Naraya sat beside Anna who placed her head on the latter's lap.

"Naraya I am really sorry I had to drag you into my problems." Anna hiccuped, showing signs of someone who had cried herself to satisfaction.

"Who else would listen to them, like duh?" Naraya chuckled softly, joking with her to lighten up Anna's mood.

Anna smiled. "Thank God you're here. If it were Aunt Syla, I'll probably get an I told you so." They both laughed.

After a minute of silent, Naraya cleared her throat. "Now you know that Scott is determined to get Isla, it only means that he is interested in knowing her."

"No, I think he is trying to hurt me." Anna sniffed sadly. "I thought coming back here was going to be easy, I thought we wouldn't cross path again. Now my daughter hates me, I'm sure she also thinks I am selfish." Anna sniffled. "I thought I was enough for her to forget about her father, I guess I was wrong."

"It's also my fault. I told you to face him, I am sorry." Naraya stroked Anna's hair.

"It's not your fault. Sooner or later, Scott and I were going to have to face each other." Anna sighed deeply.

"It's a good thing Dee is on your side. I can't believe he's brothers with the father of your kid." Naraya told her. "Can I ask something?"

"Sure." Anna said as she sat up, turning to Naraya.

"Is it because of Scott you can't give your heart to Daniel?" Naraya said, staring at Anna.

Anna licked her lips as she tucked her hair behind her ears before meeting Naraya's eyes. "Why do you ask?"

"Dee is in love with you, I know you know it but you're just pretending not to see it." Naraya raised a brow.

Anna lowered her eyes. "I don't want to hurt him. He's been so good to me, especially to Isla."

Naraya nodded then sighed. "Don't worry, Isla will come around. She's just having one of her tantrums, don't get yourself worked up." She said, placing a hand on Anna's shoulder.

     "I know." Anna smiled weakly.

"When are you leaving?" Naraya asked her.

"Tomorrow. I don't want to prolong my stay here." Anna sniffled, wiping her moist face with a hand.

"Damn." Naraya immediately pulled her into a hug, "I feel like kicking Scott's arse, I suddenly don't have that crush on him anymore. Such a douche bag, not to mention he is a shameless womanizing idiot. He recently broke up with his fiancée, did you know that?" Naraya frowned, instantly disliking Scott.

Oh. One detail she had skipped. "He just doesn't know when to stop hurting women. He is a fool." Anna shook her head.

"A big one." Naraya agreed firmly.

The sun had just come up, Scott dressed in his usual business suit. He was staring at his reflection as buttoned his jacket.

Scott picked up his phone, placing it over his ear. "Is everything ready? Okay good, I'll meet you." He concluded before hanging up.

He was going to get his daughter.
🕸🕸🕸🕸

"Are you ready?" Anna smiled at her daughter who mumbled a yes. Isla was clearly not happy. "Okay." She bent over, kissing Isla on the head. "Come on." Anna took her hand, heading for the car.

"Good morning ma'am." The chauffeur opened the door to the backseat for them.

"Good morning. Thank you." She assisted her daughter in getting in. "Careful." She held Isla, before joining her. The chauffeur immediately slammed the door shut. Anna sighed, turning to Isla who hugged a teddy bear close to her chest. "Sweetie, do you need anything?" Anna asked sweetly, brushing her fingers past Isla's cheek.

"No, I'm fine." Isla turned away, looking at the window. "

"We'll be fine, I promise." Anna tried to smile.

Isla ignored her, leaning back against the seat, still facing away.

"Baby... You can't be angry with me forever." Anna said but Isla kept on looking away. Anna sighed deeply. "Okay." She shrugged, taking up her phone. "Dee wants to talk to you."

    Isla hesitated at first.

"Maybe later?" Anna eyed her daughter.

Isla turned not glancing at Anna but taking the phone from her. "Dee?" She whispered as she placed the phone over her ear.

"Baby girl what's wrong?" Daniel's voice came through.

"Nothing." Isla replied dryly. "Are you going to join us?"

"Sorry baby girl, I have a lot of work on my hands right now but I promise to follow soon as I can, alright?"

    Isla sighed. "Okay."

"Give mommy a kiss for me okay?"

  Isla hmmed...

"I love you... Hand over the phone to your mom."

"Here." Isla handed it back over to Anna and resumed sulking.

Anna heard the trunk slam shut, which meant that their luggage were already loaded into it.

"Daniel." Anna held the phone over her ear.

    "Is she still sulking?"

Anna glanced at Isla who was humming to a nursery rhyme. "I guess so."

"That's quite sad. Anna, call me when you get to the airport, okay?"

"Will do. Thank you for everything." Anna thanked him just before the chauffeur started driving off.

He chuckled lightly. "What are you thanking me for? I haven't done anything."

"No seriously, I mean it. You helping me is really a huge debt of gratitude. How could I repay back?" Anna said to him.

