Jack had overheard Jay's conversation in the staff cafe and his brain kicked into gear. He had an idea. And this one wouldn't get him into bother with Pep for a change.

The next day, just before he knew she was due to finish, Jack appeared in Jay's office.

'Okay play it cool' he told himself.

'Alright Jack, I was just about to go' she said.

'Oh right, I was just going to ask you for help with something, but it don't matter. Catch you tomorrow then' he gave her his best puppy dog eyes and watched as she visibly caved in.

'What do you need?' She asked. She could smell his aftershave and it was taking her back to Paris. 'Stop it' said her internal monologue.

'Well, I've got to go and get something to wear for this party, and I was wondering, would you come with me? You know what I'm like, I'll turn up in a pink hoodie and sunglasses or somethin' he laughed.

She shook her head at him.

'Actually, I was supposed to be doing the same thing tonight'

'Ah, alright. I guess I'll just need to bombard you with selfies for your opinion then' he sighed.

She imagined trying to pick something with his messages coming through. It would be impossible.

'Is there no one else who could go with you? Like Tasha maybe' her name stuck in Jay's throat.

'She's away. Please Jay, you always look so smart, that's what look I'm going for'

'Okay then, but what if someone sees us and jumps to conclusions?'

'You were the one that told me in Madrid that boys and girls can be friends, were you not?'

'Yeah'

'We'll come on then, let's go' he knew he'd won, as she picked up her bag and slung it over her shoulder.

'I can't stay for long though, I'll be going shopping for myself afterwards'

'Yeah, no problem' he said, trying not to smirk.

Jay insisted on taking her own car, and followed Jack through the streets of Manchester. He pulled up outside a shop and she stopped behind him. He jumped out the car and she had to smile, she hadn't really paid attention to the fact he was in long baggy shorts, socks and sliders until now. Maybe it was for the best that she go shopping with him.

She followed Jack into the shop and looked around in awe. He'd brought her to a high end designer boutique, and by the fact the security guard had locked the door behind him she could tell it was a private opening just for him. Oh how the other half live.

'Hi Jack' said the shop assistant, who clearly new him well judging by the broski's getting thrown around.

'This is Dave, this is his place' Jack explained.

'And this is Jay' he said, introducing her.

'So what did you have in mind? Dave asked.

'Smart, it's a bit fancy this party we're going to'

'We're going to?' Thought Jay, he made it sound like they were going to go together.

Dave was nodding.

'Got just the thing. And what about you Jay, what are you looking for?'

She froze. She wasn't planning on buying a designer dress, certainly not from somewhere as expensive looking as this.

'Oh, I'm just here to help Jack' she said.

'Come on Jay, just try something on. It'll keep you busy while you wait for me' said Jack.

Now she was embarrassed, how did she tell him she didn't have this kind of money.

Dave was already pulling a dress from the rack for her. She clearly had no choice.

Dave led them to the changing rooms and left them to it.

'How you getting on?' Called Jack.

'Yeah, fine' she replied. The dress she had on was gorgeous. Unbelievable. Incredible. It was a floor length dress, made from emerald green satin, but the straps were gold chains. The back was super low cut and sat just above her ass. It cling to her body in all the right places and made her feel amazing.

'Let's see ya then' said Jack.

'I'm just going to take it off' she said. The longer she stayed in it, the more she was considering taking the money from her house deposit account.

'Nah, let's see. I'll show you mine if you show me yours' he joked.

She took a deep breath and stepped out.

Jack looked absolutely gorgeous in a dark blue suit, with a white shirt under it that was open at the neck. Holy shit. He was turning her on just by looking at him.

'Jay, you look... I don't even know a word to describe it' he gasped. She looked stunning, and the best thing was, she didn't even know it.

'Can you help me wiv my tie?' He asked. 'Still never got the hang of em'

She reached up and put the tie around his neck. They were so close. She tied it as fast as she could and went to step back, but he put his hands on her hips. All she could think was 'if he kisses me, I'm done'

He looked he'd up and down again and then smiled

'Look at us' he said, still standing close to her and pointing at the huge floor length mirror in front of them. 'We look really good together, don't we?'

'Yeah, we do' she gulped. For a moment she let her mind wonder, imagining they were going to the party together. How it would feel to be Jacks date, his girlfriend and not bloody Tasha.

Tasha. Urgh. Total passion killer,

'I'm going to get changed' she said, snapping out of the fantasy.

'How are you getting on?' Called Dave.

'Great, we'll take both outfits' Jack replied.

'Jack, this is Chanel, I can't afford it' she admitted.

'That's alright coz your not paying, I am' said Jack happily.

'You can't buy me this dress, it's £2000!'

'Yes I can, and don't you worry about the price'

'Jack, no, seriously, no! I can't take this'

'You can and you will, no arguments' he stuck his fingers in his ears. 'Blah, blah, blah' he said pretending not to hear her protests. 'The only thing I want to hear you say now is "thank you Jack"'

'Thank you Jack' she said with a sigh. She knew how stubborn he was and knew for a fact that there was no way he'd let her leave without it.

Back home she immediately hung up her dress so as not to crush the fine silk, then went to get Anna.

'I need to talk. Jack told me not to tell anyone, but I need to tell you'

'You slept together again?' Said Anna, eyes massive.

'Noooooo. Not even a kiss, but look at my dress'

'Very fancy, and Chanel? Did you sell your car to pay for it?' Joked Anna.

'Jack bought it for me. We had a moment, and then he said not to tell people he bought it for me. I went from feeling like his number one to the secret fling on the side that you buy stuff for to keep them quiet'

'Or Jack just wanted to do something genuinely nice for you and thought it was nobody else's business. Anyway, he's too young to be a sugar daddy' laughed Anna.

'I'm serious' groaned Jay.

'You're overthinking things. I don't know how many times I need to tell you, he has it bad for you and I know you do for him too'

'I think I'll take it back, get them to refund Jack' mused Jay.

'What and make him think you're ungrateful or not interested? Absolutely not!'

'I guess. Seriously Anna, why couldn't I just feel this way about Chris? It would be so much easier' Jay admitted.

'Bloody knew it!' Said Anna. 'Life is too short, you need to tell Jack how you feel. You might be surprised by what happens'

'Maybe' said Jay, with absolutely no intention whatsoever of taking Anna's advice.
