"I'll get it!" Naraya said, going into the living room. She opened the entrance door. "You're here." Naraya opened the door for Daniel to enter.

"Hey, how are you?" He gave Naraya friendly hug.

"I'm fine. Are those for me?" Naraya smirked at him when she saw the bouquet of red roses in his hand and two paper bags

    Daniel flushed pink immediately.

"Ha! I was only kidding." She laughed, "I know they are for Anna." She wiggled her brows teasingly.

Isla ran into the living room, jumping on Daniel who instantly caught her. "Deeeeeeeee!!" She squealed happily, hugging his neck.

"Hey." Daniel kissed her cheek. "How are you?" He smiled at her.

"I'm fine. I am excited! Mommy said you'd be babysitting." She grinned at him. "Whoa, I love the flowers, are they for me?" Isla batted her lashes at him.

"Yup!" He said with a smile.

Isla laughed out, throwing her head back. "They are for mommy!!" She leaned over to his ear. "Mommy is looking really pretty tonight." She whispered to him.

   Daniel chuckled. "She is?"

"Yes, she says I can't come along until I am an adult." She leaned away from his ear. "I really wish I can be an adult soon." She said dreamily.

He laughed heartily. "Very soon." He said, dropping her on her feet. "Here you go." He gave her the paper bags. "These are for you," he pulled out a rose. "This too."

Isla's eyes widened. "It's beautiful." She said, collecting the rose. "Thank you Dee." She smiled up at him. "Come on, let's give the flowers to mommy." She pulled Daniel by the hand, leading him into the corridor.

Anna heard the door open. "Peaches did you see my..." She turned towards the door, only to see Daniel by the door way staring at her. "Oh." She blinked at him.

"I-I I'm sorry, I shouldn't have..." Daniel lost his voice as he stared intently at her, boldly raking his eyes down her body.

"Come in." Isla pulled him in. "Mommy, Dee got you flowers." She announced before leaving the room.

"Wow, you... You look... Stunning." He said, walking up to her with the flowers in his hands. "T-These are for you." He said, stretching out his hands.

Anna received the flowers with a huge smile. "They are lovely." She inhaled the scent.

Daniel lost words to speak as he stared at her beautiful face which had a little makeup on it. Her lips were done with a slightly pink lipstick, she had blushed her cheekbones. Anna was dressed in a strappy open back black bodycon mini dress and a pair of nude square toe lace up pyramid heels.

"What?" Her face heated up, "You staring is making me uneasy." Anna said, hugging her arms.

"I have to stare, you're too beautiful." Daniel grinned at her. "How come I wasn't invited?"

Anna smiled, "Naraya made me dress up. I can't even believe I am doing this." She shook her head. "Normally, there are so many things going on in my head and going out shouldn't even be on the list!" She threw her hands up.

"I like you dressing up. You should dress up more often." His hand cupped her face. "I can stare at you all day."

She blushed, "I can't thank you enough Daniel, you being here means a lot to me. Thank you."

"Don't thank me." Daniel shook his head, brushing his knuckles against her cheek. They both locked eyes for some seconds, just staring into each others eyes. "Anna..." He went closer to her. "There is something you need to know."

Anna wanted him to stop talking because she knew where he was heading.

    "Daniel I—"

"Please, listen." Daniel whispered softly, leaning closer to her. "Anna..."

Anna could hear her heart pounding so fast. Why couldn't she just pull away?! She could see how nervous he was.

Daniel closed in, "I... I... I..." He lips inched closer to hers as his eyes sensually trailed her lips. "I love—"

The moment was broken when Isla entered unannounced.

"Mommy I can't find my doll!" Isla yelled, standing by the doorway.

Daniel immediately pulled away. While Anna thanked her daughter in her heart for the interruption.

"Which one?" Anna asked, walking up to Isla. She acted like nothing was about to happen.

"The one Dee got for me recently." Isla pouted her lower lip, looking upset.

"Where did you put it sweetie?" Anna asked her.

