Jay mulled over what Roberto had said to her for ages before texting Rachel.

Jay: Is it just me or is Roberto weird?

Rachel: I just think he's a bit lonely maybe. You never really see him with anyone, why?

Jay: just a few things. Like he knew about me and Jack and basically said don't go official it'll wreck your career, and then he saw me in Asda with the pregnancy test and assumed it was mine then came and asked me about it like it was any of his business.

Rachel: okay, that's weird. Just be glad he doesn't speak to Jack, can you imagine he congratulated him on the baby 🤣

Jay: omg no! I'm an eternal aunty, not a Mum!

Rachel: Haha! He's been here forever, he's harmless

Jay: You're probably right.

Jay put her phone down and shook her head, now that wouldn't be funny at all, and she was just being paranoid about him. She got straight back to work on the pile of papers that she had to sort before she headed back to Scotland for Christmas at the end of the week. Suddenly a thought crossed her mind, she still had to buy a Christmas present for Jack. What on Earth do you buy the man who buys himself diamonds in the back of a car in the Etihad carpark?

Knowing Jack, he'd love whatever she got him, but she wanted to get him something special. Her brain began to tick, and then it hit her, she was going to get him a padlock with their names on, just like the ones they'd seen in Paris. Maybe they'd go back to that bridge together one day and attach it. She thought back to that night, and smiled. She closed her eyes and remembered their first kiss.

'I hope you're thinking about me with a smile like that on your face' said Jack, popping his head around the door.

'I was just remembering Paris actually' she sighed contentedly.

'I've been smiling like that all day too, but u was thinking about last night' he said, coming and throwing himself back into the chair opposite her. He had the tightest training shorts on that she'd ever seen him in, and he'd even gone for a cheeky short tuck. 'You have no idea how much I want to bend you over that desk right now' he added casually.

Her heart began to beat faster.

'Grealish, you're pure filth, and I love it' she joked.

'So you want to get a hotel again tonight?' He asked hopefully. It was a strange feeling for Jack, being with someone who he genuinely wanted to spend time with. It was a big change from his constant avoidance of Tasha.

'Sorry I can't, I said I'd take Olly to training tonight, Anna's feeling like crap so I want to help out. Who knew morning sickness could last all day?'

'Can I come with you then? I'd like to see Olly, and I don't just like spending time with you in bed, you get me?'

She loved that he wanted to do that with her.

'I get you' she laughed. 'Why don't I pick you up when I leave here and you can come and have dinner with us too, but I'll warn you, it's me cooking tonight though, not Anna I'm afraid'

'Sounds banging, I love chicken nuggets and chips so long as there's beans and plenty ketchup' he joked.

'Oi, I'm not that bad!' She laughed. She loved the cheeky grin on his face, it made her want him to bend her over the desk. 'Right get out of here, I've got work to do'

He blew her a kiss and left her to get on.

Nadia was completely useless the whole afternoon. She put files in the wrong places, made stupid spelling mistakes, and even answered the phone forgetting her own name. Her positive pregnancy test had absolutely out a cat amongst the pigeons for her, and her mind was whirling with 'what if's'.

John was already a doting dad to his daughter, but she was worried, what if he didn't want another baby? What if he thought it was so soon into their relationship for such a big step? What if he dumped her and left her to raise the baby alone?

Her mind began to bounce from scenario to scenario. Then she had a brain wave, what if the test was wrong? Maybe it was faulty, or maybe clear blue was an unreliable brand. She decided to Google it. 99% accurate. Shit.

She'd always imagined finding out she was pregnant in a completely different way. In her mind she'd be married, and they'd have planned the baby. Maybe he'd have been sat on the bath, waiting for the lines to appear with her. Maybe he'd have thrown his arms around her in delight at the result. Instead, the cold hard reality was that she'd been in the toilet at work with her friends, whilst he was outside training.

The dread was building, and she knew that if she didn't tell John soon then she never would. She made her excuses and made her way back to John's where she knew he'd be after training.

The whole drive across town seemed to go in a blur. When she pulled up at the front door she genuinely couldn't remember most of the drive there. She sat in the car for a moment and practised how she was going to tell him.

'John i'm....' She could barely say the word, but it was now or never. She opened the door and let herself in. John was stood in the kitchen making himself a smoothie.

'Alright beautiful, you're home early' he said giving her a kiss on the cheek. 'I didn't think you'd be back for hours yet'

'John, we need to talk' she said. 'I think you'd better sit down' she blurted out

He looked confused, but did as she asked and perched on the stool at the breakfast bar next to her.

'What's the matter love?' He asked, reading her stressed expression.

'Now, before I tell you this I want you to know, this was not deliberate and it's as much of a shock to me as it will be to you' she continued to ramble on, until John smiled. He put his hand on her shoulder to stop her.

'Nadia, are you pregnant?' He asked smiling.

She inhaled then nodded.

'That's amazing news' he said, pulling her in and wrapping her in his strong arms.

'I was so scared. I mean I am so scared, this was just such a shock' she began to babble.

'We'll make it work Nadia, stop worrying so much. We might need a bigger house though'

'We?' She asked.

