"Anna." As soon as Scott was about to take a step to meet her, the doors burst open. And there came Amanda.

"Oh Baby! Thank God you're still here." Amanda said in her usual pitched voice. "I see you got my bag." Amanda smiled, not taking note of the stare between Scott and Anna. "You're such a sweetheart!" She Immediately clung to his arm like a monkey, turning to see Anna in front of her. "Oh it's you." She gave a small smile.

Anna instantly broke eye contact, looking away. "Hi." She greeted nervously, looking at Amanda.

"I was just about to call you." Amanda told her. "You're late."

"Yeah." Her voice sounded weird, she cleared her throat. "Yeah, sorry about that." Now she sounded confident.

"Oh wait! This is my fiancée... Scott." Amanda said proudly, giving Scott a kiss on his cheek. "You should know him." Amanda smirked, turning to Anna.

Anna licked her lips, tucking in her hair behind her ear. "Hmmm." She said, not necessarily meaning yes or no. She was beginning to feel a little self conscious.

"Why don't we go in and discuss about the cake?" Amanda told her cheerfully, collecting her bag from Scott who seemed lost in a daze.

"Su-sure." Anna proceeded to go in first as the doorman opened the door for them to enter.

Anna kept swallowing, trying to calm herself down.

"Baby, I already ordered. Do you wanna order the same as me?" Amanda asked sweetly. When Scott didn't respond, she took his silence as a yes. "Well don't worry, I'll order what I am having." She said leading him to her seat.

"Why don't you both settle down, I'll have the cakes out in no time." Anna said, focusing her gaze on Amanda even those she noticed Scott's piercing gaze.

Scott watched Anna leave. His brain was yet to wrap what was happening, he needed a minute or two to figure out if everything was real and not a dream.

Anna briskly walked away, going to her office. Jackie caught up with her.

"Anna!" Jackie called out behind Anna.

Anna whipped her head back, turning to Jackie. Before Jackie could say a word, Anna spoke first. "I need you to do something for me. You see those two people who walked in here when I did," Anna said to her.

    "Yeah?" Jackie raised a brow.

"Handle them. If they ask why, tell them something. Make up an excuse, okay?"

"Err.. Is everything okay... Anna?" Jackie frowned at her. She also noticed Anna was sweating, which was weird because the AC was on full blast.

"I'm fine. I just don't want to take up their order." Anna said, exhaling.

Jackie nodded. "Okay. Was it Amanda who walked in?" She asked.

"Yeah." Anna nodded. "You know what to do." She said before walking away.

Jackie watched her leave for her office before going out to face Amanda.

Amanda had already gotten what she ordered and had started eating. "Oh there you are." Amanda wiped her mouth with a napkin. "Where is Anna?"

"About that.... I'm really sorry. Anna won't be able to join you today, she isn't feeling well." Jackie said to Amanda.

"What?" Amanda frowned. "Why would she agree to having an appointment when she isn't feeling okay? But she seemed fine earlier." She raised a brow.

"You don't have to worry, I'll make up for it." She smiled. "The testers are ready, I'll bring them for you right away." She gave an optimistic smile.

Amanda nodded... "Please do that, I don't have all day."

   Jackie nodded before leaving.

She turned to Scott. "Baby you don't want to eat? Don't you like it?" Amanda inquired as she noticed Scott hadn't touched his food at all.

Scott slightly frowned at her. All the while, he was never aware of Amanda's presence until now.

"Is everything okay? You seem lost." Amanda raised a brow at him.

Scott stood up, without a word, he walked towards the kitchen.

"Sc-Scott, where are you going?" Amanda asked but is ignored. She figured that he might want to use the restroom so she let him go.

Scott opened the door that read for staff only, do not enter.

"Sorry, you can't be in here." A guy stopped him before he could enter.

"Where's Anna? I wanna speak to Anna." Scott searched for her with his eyes.