"I don't remember." The little girl scrunched up her nose.

"I'll help you look for it." Dee suggested, walking towards Anna and Isla.

     "Okay." Isla entered the room.

"I'll search the closet, why don't you and Dee search the living room." Anna glanced at her daughter.

Isla nodded as she is led out of the room by Dee.

Anna took in a deep breath. Good grief! If Isla hadn't shown up, Daniel would have kissed her. She would have had to kiss him back because she didn't want him to feel bad or rejected. She hoped this would be the last time she would be put in that kind of situation with Daniel.

After some minutes Naraya had found the doll, she and Anna prepared to go out. Naraya wore an open neck cut out front halter neck gold bodycon mini dress.

"Go to bed early okay?" Anna squatted, down to Isla's level. "Don't give Dee a hard time." She kissed her daughter's forehead before standing. "I really appreciate this." She gave Daniel a friendly hug.

"Have fun." He said to her. And stay safe. He wanted to add but he didn't want to pass off as some protective guy.

"I will." Anna smiled at him.

"Take care." Isla waved at her mom.

"Alright! Let's goooo!" Naraya blew a kiss at Isla.

Isla watched her mom and Naraya leave the house. As soon as the door slammed shut, she turned to Daniel. "I have plenty of ideas of what to do now that mommy is gone." She smirked at Daniel.

He smiled, folding his arms over his chest. "Let's hear it."
🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀🍀

"There he is." Naraya beamed with a smile on her face as she walked up to her boyfriend— Chad Winchester. She gave him a kiss on the lips.

"How are you gorgeous?" His arms wrapped around her waist. "You look hot." He smirked at her.

Naray chuckled, sliding his hands down to grip her butt.

Anna cleared her throat just in case Naraya had forgotten about her existence.

"Oh!" Naraya laughed before turning to Anna, pressing her body against Chad. "Chad this is my cousin Anna, Anna meet Chad my cute boyfriend." Naraya said, grinning happily as Chad pressed a kiss on her forehead.

"Hi." Anna gave a friendly smile.

"Sweetie when you said she was gorgeous, you didn't tell me she's this gorgeous." Chad smiled at Anna. "It's nice to meet you Anna."

"So where is your friend?" Naraya turned around, wrapping her arms around his neck.

"I brought my cousin along. The dude couldn't wait to go in, he went ahead." Chad answered him.

Anna watched her cousin and her new boyfriend exchange conversations, she already started to feel like the third wheel. What if this was a bad idea? She thought.

"Come on girlie!!" Naraya pulled Anna along into club.

They had reserved a space in the VIP Section. From where they sat, they could see everything happening downstairs, from the bar to the crowd dancing wildly to the blaring music.

"So Anna, how are you finding DC?" Chad asked Anna who was sitting across the table.

"It's not that bad." Anna nodded, taking up a glass of champagne before sipping slowly. "Have you been in DC all your life?" She asked him, watching him take a sip from his whisky.

     "Yup!" Chad nodded at her.

"Anna makes the best pastries! She's a pastry chef." Naraya said to him. "She owns a pastry restaurant, the one I work in."

"Really? AnStin bakery? Wow, that's nice. My mom loves your cheesecakes and apple pie, she's obsessed with them." Chad revealed to her.

"How come you never told me?" Naraya smiled.

"Must have skipped my mind." Chad leaned over, placing a gentle kiss on her lips.

Anna studied the lovebirds as they displayed affection towards each other, her lips lingered on the rim of her flute. "You both look like you're really into each other." She couldn't help but say. Chad and Naraya turned to her.

"Of course! We only just met but our chemistry is undeniable." Chad grinned, placing his arm over Naraya.

"Aww, that's cute." Anna looked happy for them. "You better not break my sister's heart, or else, I'll hit you where it hurts hard." Anna threatened with a smile on her face.

Naraya giggled, turning to Chad, "she knows karate."

Chad put his hands up in surrender. "Yes ma'am."

