The... male lead? Why is the...
Darn. I forgot about it- this was actually in the plot.
Phoenix was meant to meet the male lead like this, so she could fall in love with him.
Ah, how could I even forget about that? It was such an important part of the book; the heroine met both the male lead, & the villain in the same place, at the exact same time this day.
My memory is totally messed up, but then again it's not like I tried hard to...
An uncomfortable feeling pooled in my chest. Like something was clenching around my heart. The key word: try hard.
Ian was staring at me. Perhaps waiting for my reaction.
     '... Ah, I'm Phoenix Elan.'
'Yes. Nice to meet you.'
'Young master Elan is looking for you lady Elan. So I suggest we go-' I pulled my hand out of his as he tried to lead me forward.
Something made me want to against every word he was saying- strange impulses I didn't even try resisting. Trying... wasn't my forte, & I didn't want it to be.

'I'll just wait for them to find me,' I replied to him who was staring at me. At that, the dark glint in his eyes I hadn't even noticed until it was gone disappeared.
Like he was finally sure of something...
     Whatever.
'Go find the young master of Elan, & tell him where we are,' Ian commanded turning away from me dismissingly.
It's not that it bothered me though.
Ian met me today so he could clearly see the difference between me, & Selene. The plot goes on like this... while Phoenix didn't fall in love at first sight, this was when they decided to be engaged. Because-
A shrill scream sounded. Disgusting screech that made me shudder.
   'What was that?' he muttered.
... I didn't know. Even though I think I was supposed to know, I didn't remember.
Ian Vuinter took a step forward as he pulled out his gleaming sword out of his belt skillfully.
It seemed as if he was on guard. Well, of course he was. This forrest is more or less, dangerous for normal human beings.
Ah. The male lead is not a normal human being though, but-
    Whoosh!
Ian who was standing before me just seconds ago was thrown back like a sack of potatoes by something. I couldn't even see what hit him but...
So effortlessly, the male lead...
      Wings beat above me.
The male lead, who learned sword art from young age, & had endless source of mana... was thrown back so easily.
When I looked up, I found myself staring at these strange things... definitely not a human.
Three of them, if you count the one that was now with Ian.
Call me a coward but I didn't even think of Ian for a split second. I didn't worry if he was hurt, or dead but only thought about myself.
Who wouldn't anyway? Perhaps the male leads, & heroine... but they're not human beings.
They're not normal humans- they're the protagonists from a fantasy novel. While I... I am only just a human.