    "O. M. G. It's Scott!!!" There was a squeal from the kitchen.

Probably one of the workers had recognized him. Then more girlie screams followed.

"Holy carp— Scott? As in Scott... Scott Ontario?" The guy who had stopped him widened his eyes. "Jesus!"

The last thing Scott wanted was attention. "Anna? Has anyone seen Anna?" He asked repeatedly but no one around paid attention to his question, they were all too surprised and dumbfounded.

"Sir?" Jackie finally entered the kitchen after noticing Scott's presence. "You're not allowed in here."

A girl elbowed Jackie and whispered but Scott heard anyway. "That's Scott Ontario you're talking to. The Scott Ontario?"

Jackie frowned at him for some seconds before it really dawned on her. Scott Ontario?! Scott Ontario!!! Jackie wanted to scream but she held herself. Scott Ontario was in their kitchen.... Holy shit!

Scott sighed at the five people looking at him. "Can someone, anyone, point to where Anna is?" He looked at them one after the other.

"I can take you to her." Jackie said sheepishly.

His face finally lit up with hope. "O-okay!"

"But first, I have to inform her you want to see her." Jackie told him.

   He frowned but nodded anyways.

"D-do you want anything to eat or drink?" Jackie blushed furiously.

Scott cleared his throat. "No it's fine."

"Do you mind waiting outside?" Jackie gave a small smile.

   Scott nodded, leaving the kitchen.

The girls in their midst literally squealed out, holding their cheeks.

Anna couldn't think straight anymore. She had thought the universe was on her side when she hadn't seen him since two months of her stay, guess she was wrong. Now everything was clear, she knew the engagement ring looked familiar but didn't know where she had seen it. Not on Amanda but years ago when she and Scott were younger. Scott had secretly taken it out of his father's safebox and had shown it to her.

How come she didn't forget that part of her memory? She was only 15 when Scott had wore it on her finger, saying he was going to give it to the woman he was going to marry. She remembered Scott teasing her that the ring didn't fit her finger.

Wow, that meant Scott really loved Amanda enough to give her one of their family's most treasured heirloom. Anna thought for a while before someone knocked on her door.

"Come in." Anna said, turning to the door.

Jackie entered, looking pretty much excited. "Oh my God Anna!!!!" Jackie could no longer hide the excitement. "You won't believe who was in your kitchen."

  Anna raised a brow.

"Scott!! Scott Ontario!!! The sexiest man alive Scott Ontariooo!" Jackie said in an usual high pitched voice.

    "Oh." She responded dryly.

"Do you even know what this means?! It means our restaurant has gone viral!!! Anna this is huge!!!!" Jackie looked at her in awe.

"Is... Is this what you came to me?" Anna frowned at Jackie. Is this some sort of joke.

"Wait, aren't you happy?" Jackie gave her a look of uncertainty. "This could be the huge breakthrough that Justin was talking about."

Anna sighed, with a fake small smile. "I'm happy. Maybe not excited as you are, but happy."

Jackie nodded. "Hmm. Anyways, that's not why I came." Jackie's smile widened. "He wants to see you." Jackie said in a sing song. "What if he wants to recommend us to bigger clients because he liked our pastries? Oh wow!!"

Anna's face went pale within seconds.

"You should meet him." Jackie told her.

Anna bit her lips. She had always wondered how her first encounter with Scott would be like— in a mall, on the streets? She had so many scenarios in her head but never did she think it would be in her workplace. Did she want to speak to him? Absolutely not!

"Jackie I told you to handle the table didn't I?" Anna said.

"It's Scott Ontario we're talking about here Anna."

Yeah, that dude ain't God. Anna wanted to add but she kept it to herself. "It doesn't matter." Anna told her. "I don't want to be disturbed, now go." Anna sounded pushy and bossy. She hated sounding like that but she knew Jackie would stop at nothing to know why she didn't want to meet with Scott.

Jackie knew Anna meant business. "O-okay." She nodded before leaving the office.