   "Well... You owe me lunch..."

Anna chuckled... "How about we make it a lunch date?"

There was a short pause for a while. "I would love to have a lunch date with you."

She grinned happily. "It's settled then! So hurry and get over to Singapore, I owe you a date." Anna said to him jokingly.

The duo talked for a while before they finally hung up.

After a while, the car suddenly jerked, hitting the brakes abruptly, causing Anna and Isla to jolt.

Anna immediately held Isla, pulling her closer before turning to the chauffeur.  "Wha-what was that?" Her heart lurched in fear.

"I'm sorry ma'am." Was all the chauffeur could say.

Anna looked ahead, she saw cars, circling around them.

"What's going on?" Anna looked around, she was bewildered.

About four SUVs circled around their Anna's car.

"What's going on?" Anna asked the chauffeur again but he only turned off the engine.

Soon the cars stopped. Besuited men came out from each cars, two each, making them ten.

"Mommy?" Isla cuddled up to Anna. "What is happening?"

"I'm sure it's nothing." She tried to reassure her daughter but she was confused.

The chauffeur was quiet, it was freaking Anna out.

Just as she fumbled with her phone, her eyes froze. She saw someone getting down from one of the cars, walking towards them.

"It can't be..." Anna gasped, wrapping an arm around Isla. It was Scott, walking towards her car. "Ba-baby, stay here, mommy will be right back." Anna didn't want him to reach the car.

"No. I'm scared." Isla held on to Anna.

Anna looked at her daughter, caressing her face. "Don't be scared. No one is going to hurt you okay?" As Isla nodded, Anna kissed her forehead. "Mommy is just going to be outside, talking."

"He's waiting for you." The chauffeur finally talked. "You're safe, he only wants to talk." The chauffeur told her calmly.

Anna looked ahead. Scott stood at a close distance, as if knowing she would come out. She pulled away from Isla, took a deep breath, opened the door and got out of the car.

Scott wanted an entrance. He wanted her attention. He stood, dressed in his Armani two piece suit, looking impeccably gorgeous, waiting for her to come out. As soon as Anna started walking towards him, he knew she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. The wind caressed her hair as it flew, dancing to its rhythm. Her black unbuttoned overcoat gave a hint of the satin gold short dress she wore, her fierce hazel eyes were blazing maybe due to the sunlight, she walked perfectly on the pumps she had on, her face was radiant with a small touch of makeup, her lips were rosy and naturally seductive that he almost forgot the reason why he was there.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" Anna snapped him out of his daze

Scott found her pout too flirtatious for his liking so he frowned. Everything about her was just hard to resist. "Anna." He called her name.

"What is this about?" Anna decided to act tough as she placed her hands on her waist.

He narrowed his eyes at her, "We can either talk or we do it the hard way."

"Mr Ontario, I want you to move your entourage. You're scaring my daughter." Anna frowned at him.

"Why do you always try to make everything difficult? For the last time Anna, we talk or we do this the hard way." Scott raised his brow.

"Fine, we'll just run you over then." Anna turned to leave but Scott grabbed her wrist making her turn back to him.

"So stubborn." He left her hand. "I wanted an easy and peaceful agreement, but you leave me no choice." Scott snapped his fingers and some besuited men, walked towards them.

Scott stepped away. Before Anna knew what was going on, the men held her arms.

"Wait, what are you doing?" Anna frowned, as she tried to get away from their grip. "No, stop! Let me go!! Let me go!!" Anna yelled in horror. "What are you doing?!"

"Don't hurt her." Scott told the men who held Anna in one place. "Sweetheart, I am sorry it had to be like this, but you caused it." He said before walking towards her car.

"Mr Ontario! Mr Ontario!!" Anna shouted. "Let go of me!" Anna struggled to pull away from their strong grip. "Mr Ontario!! Don't you dare go near my daughter!! Mr... Mr Ontario!!" Anna screamed his name louder.

     Scott opened the backseat door.

"You're hurting my mommy." Isla was already crying. "Please don't hurt her."

Scott's heart melted immediately. He just could not bear to see her in tears. He turned to Anna. "Let her go!" Scott ordered at once and immediately Anna came running to Isla.

"How could you do this to me?!" Anna started hitting him furiously. "You bastard!" Anna slapped him with all her might yet, he didn't flinch. "Isla." Anna hoisted her, wrapping her arms around Isla.

Scott glanced at Isla who had stopped crying as soon as Anna carried her. "Give her to me." Scott said to Anna.

"Get away from us." Anna glared, stepping back. "I think you've done enough."

"I-I-I didn't mean to." Scott felt so bad. His plan was going worse by the second.

"I don't care!" Anna snapped at him.

"Isabelle, your father is sorry. He only wanted to see you." Scott shook his head sadly.

"Oh please." Anna scoffed as she stroked Isla's long hair. Suddenly, Isla lifted her head, turning to Scott.

