Ferran's words wouldn't stop going round in Jack's head, and the more he thought about them, the more he realised how stupid he'd been. Not just by hiding the deal from Jay, but by agreeing to it in the first place. That wasn't who he was, an attention seeking fame-whore. At the end of the day, he just wanted to play football. And be with Jay. Not in six months, but now.

Tasha had been blowing up his phone since he'd left her. Now he had a plan, he needed to call her back. No, he needed to do this face to face. It was time to stop hiding from the hard stuff. He grabbed his jacket from the back of the chair and ran out of the club.

Jay saw him leave out the corner of her eye. She couldn't quite tell if she was glad he was leaving her alone or sad that he hadn't tried harder to change her mind about him. Even though she had been the one to tell him to, she hadn't really wanted him to listen. Regardless of all that, he had gone, and she'd had her heart set on a good night and that's exactly what she was going to have.

Over at the bar Phil, Kyle and A few others were getting rounds of shots in, now that looked like fun.

'Mind if I join you?' She asked.

'Bash on Jay!' Said Phil, handing her two.

Although Tasha had been home for a while, she was sat up waiting for Jack to get back in her black, personalised, satin pyjamas.

'Oh my god, Jack, I'm glad you're back, I was worried about you' she said, walking towards him, arms outstretched to give him a hug.

Jack held up his hand and signalled to her to stop.

'Tonight is possibly one of the worst nights I've ever had in my whole life' he admitted. 'It was even worse than when Villa got relegated in 2016'

'Jack, honest, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you' she said.

Jack shook his head at her in disbelief.

'How much money do you lose if we break those deals?' He asked calmly.

'It's about £500,000 between us, give or take ' she said, 'why?'

'I'll give you the money, however much it is, it's yours, but I'm not doing this anymore. I'm going to speak to the PR company tomorrow and tell them the deals off' he said firmly.

'You can't do that Jack' she said, horrified.

'I can, and I am. And I want you out the flat too. I'll help you find somewhere else, but after that you're on your own. We both need to be on our own. You get me?'

'This is so you can be with her isn't it? She's fallen for the charm, like I did, and let you away with it all hasn't she? Did you smile and bat your eyelashes and tell her you wouldn't do it again? Like you always told me?' Tasha was so frustrated.

'No, she hasn't actually. She won't even speak to me, but I'm not doing this for anyone else, I'm doing this for us Tash, this whole being famous thing has changed us so much that we forgot what was important'

'And what's that Jack? Huh?'

'That love comes before money Tash'

'Is that an inspirational quote or something? She asked.

'Nah, Ferran said it, but it should be' he replied.

Rachel, Chris, John, Nadia and Jay headed back to the hotel. Rachel had already checked a hundred times with Jay that she was okay with her bringing Chris back, but Jay was totally fine with it. They'd quickly disappeared into Rachel's room like giggling love sick teenagers.

'Are you going to be okay on your own?' Asked Nadia.

'Listen, I've drunk more than enough to go into that room and fall asleep face down. At least this way I don't need to worry about who hears me snoring' Jay giggled.

'Jay, it is okay not to be okay though, you don't need to put on a brave face, we know how much you're hurting'

'You're right, and I am hurting, but let's deal with that tomorrow when this halls not spinning, Kay?'

They all said goodnight and Jay made her way along the corridor to her room. She slipped the key card in and walked in. It was pitch black she fiddled around looking for a light switch, turned it on and screamed.

'You whaaaaaat' he shouted.

'Jack, how the hell did you get in my room?' She said, heart racing at a hundred miles per hour, and not just because he looked hot when he was half asleep.

'I told the guy downstairs on the desk that you was my girlfriend and he gave me a key. Big city fan he was, and I fell asleep waiting for you' he explained as if it were a totally normal thing to have done.

'You can't just go letting yourself into peoples rooms' she scolded him.

'Would you have let me in if I'd knocked though?' He raised his eyebrow at her.

'Not tonight, no. I'm too fucking angry at you'

'So, do you want me to go?' He asked, sitting up on the edge of the bed to wait for her answer.

She paused.

'Say what you've got to say, then you can go' she said firmly, trying to hide from him the fact she was secretly impressed by the effort he'd gone to in order to speak to her.

'So Rachel and Chris then?' He asked. His eyes were following her around the room as she took her shoes off and tried to locate her pyjamas.

'Yeah, they suit each other far better than me and him ever did. Plus she's a lot less likely to have sex with someone else behind his back, like I did' she said sarcastically.

'Do you regret it?' He asked. 'Us spending the night together in Paris I mean'

'No, I don't. I probably should, but I don't' she admitted.

She went into the bathroom to change, and came back in a baggy old t shirt and a pair of shorts.

'Nice pjs' he laughed. He just loved how normal she was, not everything needed to be Insta perfect, like with Tasha.

'Jack, you didn't come here to talk about my PJ's, so why are you here?' Now she was changed, she didn't really know what to do with herself. He was back to lying on top of the bed, and she didn't really fancy the chair under the window, so she got into bed next to him and pulled the covers right up: He'd be leaving in a minute anyway, she told herself.

'Ferran told me about Barcelona. He reckons you're not going coz of me'

'Ferran thinks a lot of things, doesn't mean they're all right' she sighed. Bloody Ferran!

'Oi, he's Spanish, not stupid' said Jack, realising that statement made a lot more sense when Ferran had said it himself.

'So why aren't you going?' He pressed.

'I haven't decided one way or another yet'

'Bullshit Jay, you are the most decisive person I know, so tell me. Is it me?' he demanded.

'Yes, maybe it is you' she conceded frustratedly. 'Or should I say was, I don't seem to have that problem anymore, not after tonight'

'I've told Tasha I want out of those deals and she's moving out ASAP. It was toxic with us two, we should have let go a long time ago' he admitted. 'It's going to be hard because I've never not lived with her, and she's taking the dog, but in the long run it's for the best'

'So why are you telling me this?'

'Because, I want you to give me a proper chance. I want to spend more time with you, get to know everything about you and make you happy' he pushed the hair back off her face. 'Jay, I love you, and I'm not being big headed or that, but I know you love me too' he gave her a massive smile and she couldn't resist him any longer.

'Oh Fuck it!' Said Jay, reaching over and planting her lips firmly on his.