Anna repeatedly sighed, trying to calm her nerves.

"Sir I'm sorry, she's quite busy. Maybe you could come around some other time." Jackie hoped he would say yes. She didn't miss the disappointment written on his face.

Scott nodded. He wasn't expecting that Anna would brush him off totally neither was he expecting her to welcome him with open arms. But this was seven years later right? Of course she had moved on totally... Right?

"I understand..." He was about to turn but he looked back at Jackie. "When does she get off work?" He asked.

Scott decided to hang around for a while even after Amanda had left. He wasn't inside the restaurant, he waited by a coffee shop. Speaking of Amanda, she was all by herself doing the cake tasting which she enjoyed very much, she was glad that Scott stuck around for a while. It made her happy and hopeful that things with Scott would work out fine, just with a little push.
🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼

It was 6pm, Anna was ready to leave the restaurant and go home. She was glad when Jackie told her that Scott already left, she was at ease and tension free.

"Guys I'm leaving. See you!" Anna told the staff as she walked out of the kitchen. She walked up to Jackie who was behind the counter in the main dinning area. "Jackie?"

    Jackie smiled at her.

"I'm leaving now." Anna told her.

"Drive safely." Jackie nodded with a wider smile.

"Um, about before." Anna had to bring out the topic. "I didn't mean to sound rude or—"

"Anna, hey Anna, it's fine." She assured Anna.

"Oh Jackie, I just wanted to apologize." Anna slouched, feeling really bad.

"It's okay. I have totally forgotten about it! Swears!!" Jackie chuckled.

Anna smiled at her. "Thank you." Anna tapped Jackie's hand which was on the counter. "Thank you again! Bye."

"Bye." Jackie gave her a thumbs up. "See you soon!!" She said as Anna walked out of the restaurant.

Anna walked out of the entrance door. She remembered that she had to get some things for Isla before going back to Ireland so she decided to stroll down the street to find the toy store. She was almost at the toy store when she felt a hand hold hers, she stopped, turned and stared.

"Anna." Scott's eyes lit up, as he looked at her.

Anna turned, facing him squarely. Once again, her heart raced against her chest. She kept on staring without knowing  she was holding her breath.

"Anna." Scott pulled her into his arms, hugging her like he was never letting go. He had so many emotions in one place as he held her so closely.

Anna was shocked, she wasn't expecting the bear crushing hug, neither was she expecting him to be sentimental. She didn't hug him back as her hands stilled by her side without moving. She suddenly found the courage to gently push him away.

Scott smiled at her, with joy flooding his face.

Anna decided to clear the awkward moment by clearing her throat.

"I'm sorry, I'm just.... I'm just really happy to see you." He was trying to contain his happiness.

Anna noticed he still held her by her hand, she looked at his hand, back to his face and then she did it again before Scott understood what she meant.

Scott smiled, pulling her closer. "It's me, it's me Scott."

Anna nodded slowly, still thinking of what to say. "Ye-yes." Her voice was failing her. "Mr Ontario."

Scott's smile widened. "There's no need for the formalities Anna."

Anna pulled away from his touch, keeping her face serious. "Please don't do that again. Mr Ontario, I am exhausted. If you're here to talk about the cake, you can ask my assistant, she'll help you out. Good night." Anna said to him, turning to leave.

"No wait." Scott stopped her, holding her hand.

Anna turned back at him. "Stop touching me Mr Ontario." Anna pulled away again, this time frowning at him.

Scott understood very much that Anna had every right to be cold towards him. "I'm sorry." He quickly apologized. "Anna I looked for you everywhere, I'm just so glad to finally meet you. I-I-I want us to talk, let's talk." He told her with a small smile.

Anna frowned even more. "Talk about what?"

"About everything!" He didn't care about the cold responses, he was just too excited to care about it. "You, everything! I just want to talk."

