Ivy's POV

'You girls be careful and Troy you better look after my babies,' Barbz said as she pulled me into a hug. 'Gosh, Barbz it's just for a weekend, we'll be back in no time,' I said as I hugged her back. She sighed, 'I know sweetie, I just worry about you alot,' she replied as she wiped a tear from her face. Aww, Barbz was being a big softy but I understand, this was the first time we were heading to the White Mountain's Sunrise Ski Resort by ourselves and she is having a serious case of separation anxiety.

I pulled out of the hug and kissed Barbz on the cheek. I handed Troy the last bag as I waved bye to Barbz, "Love you and tell Dad I said I love him and i'll see him when we return," I yelled out the window as we all piled into my GMC Acadia. It was a four hour trip and Troy decided he would drive the first two hours and Emerald volunteered to drive the remaining two. The seating arrangement went, Troy and Amy in the front, Blake, Emerald and I sat in the middle. While Ruby, Lacy, and Mercedes took the back seats.

Naturally Blake planned for Emerald and I to sit next to each other and surprisingly neither of us complained. Its been about three weeks since Thanksgiving and we all have been getting along great. Emerald and I didn't really interact with each other much but I constantly caught her starring at me and we did get together for coffee a week after our thanksgiving fiasco.

I was sitting at home in my art room working on a painting, when my phone went off.

Em💔: hey, I'm outside can we talk???

I stared at the message trying to decide what to reply before simply sending a one word reply.

MyIceQueen👑💞: Yeah

I ran to my room and quickly changed into some jeans and a sweater. I grabbed my coat and pulled on my boats. I ran downstairs and out the door. I slowed down and walked towards Emerald's car. She unlocked the door and I hopped in. 'Hi,' she said as she awkwardly looked at me. 'Hi,' I replied as we sat in silence. After about a minute or two of awkward silence Emerald spoke, "um, do you maybe want to join me for coffee so we can um, talk about us," she asked as she ran her hands through her hair. I nodded my head and replied, "sure" as she started the car and headed towards the Steam Room Coffee shop. I smiled as we pulled up to 'our' coffee shop.

Emerald and I use to frequent this coffee shop all the time when we first discovered we had feelings towards each other. It was about a thirty minute ride from our town but the coffee here was worth the drive. Emerald parked the car and hopped out. She jogged to my door and opened it for me. I smiled before replying, 'thanks. She nodded in reply as we both headed towards the coffee shop.

'Welcome to...oh my gosh, it's been a while, you guys want the usual table,' Tori said as she pulled Emerald and I into a hug. 'Sure,' I replied as we both followed her to the table in the back. We both sat down as Tori pulled out her notepad. 'So what can I get you lovely ladies,' she asked as she clicked her pen. 'I'll have a caramel mocha latte with a blueberry muffin,' I said as Emerald ordered a 'Ice coffee and a bagel with cream cheese.' Tori repeated our order and told us she'll be back soon.

'I see she still has that bubbly personality,' I said as I watched her interact with the other guest. Emerald smiled before saying, 'Yeah she's something eles.' I nodded as I played with the sugar packets that were dispersed around the table. 'Sooooo, what did you want to talk about,' I asked as I avoided eye contact with Em. She cleared her throat, 'Uh, I was wondering if we could maybe clear the bad air between us,' she said as I felt her eyes starring at me. I nodded my head, 'Yeah, but I just want you to know that nothing happened between Ruby and I. I actually didn't know you guys knew each other and now that I know you do, I'm actually embarrassed because I said some pretty embarrassing things about you and I... Oh my God, wait did she tell you anything,' I said as my eyes widened.

She smirked at me and I couldn't help the smile that spread across my face. 'What you smiling at,' she asked as she tilted her head to the side. I felt my cheeks heat up, 'nothing, it's just you haven't looked at me like that in a long time. I just missed it,' I said. "Your so weird, and to answer your previous question: No she didn't tell me anything but now that I know you two talked about me I definitely have to ask her about it" she said as she wiggled her eyebrows at me. I playfully glared at her and right as I was about to speak, Tori waltz over carrying a tray with our orders on it.

We both thanked her again and continued our conversation. 'No but seriously Ivy, I missed this. I missed us talking and laughing about stupid things. I missed hanging out with you, Blake and everybody else without their being any awkward tension between each other. Yeah, I know it's partially my fault because after homecoming I basically pushed you away but I'm really sorry about that. I was just hurt and I figured the best way to protect me was to push you away. So I did and I immediately regretted it." Emerald said as she locked eyes with me. "It's okay we both did things were not proud of but at least your happy with Lacy and if your happy then I'm happy," I said as I sipped my coffee. "Actually, Lacy and I decided we were better off as friends. Apparently I was still hung up on this blonde haired, brown eyed, girl," she said as she shrugged her shoulders. "Hmmm, that girl sounds like a keeper," I said as I locked eyes with her. "She sure is," was her reply.

We continued eating and talking about everything we missed out on during our 'separation'. "So, Blake and I are going to a skiing resort in a few weeks, I know it's last minute but I was wondering if you, Amy, Mercedes, Tory and even Lacy were interested in joining us," I asked. She was quite for a few seconds before she replied, "sure, I'll have to ask my Aunt but I would love to." I smiled, "great, will maybe we should get home and I'll text you the details later," I said as she payed for our food and we headed towards her car.

So here we are two weeks later on our way to White Mountain's Sunrise Ski Resort. We were already two hours into the ride and we were heading to a rest stop. "Alright if you have to use the restroom or want some snacks, now is the time to do it," Troy said as he pulled up to a gas station. We all piled out of the car and headed inside. "You and Emerald seem to be all cozy," Blake said as we washed our hands. "What are you talking about," I said as I splashed my face with some water. She gave me her bitch-please face before saying, "you were practically in her lap." I rolled my eyes because as usual she was clearly over exaggerating. I had fallen asleep during the ride and my head manged to find its way onto Emerald shoulder and somewhere during my nap Emerald must have moved her arm around me because when I woke up we were cuddling. Not really wanting to go back and forth with Blake I simply decided to ignore her and head to the candy aisle.