'Makes no sense us not living together now, does it? anyway, you're here more times than you're round your place' He said casually, as if it weren't a massive step forward for them.

'I guess' she sighed.

'Nadia, I love you, now will you please calm down' he laughed softly.

Jay pulled up at the back of Jack's building. There was a sheltered car port where she could drive into without being seen, and he was there waiting for her. He was wearing a bright green hoody on with navy Nike shorts and Air Force ones, accessorised with a cap and sunglasses. You wouldn't have thought it was December.

He chucked a bag into the back seat as he got in. He then shoved the car seat back as far as it would go and reclined back. His legs were splayed open, but know she'd seen him naked, she knew that was a necessity.

'I brought my boots, just in case Chris wants a hand' he explained smiling.

'So what we're saying here is that you really want to help then?' She asked.

'I swear you always know what I'm thinking' he laughed. 'Nah like I sez before, I want to sponsor the team or get involved or something. I remember at Villa when the propa legends would come to our training and it just gave you a push. You get me?'

'I'll text Chris when we're back and see what he says' she replied.

'So what you making for dinner then?' He asked.

'Spag Bol, from scratch, plenty veg and no nasties. I hope that's okay for you? I don't really know what you are and aren't allowed yet'

'Yeah, it sounds banging. I love home cooked food me'

Back at the house, Jack sat at the dinner table in the kitchen with Olly whilst she made dinner. She smiled as she watched Jack showing Olly videos on his phone of the team in training.

'Watch this from Bernardo. What an 'eader, ay?' said Jack excitedly.

'What an 'eader!' Echoed Olly.

'Tea's ready' shouted Jay.

Jack looked up at her confused.

'Tea?'

'Yeah, spag bol' she replied, equally as confused.

'Ah, you mean dinner' he said, as she put the plate in front of him. Whilst on one hand it felt weirdly domesticated, she also felt a little nervous.

'Proppa banging this' said Jack, almost shovelling it in his mouth, making Jay and Olly laugh.

Josh and Anna appeared from upstairs to eat with them too, although she looked decidedly green around the edges. It felt like Jack was becoming part of the family.

At training, Chris got the full Broski treatment from Jack, and the boys from the team looked at him in shock, except Olly who beamed at him. Jay knew Jack was now officially his second favourite player after Ronaldo.

'Right boys, my mate Jack has come to give us a shooting masterclass' explained Chris.

'Jay, you going in goals?' Called Jack, jokingly.

'I forgot my boots, so I'll pass' she called back.

She sat on her folding chair at the side of the pitch and watched the session. Jack was amazing with the boys, and they soon forgot 'who' he was. She could see him and Chris were getting on well too. It was probably what they both needed.

'Right boys, seeing as it's our last training session before Christmas, you've all got a present' said Chris, handing out a selection box and a ball to each of them.

'And boys, take some videos of your skills with the new balls and get your mums and dads to send them to me on my Instagram so I can have a look, will youse?' added Jack.

They all nodded.

There were a lot of high 5's, a few selfies and loads of Merry Christmases before finally Jay got the boys back in the car.

'Chris said I can come back anytime' said Jack happily.

'Can I ask you something?' Said Olly.

'Anything mate' said Jack.

'Are you and my aunty Jay boyfriend and girlfriend?'

Before Jay could stop him Jack said
'Yeah, yeah we are, is that alright with you mate?'

'Yeah, it's cool with me' said Olly, already imagining telling people his uncle was Jack Grealish.

'But Olly, it's private for the time being okay? Just between us and your mum and dad. People like to be really nosey about Jack's life and it's just better if we don't say anything yet, yeah?' Said Jay, trying to rescue the situation.

'Yeah, alright' said Olly, shrugging it off.

Jay dropped Olly back at the house, and then took Jack home. In the car port, he turned to face her fully.

'What am I going to do when you go to Scotland?' Asked Jack, playing with her hair.

'Go home to your Mum?' She joked sarcastically.

'Yeah, no, but I'm going to miss ya, aren't I?'

'And I'll miss you too' she said, kissing his forehead.

'There's something we need to talk about though Jay'

'What's that?' She asked.

'When I'm at Mum's me and Tash are going tell everyone that we're done' he began

'Yeah.....'

'Can I tell my family about me and you?' He asked.

'If you want to, yeah' she nodded, not quite sure as to what they'd make of the news that Tasha had been replaced so quickly.

'And are you going tell your Mum and Dad about me?' He asked.

'Maybe. Dad's a bit funny about me having boyfriends and stuff, especially the ones he hasn't met' she explained.

'And then what about work? Will we sign their stupid agreement after Christmas?'

'Yeah, we'll see' she said.

'Jay, sometimes you confuse me. Like I'm sat here holding your hand and you're smiling at me, but at the same time you're acting like you want me and you to be a secret, I can't figure you out' he confessed.

'I just don't want to rush things, okay? I want us to make sure we're both ready when we take that step' she explained trying to be diplomatic.

'Alright' said Jack, she could tell he was slightly deflated. 'I love you though, and I am sure, so I'll be ready when you are' he reassured her.