     "Mr Ontario I'm not—"

"It's Scott to you." He said to her. "And I am not leaving until you give me a chance to talk to you." He told her plainly.

"Mr Ontario," she didn't care if he wanted to be called Scott. "Can I say something? I am not down for reunion right now. I have somewhere to be. I have had a tiring morning and afternoon, I just can't deal with more talks." Anna had a deadpan look.

Scott nodded in absolute understanding. "Where are you going, let me drop you —"

"No it's fine. You don't have to." She declined.

"Please let me, it's the least I can do." Scott's eyes begged for her to say yes.

"I have a car Mr Ontario, I just want to get somethings down the road." Anna told him.

"I'll escort you." Scott looked hopeful.

"Thanks but no, I'm fine. Can I go now?" Anna raised a brow, trying to act tough. But deep down, Anna was melting. She was only putting on a charade in front of Scott so he would leave her alone. She didn't mean to be cold and rude. Yes, Scott was, is, a jerk and deserves death, but now she didn't care about him anymore. No feelings, not even pity or hate. She had moved on.

"Anna..." Scott reached to her arm with sad eyes.

Anna held out her hand to stop him. "I think I have had enough for one night. I'm leaving now." She said before turning away and walking down the pavement. She was so scared that he might follow her so she decided to go to a hotel to sleep for the night.

As Anna predicted, Scott trailed her. For years he wished for her return but now, her returning suddenly left him dejected and unwanted. He was happy that he had finally seen her, but he still wasn't complete. He needed her back in his life, she was the only person who completed him. Always have been.

That night, Scott couldn't sleep, he kept thinking of how matured and different Anna looked. She was more beautiful, still the same shimmering hazel eyes, she had grown so much. Scott had always pictured her as the same high school Anna, now, he knew he was wrong.

"I saw Anna." Scott said as soon as Daniel opened his door.

He waited no time to go over to Daniel's house to share the news with him.

Daniel frowned, allowing him to enter. "What?"

"Daniel I saw Anna. Anna's here." Scott said to him.

Daniel nodded slowly. "O-okay, did you talk to her?"

"We did, maybe a little. But... I could tell she didn't want to talk to me, but that's okay." Scott was over the moon. "At least I know where to find her." He said walking into Daniel's apartment.

     "You do?"

"Yeah. I know she works at the bakery. Since I know where it is, I'm going there tomorrow." Scott told him. "I'll leave very early tomorrow so that I could meet her and then possibly get to talk with her." He was really happy that he couldn't wait for tomorrow.

"Is that a good idea?" Daniel asked him.

"Of course it is! I can't let her slip through my fingers again, can I?" Scott chuckled. "You should have seen her, she was so beautiful.... So graceful. Man, she doesn't keep her bangs anymore!" Scott laughed. "She was really different." Scott said, smiling into space.

Daniel had a small smile on his face. "You weren't expecting her to be this different."

"No I wasn't. She looks better than I imagined." Scott licked his lips. "I must say, she's pretty hot too."

Daniel rolled his eyes.... "Oh no Scott..."

"No no, I don't mean it that way." Scott shook his head. "She's just... Anna. Everything about her makes me like her," he turned to his brother. "Do you understand?"

"Are you actually fangirling someone you hardly know or even talked to?" Daniel smirked.

Scott scoffed... "I know Anna like the back of my palm. I'm pretty sure that even though she looked different, she is still that soft, innocent, girl. You know, Anna bear." Scott was actually surprised that he was talking as if he and Anna didn't lose contact.

Daniel shrugged, putting his hands in his pocket. "Too early to detect isn't it." He said walking away.

"Dude I'm gonna pass the night here. I don't wanna go to my pad tonight."

"Knock yourself out." Daniel said retreating.

     "Daniel!" Scott called him back.

Daniel turned back. "What?" He gave him a look.

"Don't you wanna tell me who the mystery girl is? The whole family is dying to know." Scott smirked at him.

    Daniel smirked back....
