                                                                                   Victoria

Victoria pulled up to the old house, it was bigger in person than it was in the pictures Vitus had provided for her. Absent-mindedly, she looked at her long red, fake nails with disinterest. She hadn't seen Eugene for at least 30 years now. She wanted him back in the clan, of course she did. How could she not, she loved him.

But it was obvious he didn't return those feelings and if there was anything Victoria knew about herself. It was her worth. She deserved someone who could love her back. With a sigh, she stepped out of her silver convertible. Her high heels clacked on the concrete, as she made her way to the front door.

She prayed this would work, Eugene would return to his senses and come back to the Modesto Clan. Eugene had saved her once; she was sentenced to be hanged after she had murdered her abusive husband in the 18th century. But Eugene had come, like her own personal angel and broke her out of prison, passing her over to Vitus. So Vitus could turn her into a Vampire.

Now, Victoria wanted to be the one to save Eugene. If this didn't work, and if Eugene didn't return to their clan. It wouldn't end well. Vitus always got what he wanted. And if he didn't, it would only end in bloodshed.

Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed the curtains of the front window move. Peering from behind them was a young woman, around 22 years old with long brown hair and pale skin. Victoria strained her senses, she couldn't hear a heartbeat. Nor could she sense anything else, it was like a void in space.

Realisation hit her like a truck, she was looking directly at a ghost. It shouldn't have surprised her really, Eugene did always love strays. She would have to tell Vitus about this, if he knew and they did something about it. Then maybe Eugene would finally come home.

With a smirk, she gave the woman a wave.

The ghost's eyes widened and she visibly stepped back. Good. She should be afraid, thought Victoria. Victoria would do anything to bring Eugene home. She knew her love was unrequited, but that didn't mean she was going to step back and watch as Eugene burned to the ground.

She posted the letter through the letter box, and left with a twinkle in her eye. Vitus would love to know just who Eugene was harbouring. She blew the ghost a kiss, and winked before stepping into her convertible and driving off.

Yes, Victoria would do anything to bring Eugene back. Even if it meant getting rid of one of his strays.

                                                                             Annalise

Annalise rushed to the front door the moment the woman left in her pretentious convertible. There was the letter she posted, resting gently on the welcome carpet. She scrambled to pick it up, wishing that she could actually interact with it. For once she managed to hold it, raising it in the air with a triumphant 'yes!' before bringing it back down so she could read it.

'Dear little Lion,

I'm sure you remember me? Don't you, Eugene? Well, I think it's time you came home now.

Don't you?

Faithfully,

Vitus Modesto

Annalise frowned, hands holding the letter just a little tighter than before. The words itself were written in rusted red colour, smelling putrid of iron. Did this man really write this letter in blood? Her hands began to shake just as the letter phased through her hands. "Dammit!" she hissed, attempting to pick it back up, to no avail. "God dammit!"

She stomped her foot in frustration. Who was this man, and what did he want with Eugene? She glanced towards the clock in the hallway, it read 10pm. She'd have to wait at least another 8 hours before Eugene came back. Annalise groaned in frustration, wishing she had a way to contact him.

For a moment she paused, her eyebrows scrunching as she thought. Maybe she could contact him? She remembered Eugene had a home phone, he placed it in the office besides the main bedroom in case of emergencies. Rushing up the stairs, determination filled her. If she could hold the letter today, even if it was only for a short while. Then perhaps she could dial his number too.

So caught up in her thoughts she didn't even notice when she phased through the locked office door. Annalise sprinted for the desk, hoping against hope that this would work. Quickly, she managed to pick up the phone from its dock. Not even celebrating as she scrolled through the contacts and picked out the one named Eugene.

"Come on, come on, come on," She muttered under her breath as she listened to the number dial. As she was waiting the phone fell through her hands. "Shit!" In a panic, she fell to the floor on her knees, looking at the phone to make sure it wasn't broken.

"Hello? Who is this?" Eugene's voice called from it, tone dark and serious.

"Eugene! It's me! Annalise!" She called, kneeling as close to the phone as she could get.

"Wait, what. Anna? What are you doing?" he stammered, seeming confused.

"You need to come back home. Some woman, she dropped you off a letter. I- i think it's written in blood." she explained.

"Anna. Tell me what she looked like," Eugene demanded in a rush. "Tell me what she looked like Anna." Annalise stuttered for a bit, put off by the harshness of his tone.

"She had blonde hair? Erm, brown eyes. She was kind of small, but she was wearing red high heels-" she rambled.

"Shit! Fuck!" Eugene shouted, there was a rustling sound on his end of the phone, after the sound of an engine purred. "I knew I wouldn't be able to get away from them for long. Jesus Christ,". Annalise made a face, looking down at the phone. What was he on about?

"I'll be there in a minute. Don't let anyone in the house." Annalise scrunched her face in confusion. Just how was she meant to do that.