    Anna smiled at him.

"I wonder where your friend is?" Naraya asked Chad.

"He is around, trust me." Chad chuckled, pouring another shot into his glass.

"I hope you didn't bring one of your Casanovas here, because I plan on matchmaking him with my single beautiful cousin. She deserves better than some bunch of idiots." Naraya raised a brow at her boyfriend.

Chad chuckled nervously, taking a light sip from his glass before speaking. "She'll like him."

Soon, the two lovers talked away, leaving Anna out of their conversation. Anna's eyes roamed around the place, just as she looked ahead, she saw someone familiar approaching.

You've got to be kidding me. Anna's mouth turned 'O' and her eyes widened, she wasn't expecting to find him here, and then he was approaching her table.

Scott, just like Anna, was beyond stunned to see her. He maintained eye contact with her, even when he got to the front of the table.

"Anna..." Scott batted his lashes, making sure he wasn't seeing a ghost in front of him or maybe her doppelganger perhaps. But no, it was her!

"Oh here he is!" Chad turned to Scott who had his eyes glued to Anna.

Naraya's smile died on seeing Scott. "Oh shit." She said dryly.

"Anna? What are you... what are you doing here?" Scott raised a surprised brow, he was confused at the same time amused.

"Huh?" Chad furrowed, glancing at Scott.

"Should that be the question?" Anna scoffed sarcastically. "Are you stalking me again Mr Ontario?"

Scott smirked at her, placing his hands into pants pockets. "This entire universe is too small for us, we just have to keep bumping into each other."

"What's going on?" Chad was confused as he looked back and forth at Anna and Scott.

"They know each other." Naraya said to him.

"They do?" Chad looked at Naraya before turning to Scott again.

"Chad, meet my Anna. Lovely isn't she?" Scott said to his cousin, still not breaking the eye contact with Anna.

"Oh my God, is he... Is he the cousin you were talking about?" Naraya's eyes nearly popped out of its sockets.

"What?! Whoa whoa whoa," Chad closed his eyes, shaking his head to grasp what was happening. He looked at Anna. "You're... You're... You're Anna?" He was still confused.

Anna finally looked away, turning to Chad. "And he is your cousin?" She frowned at him.

"The hell. If I knew it was going to be him, I wouldn't have brought Anna along." Naraya facepalmed herself.

"So..." Scott faced Naraya. "You're his infamous girlfriend. That's nice. It's really nice to see you again." Scott smiled at her before shifting his attention back to Anna. That's when he noticed. He noticed how alluring and devastatingly hot she looked, his eyes roamed down her body, eyeing every inch of her. God! How could one girl possess this kind of beauty and attraction? Scott sighed, knowing she was off limits.

"Stop ogling at her." Naraya snapped at Scott.

"I wasn't doing that." Scott glanced at Naraya. "I am joining you." He said, taking his place beside Anna. He could perceive her sweet smelling perfume, oozing all around her. It made him want to lean over to inhale her neck.

"Where have you been man?" Chad started, trying to make the situation less awkward.

Scott was not about to tell him about the fun he was having with a few women because Anna was right beside him. Like hell! Why should he care that she was beside him?! "I was attending to something... Business related." Scott shrugged, reaching out for a flute and his hand met Anna's hand as she too had reached out for it.

Instead of pulling away, Anna grabbed the flute. "This is mine." She told him.

Scott removed his hand, then he smirked. "You look lovely." He said to her but Anna paid no attention to him as she drank from the flute.

Naraya and Chad were back to talking to themselves while Anna felt uncomfortable that Scott was sitting beside her.

Scott leaned over to her ear. "You shouldn't be wearing this out." He whispered into her ear softly.

Her heart skipped two beats with the sudden unexpected move from Scott and so she elbowed him in the stomach.

"Ow!" Scott's hand flew to his stomach immediately as he winced, due to the impact of the hit. "I think you damaged my kidney." He frowned, gripping his painful stomach.