I grabbed a bottled Pepsi, a bag of chips and two bags of sour gummy worms and headed to the cashier line. 'Will that be all gorgeous,' the cashier asked as he winked at me. I externally rolled my eyes at his lame attempt of flirting and replied that will be all. 'Are your sure your not forgetting anything, you know like my phone number," he said. 'Nope not at all, I would just like to pay for my items please,' I said as I began to become impatient. 'I'm just saying, you and me we belong together like one, two, three,' he said as he smirked at me. 'Jesus, fucking Christ! I just want to pay for my items, so can you please just swipe my card,' I stated.

He smirked and shook his head No before saying, 'not until you answer one question.' I rolled my eyes in annoyance because all I wanted to do was buy my fucking gummy bears. "Sure what's your question Albert," I said reading his name badge. 'Are you Willy Wonka's daughter, cuz you look sweet and delicious,' he said with a big smile on his face.

I was about to give him a piece of my mind when I felt arms wrap around my waist from behind. "Babe, what's taking you so long," Emerald said as she placed a kiss on my cheek. I immediately felt my checks heat up as I relaxed into her embrace. 'Will, little old Albert here wouldn't let me pay,' I said as I glared at the man in front of me. "Do we have a problem here," Emerald said as she eyed the cashier. 'Nnnooo, not at all,' Albert studdered as he quickly swipped my card and handed me my items. "Thanks Alfred," Emerald said as she interlocked our hands and we walked towards the car.

'What the hell did you have to make your gummy worms,' Blake yelled as we finally reached the car. I was about to reply, when I realized Amy stole my seat. 'Of course Blake will make me sit up front with Emerald,' I thought as I hopped in me seat. Emerald climbed in the driver seat and handed me her phone. 'Can you play some music please,' she asked as she started the car. 'Sure, what's your password,' I asked as awkwardly looked at me. 'Uh, don't judge me but it's your birthday,' she said as she kept her eyes glued to the road. I chuckled at that before replying, 'that's actually really cute." I typed in my birthday and clicked on the tidal app.

Kehlani 'CRZY' immediately began to play. We were about thirty minutes into the ride when both my phone and Emerald phone chimed. I picked up my phone and noticed I had a notification from instagram.

I didn't even want to give Blake the satisfaction because she was actually right I have no idea when our hands interlocked. But trust me I'm definitely not complaining. 'What was it,' Emerald asked as she quickly glanced at me. I smiled and quickly showed her the picture. She simply squeezed my hand and continued to focus on the road.

Emerald's POV

Ivy showed me Blake's post on instagram and all I could do was smile and squeeze her hand. Ivy and I have been getting along after our conversation at the coffee shop a few weeks prior. It didn't take much for me to reach out to Ivy because I honestly missed her and I was tired of pretending that I didn't care about her, when she was the only thing running through my mind 24/7. It was like Ivy was my drug and no matter how hard I tried to kick the habit, I always ended up going back for more. Simply put I was addicted but I was gonna take things slow.

We were about thirty minutes away from our destination and we were currently jamming to various artist. It was Blake turn to pick a song. "Oh, I have the perfect song," she squealed as she quickly typed something into my phone. She handed it to Ivy. 'Seriously Blake,' Ivy said as she pressed play. I immediately groaned as the song began to play.

'I hopped off the plane at L.A.X.' was all I was able to hear before the entire car joined in. I shook my head as I watched Ruby, Lacy, Mercedes, Blake and even Troy was dancing and singing along to the chorus.

'Come on Emmy, you know you want to,' Ivy said in a cute baby voice. 'Nope, not really my cup of tea,' I replied as the second verse blasted through the speakers. Ivy scoffed, 'Pa-lease everybody and their mama loved this song,' she replied as she nudged me in the side. 'Woman are you tryna get us killed,' I jokingly replied as the chorus rolled around again. 'Pwetty pwease, just the chorus, you know you know the words,' Ivy said with the most adorable pout every on her face. 'Ugh, fine,' I replied before joining in.

The song ended and we continued to jam the rest of the way there. Nearly ten songs later and a amazing recreation of Say My Name by Ruby, Mercedes, and I we finally pulled up to the resort. 'Welcome to White Mountain's Sunrise Ski Resort, my names Edward may I assist you with your luggage,' the boy asked as he pushed his cart to the truck and help Troy retrieve the bags. We all waited in line as Blake retrieved the keys. 'So while you two were still in the station we all called dibs on roommates,' Blake said as she tossed me a key with the number 512 on it. Already knowing the answer I still decided to ask, 'whose rooming with me?' A huge smirk appeared on Blake's face before she replied, 'Ivy, duh!'

Ivy smiled at me as we followed Edward to the elevator. We reached the fifth floor and Amy and Tory entered room 509, Lacy and Ruby entered room 510, Mercedes and Blake were next to us in room 511 and Ivy and I finally reached room 512. I unlocked the door and tip Edward as he placed our bags down and left. It was about 5:30 and we figured we all would unpack and relax for a couple hours before we go to dinner at 8. "So we have about three hours to kill, what do you wanna do," I asked Ivy as she turned on the TV. 'How about we relax and watch a movie," she replied as she hopped on the bed. I sat on her bed as she clicked on legally blonde. Somewhere during the movie Ivy wrapped her arms around my waist and rested her head on my chest. I wrapped my arms around her and smiled as we both enjoyed the feeling of being in each other arms again.
