, taking a few steps closer to let Logan know I was still present and watching.

"You want to know why I'm organising it again?!" yelled Logan, his grip tightening on Theo's neck as he shoved him further into the dirt. "It's to protect her. It will protect her!"

Using his knees, Theo kicked Logan off him, sending him stumbling backwards into the mud.

"How in hell would doing something like this be protecting her?" asked Theo, shaking his head and brushing off his jeans.

I took a step closer to Logan who gazed up at me sadly.

"I don't care what you have to say Logan. I don't want to know how this is going to apparently protect me, because it's not. This is going to hurt my family and I in ways you can't imagine, but, I don't think you even care about that."

"You want another Whipping? Fine, so be it, but, I will be volunteering, and will ensure that no one else from my pack does."
