I close the front door and walk down the crunchy leafy pathway.

"I'll come back to you when I find out something. Okay?" I tell him.

Luckily he had agreed with me upon this.

Arthur was standing against a huge tree, arms folded.

I walked towards him and said, "Okay we can go back now."

"All done?" He asked.

"All done." I said following him back to where we met.

-

My feet touch the squeaky and familiar hardwood floor.

I put my hand over my chest, trying to slow down my rapid breathing.

I look around the room, Mr. Davis wasn't here.

I did it. I did it! I thought to myself.

I had done all of this all by myself, of course with Mr. Davis's help.

I couldn't process the thought that I, Edward Peirce, an ordinary, lonely man had done just traveled in the future.

I loved every bit of this.

I rubbed my eyes before my tear could fall down my cheek, I ran to Mr. Davis's study room in extreme excitement, surely that's where he'd be.

But when I opened the door to his study room, he wasn't there.

I looked everywhere else but no sign of him.

I went out into the fresh air.

No sign of him either.

Where could he be?

I kept going further and further.

Searching here and there and then finally I got to my home.

Just as I was about to give up searching for him and go rest in my house, I saw him.

He was getting my sheep into their sheepfold.

I smiled and started running towards him, "Mr. Davis! Mr. Davis!"

He turned around to the sound of his name and made eye contact with me.

He grinned widely, "Edward, my son, you're back!"

I ran even faster and finally reached him.

I hugged him and looked back at him.

"What are you doing here?" I asked, out of breath.

"Sorry, I didn't realize you'd be back so soon, so I decided I'd go take care of your sheep and also check up on your house. Hope you don't mind." He said.

"Not at all. Now I have two things to thank you for." I smiled.

"Two things? What could they be?" I saw the bewildered look on his face.

"Thank you for looking after my sheep and checking up house," I say.

"Anytime, son." He pats my shoulder.

"And for helping me with everything I did today, for helping me get my ability out. Thank you so much." I smile.

He hugs me tightly and says, "No, thank you for making me realize I'm not stupid."

"I can't believe it worked! How did it go?"

"Well, you better believe it. If you could think of this whole concept of teleportion, how could you not think of it happening in reality? Also it went great, a little scary, but that's because it was my first time. I loved it!"

He laughs, "Son, you never fail to amaze me."

"And you never fail to be a good teacher."

And I hug him even tighter.

-

It had been 4 days since I had teleported for the first time ever.

It had been 4 days since my life started getting just a slightly more better.

And it had been 4 days since I had, in a long time, been genuinely content.

I was studying a file that Mr. Davis had lend me. A file that would help me to learn more about the depths of teleportion.

"Almost done reading the file?"

I look up and see, Mr. Davis entering the room, with a thick book in his hand.

"Not quite. This is harder to understand than I thought." I huff.

"I thought so. You don't have to understand it fully, just enough so that you'd know more about it. Any questions, feel free to ask me." He smiles.

I smile and nod at him.

"What's for today on our agenda?" I ask.

He places the thick book on this table and says, "Now, Edward, remember you made that promise to Alexander Graham Bell, to help him in finding out if he'd ever be successful in his project?

I nod, "Yeah."

"Well, that's exactly what we're going to work on today." He puts on his study glasses.

I close the file and place it on the side.

"Alright, how are we going to do this?" I ask.

He opens the book and flips the pages several times.

"Where is it?" He says to himself in a frustrated tone.

"Ah here. Alright, son. How we're going to do this is, you're going to teleport to Alexander Graham Bell's location, then from there you're going to travel one year into the future, if you see any changes, good, come back and inform me but if you don't, you still need to come back and travel a few more years ahead in time till you finally find out when he becomes successful, alright? I know it's a little confusing and complicated but I'm here to help you." He smiles.

-

Massachusetts, constituent state of The United States of America.

That is where I was. That is where I was currently standing, again.

I walked further down the streets, looking for Arthur.

He was helping me again. Mr. Davis had asked him to.

He was a generous guy. Very helpful.

I found him and he led me into the woods again.

We stopped at a place quite far from Alexander's house.

It was so quiet, I could hear nothing but the birds singing their merry little tunes and flying in the sky with glee. The cool breeze in the atmosphere gently touched my skin, making me shiver.

I begin the process to travel one year into the future.

"You're soon going to make a difference for all of us." Arthur spoke loudly, making me loose all focus.

I looked around and gave him a sad laugh, "No, Arthur, my mate, you're wrong. How can an ordinary man like me ever make a difference?"

"True. But maybe this is what you're thinking right now but one day you'll see it all for yourself and you'll know what I mean. You're going to help all of us, poor people." He smiles.

I smile back at him and continue with my process.

I close my eyes and after a few moments, I feel a stinging feeling in my chest and I quickly open my eyes.

I breathe heavily and look around to notice something odd,

Where the heck was Arthur?

I got up and called for Arthur. Nothing.

There was a farm on my right and I saw a tractor moving.

That wasn't there before.

I ran up to the farm and called out for the man, "Excuse me, mate, mate!"

"He stops the tractor and gets off, "Can I help you with something?"

"Erm, yes, sorry could you tell me what day it is?"

He looked at me with a weird look and said, "it's 18th, March today."

"What year?"

"Erm, the year is 1877."

"A-Alright, thank you."

And that's when I realize something, I was one year in the future.
