The birthday party ended soon enough. However, the reason why I went to the party... well, I know where it is now. That's all I need anyway.

    'My lady, why do you...?'

'Drop me off here,' I commanded not so loudly, however the carriage halted as soon as I said those words; usually, I wouldn't be so forward, or restless, but I was now incapable of feeling tired, or lazy. All I felt was that, I wanted the ring.

   'My lady, it's noon-'

'You stay in the carriage,' I ordered her with a harsh voice, & gestured at one of the knights to follow me. As I stared at the boutique before me, I pulled the hood over my head. It was hard to see in the dark however, the massive store that stood before me...

Ordinary thief won't be able to steal from there so... an assassination guild is more sufficient.

                                      ...

The man looked down at me coldly but I didn't even flinch, instead I took another three gold coins, & put it on the counter; 'So? How long must I wait? I'm not so patient.'

He was probably trying to make out if this was a joke, or not, but it's probably weird that a kid like me knows about the assassination guild when no one else does, for him. A noble kid, with her escort waiting outside...

'Follow me, little lady,' he sighed, & walked behind the counter to open a door behind. It was a dark corridor with few lights, & we spiraled down the stairs for a long time until we reached another door. Loud voices were coming from behind it, but I expressed no disgust, or irritation.

When the door opened, a large hall room with round tables, people... no assassins.

They all turned towards my direction, staring at me with blood lust, curiosity, or even mocking looks in their eyes. However, if I as much as flinched at their gaze, it will be the end of me.

When people see a weak thing, they get the obvious urge to break it, & I didn't want to look like a prey to them now.

No one made up their way towards us, who were walking across the room with lenient steps. Soon, we reached another door... much more dreadful looking one from before. No, it actually looked fancy but... there was a dreadful energy coming from behind it.

'Little miss, the person behind this door-'

'Is a psycho, I know,' I said quietly, so that only the person next to me could hear it; something much worse than dying is killing to live. Mentally dead, but physically alive. Another form of torture basically.

The guild master, apparently a young bachelor, he... goes to war with the demon lord alongside Ian. As Ian becomes the war hero, earning the title of the duke, he becomes the general. So, in this... his role is unexpectedly the friend of the male lead, though older than 8 years.

'...' the man stared down at me in shock- even though I was wearing a hood, & was looking forward, I felt his gaze on me.

'Open the door- as I said, I have little patience.'

                                                    ...

I sat down on the couch comfortably, & the man stared at me with his chin on his palm; 'What might a little kiddo like you be doing here?' he asked with a playful tone- this guy actually had a pretty memorable face. No, it wasn't his face that was memorable, it was his hair.

I guess he had on ok face, but knowing me, I'd forget it pretty soon. However, his bright strawberry red hair enabled me from doing so. Staring at his hair, I unconsciously gulped making him chuckle in the mocking way- he was making fun of me.

It felt like he had listened to all my talks, & bluffs, and he could tell they were a lie. For him, I was just an amusement.

That said, I snapped back to reality, & shook my head; 'I'm here to hire your best assassin.'

His eyes grew wide in surprise, but soon he smiled; 'Who is it?'

I understood what he was asking- who do I want dead?

'You...' there was silence, as he was probably waiting for me to continue, but I had already said my answer; 'It's you,' I said one more time, & he burst into a loud laughter.

'Oh lord, kid... I don't know who taught you to insult someone at their home, but that person... would definitely be dead now,' he said glaring at me, his playfulness from before disappearing. The pressure was too suffocating- it felt like someone was strangling me.

However, I acted like I wasn't fazed while clenching my cloak to hide my trembling hands- I'm sure he noticed it though. Because he soon laughed again, like nothing was wrong; 'Now, go on. I'll excuse your behavior since you're-'

'I meant it. It's you I want to hire no matter how high the price is,' I said with a determined voice.

'Oh?' he tilted his head- maybe he thought that I wanted him to be killed. Well, it's not like I have to answer his questions.

   'Why is that?'

'You don't have the right to ask questions- I'm the client, &... if you don't believe me,' I pulled down my hood to reveal my face at last; 'This will assure you that I'm no liar.'