"Scott..." Isla stared at him as if curious.

"Pretty girl." Scott smiled weakly, he looked at Anna. "I can't let you both leave. Isabelle is my daughter and I want to be in her life." Scott told her plainly.

Anna continued to glare at him. She suddenly remembered her fight with Isla, it made her calm down. "You want to talk, you'll have your talk." She eyed him.

Scott sighed for relief. "Good." He nodded slowly.
🕸🕸🕸🕸

Anna sat beside Scott in the backseat of his car as the were being driven off to his pad.

"Is she asleep?" Scott glanced at Isla, who leaned against Anna.

"She is." She pulled Isla closer, wrapping a protective arm around her.

"This is all your fault, you're so hardheaded." Scott blamed her.

She sharply turned to Scott. "My fault? So you're blaming me now? You know, if you had just stayed away like I told you to, Isla won't be like this." Anna felt like slapping him again.

"First you lie she's not mine, now you were planning to run away? Okay fine, you say you don't hate me but it's clear that you do—"

"Oh I hate now, I hate you to my core." Anna glared at him.

He rolled his eyes. "Let me finish. If you want to go away, that's fine, if you want to leave, go. But you can't leave with Isabelle. I can't let you."

Anna scoffed sarcastically. "You're not ready to become a father. You're unfit to be her father."

He clicked his tongue. "For your information, I have filed for custody and there's nothing you can do about it."

"You won't get her." Anna hugged Isla's sleeping body. Her fears had only begun.

"I am an Ontario, I always get what I want." Scott smirked, turning away.

"Not this time." Anna sighed. "I am going to fight for her, I don't care if you drag me to the supreme court."

Scott smiled genuinely. An idea popped into his head. "I have a proposal."

Anna scoffed at his tone. "And what would that be?"

"I will drop the suit, you get to have Isabelle like you want, I won't stop you. Although, I will be recognized as her father."

She frowned at him. "What's the catch?"

He chuckled softly, staring into her eyes intently. "Marry me."

Anna gaped, batting at lashes at him. "What?"

"If you just say yes, I'll arrange for us to get married immediately." Scott smirked at her.

"Aren't you just crazy." Anna laughed at his guts. "I'd rather marry the devil than you sonofabitch."

"Guess what sweetheart, I am the devil." Scott winked at her before turning away. He exhaled. "You're such a drama queen, you know." He chuckled, running his hand down his hair. "Good thing you're my baby mama, I would have died if it were anyone else."

Anna gasped. "Baby mama? I am not your baby mama you idiot!" Anna had to control herself as she didn't want to wake Isla up.

He shrugged nonchalantly. "We could always change that. Anna Ontario..." Scott laughed. "Wow, it suits you better." He kept on joking.

Anna looked away, trying not to get upset. "You're lucky Isla's here." She said under her breath.

Scott laughed at her. "Like I said, drama queen." He looked at Isla who was sleeping peacefully. "She's really pretty, like her father."

Anna glanced at him briefly. "She isn't anything like you."

Scott chuckled, reaching for Isla's hair. "Why didn't you tell me?" Scott whispered, stroking Isla's hair. "Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?" He asked Anna.

"Isn't it obvious?" Anna answered coldly. "I don't want to talk about the past anymore, thinking about it will only get me angrier."

He sighed, suddenly sad. "I blame myself."

"Forget it. I don't want to talk about it." Anna told him.

"May... May I hold her..." Scott requested making Anna frown at him. "Please."

Anna hesitated for some seconds. "She'll wake up."

"Even if she does, I'll put her back to sleep." Scott promised her.

Anna gently lifted Isla, transferring her into Scott arms. "Here." She said, unconsciously leaning closer to him.

"Look at how you're treating her like a baby." Scott smiled, adjusting Isla in his arms.

"Of course she is," She lifted her head the same time Scott did. "A ba—" her lips crashed into his. She froze, keeping her eyes widely opened.

They were both taken by surprise. Just as Anna was about to pull away, Scott captured her lower lip but before he could properly kiss her, Anna pushed him away.

"You must be out of your perverted mind!!" Anna yelped, wiping her lips with her hand. She glared at him.

Scott's face heated up, turning pink. He blushed. "Cute."

"Next time you pull that stunt, I'll rip out your throat." Anna threatened, staring daggers at him.

He regained his composure when he sensed that Anna didn't notice his reaction to the kiss. Holy smokers!! He blushed!! He blushed because he kissed her, what the fuck?! How did Anna bring out the reaction out of him.

"Stop staring at me like that." Anna eyed him with disgust. "I can't believe it!" Anna huffed. What was wrong with the good-for-nothing! How dare he claim her lips just like that! Anna groaned aloud. It was a humiliation.

Scott smiled at her. "What's with you? It was an acc—"

"Just stop talking." Anna rushed her words, holding her hand out to stop him from talking.