"I really hope I did." Anna said curtly without any sympathy.

"So that I wouldn't get the chance to say I Love You to my daughter? That's not fair." Scott said, only for her ears.

Anna placed the glass of champagne on the table in annoyance. "Don't you dare say the word love because you don't love anyone but yourself."

Scott leaned away, chuckling softly. "Self love first." He told her.

"Mr Ontario—" Anna was cut off.

"Sweetie the next time you call me Mr Ontario, I swear to God, I'll fucking kiss you." Scott raised a brow at her.

Anna turned to him, glaring slightly. "You just try and I'll make sure I damage more than your kidney. I'll destroy there." She deadpanned, pointing to his crotch area without looking down.

Scott found it amusing once again that he smiled at her. "I'd love that. Dream come true... Your hands on it, gliding slowly and—" the next thing he felt was the hard smack on his face, shutting him up instantly.

"Did that help regain your senses? Or do you need more?" Anna was staring daggers at him.

Chad and Naraya had abruptly cut their conversation when they heard the loud smack. They both looked at their cousins respectively.

"Is everything okay or do we need to call the cops?" Naraya asked, frowning slightly at the two ex besties.

Scott had not expected the slap, he was bewildered that he thought he could hear his ear ring. It was going to take a while before he'd recover from the shock.

Anna stood up immediately, grabbing her bag. "I-I-I'm sorry, I can't stay here anymore. I need to get away for a while, I'll be at the bar." She said, looking down at the table.

Naraya frowned at her.  "Anna are you sure you're —"

"I'm fine Naraya. I just can't stand this man." She looked at Chad. "Please, do enjoy the rest of the night." She said before hurrying away.

"What did you do this time Scott?" Chad frowned in disapproval.

Scott looked up at them, Naraya gasped instantly.

Anna had left her handprint on his cheek.
🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳🌳

Anna sat at the bar with her arms resting on the countertop, beside her were untouched shots of hot vodka. After the slap, her hand felt painful and red. She knew the slap might have imprinted on his cheek due to the full force caused by her adrenaline rush. On one hand, she was happy that she did smack his face, maybe it would set his brain straight. Scott needed to be taught how to talk to a lady properly!

"Are you from a movie called Overboard?" Anna heard someone asked, she turned to her side and found a man looking at her. "I could have sworn I have seen you before." The man said to her.

"Huh?" Anna gave him a weird confused look.

The long blonde blue eyed guy laughed richly at her facial expression. "I got you." He said to her.

    She blinked at him. "Oh."

"Why?" He asked, with a warm smile.

"Why what?" Anna gave another confused look at him.

"You look like you have something troubling your mind, so I am wondering why a lady with such a confident intimidating look would be troubled." He said to her.

    Anna blushed at the statement.

"Boy issues?" He asked her, seeming concerned.

"Nothing like that." Anna shook her head.

"Did you come along with someone or you came alone?" The handsome looking blonde asked her.

"I'm not alone but I needed a little space to myself." Anna told him, removing her hair from her face.

The blonde guy moved to the seat beside Anna. "I am guessing these are for you." He pointed to the untouched shots on the countertop.

"Yup! I thought I would be able to drink all of it." Anna shrugged.

"But you haven't even touched it yet." He said to her.

"You wanna help me?" Anna smiled back at him, propping her elbow on the countertop and resting her head on her hand.

"Sure, why not!" He seemed eager to help her.

The guy turned to the bartender and ordered more shots.

"So cheers." He raised a glass at her.

Anna picked up her own glass, clinking it with his. "Cheers." She then gulped it down in one second. She felt it burn down her throat and her hand flew to her mouth. "I don't drink."

The guy chuckled as he saw her eyes water due to the vodka. "There's always a first time. Another shot?" He raised another glass.

   Anna picked up another one.

"I'm Gail." He smirked at her.

"Anna." She smirked back. "Cheers." She said, clinking the glass again before swallowing at the same time with the new friend she had just met.
