Bright light shone through the blinds of my curtains disturbing my sleep. It had taken me hours to fall asleep after getting home last night. My body and wolf were restless and the lack of connection to our mates. Opening my eyes I glance over at my clock to see that it was ten in the morning. As much as I wanted to stay in bed and avoid the outside world I had to check in with my father, brother, and Fletcher about last night. But the first person I needed to desperately see was Savannah, surely she could offer some advice. Since she was the oracle she could easily see into the future and tell fortunes, she must have some idea as to what might happen if I go with them.

Slipping out of bed I grab my towel for a shower and head into my ensuite. Taking a quick shower I wash off the dirt and make up that I had failed to remove before climbing into bed last night. Getting out I brush my wet curly hair and put it up into a messy bun with strands falling out at the nape of my neck and framing my heart shaped face. I walk back into my room and head straight for my closet rubbing lotion on my arms and legs in the process. Coming to a stop I grab my pink oversized hoodie and a pair of black jean shorts and my black combat boots. As I pulled on my clothes I could not help but think back to last night. The Stone Alphas...They were just as every bit of intimidating as people had described them. They were known for their cruelty and dominating nature, well one of them at least, the other was known for his peacemaking abilities and the natural pull shifters felt towards him. Yet to me, they were virtually strangers I know nothing about. Shaking my head I reaffirm to myself that I would not let myself get caught up with them. Leaving my room I headed downstairs smiling and waving at pack members as I passed them in the halls. Everyone greeted me with a 'hello' or simply bowed their heads in respect.

"Good Morning!" I sing as I step into the kitchen. Stopping in my tracts I come face to face with my worst nightmare. Cole is sitting at the table stuffing his face full of food without a care in the world, Fletcher is standing over in the corner with his arms crossed over his chest and an annoyed expression, and the Twin alphas were seated across from my father with an intimidating aura seeping off of them. Josiah and Jeremiah's heads turned to where I stood, a slow soft smile crept onto Jeremiah's face whereas Josiah's remained unreadable and stone cold.

"Hello...?" I start walking slowly towards Fletcher hoping that he will be my backup. Fletcher shook his head and pointed to the empty seat next to my father. I guess I'm not getting out of this one.

"Cassandra." My Father's voice held authority calling me over to his side. I take a seat next to my father across from Josiah. His eyes bore into me as I took my seat stiffly and began to squirm under his heated gaze. The room went silent as my father and mates held a staring match, the tension in the air so thick you could cut it with a knife.

"Do you want to explain to me why the Alphas of the West have shown up, in my pack, claiming you to be their mate?" My father questioned with a hard tone. Although he was rather terrifying at this moment I sat up straight not allowing my fear to be known. Having alpha blood almost made me immune to alpha tones and commands, however, daddy dearest has made me submit many times when I have challenged him.

"I did not know that they are my mates." I responded letting the word mate roll off my tongue with venom. Josiah growled lowly his hands clenched into fists on top of the kitchen table.

"Bullshit," He growled, causing Jeremiah to grip onto his shaking form and hold him in his seat.

"You know as well as we do that we are mates! We felt the sparks when we touched you last night." I watched them with uninterested eyes annoyed that they had arrived at my pack.

"Excuse my brother," Jeremiah interjected, his voice smooth as silk making me involuntarily shiver.

"My brother is a bit of a hot head." He smiled charmingly, his eyes finding mine in the process. I heard Fletcher let out a stifled laugh.

"Two hot heads in one room..." He continued trying to hold back his laughter. I rolled my eyes and sent him a glare.

"Cassandra," Jeremiah purred, getting an instant reaction of liquid heat pooling between my thighs. I clamp my thighs together in an attempt to keep my arousal at bay, but there was no way I was going to be able to hide my scent from them. Jeremiah stiffened in his seat, his nose flaring as he sniffed the air.

"Is indeed our mate. We happened to meet her at the Moon dance last night, but she appeared ill and left before we could confirm it." Jeremiah explained having released Josiah once his anger subsided. My eyes wandered to his finding them to have darkened with lust, and once again that tugging need in my groin pulsed.

Fletcher get me out of here! I linked him as I bit my lip.

"Okay, that's enough, I'll leave you two to speak with my Alpha. However, Cass and I have some things to attend to. I need to get some time in with my friend before she leaves with you." Fletcher interjected, lifting me out of my seat and throwing me over his shoulder. I squeaked in surprise, my hands going behind me to cover my ass, why did I decide to wear shorts today? Josiah and Jeremiah stood up quickly knocking over their chairs in the process growling lowly at him.

"With all due respect Alphas," Fletcher sneered lightly as he stalked towards the door. "As I explained last night, my wolf is protective over her and if she requires protection, even from her mates, it is my duty to be there by her side." With that he turned on his heel and left the room.

After walking towards the tree line Fletcher set me down with a sigh.

"Are you looking to get yourself in trouble?" He asked with his eyes silently scolding me. I looked down, twisting my hands in guilt.

"Are they the reason you left the dance early last night?" Fletcher pressed crossing his arms over his chest.

"Yes..." I trailed off unsure of what else to say.

"Goddess Cass! We were worried sick about you! You should have at least linked us and let us know what was going on. What would you have done if you had gotten hurt? All I knew was that you wanted to go home, what if there were rogues out? Goddess I'm so stupid, my wolf was pushing me to follow you home and I didn't listen." He scolded, raising his voice slightly.

"I was lost in thought, the only thing I was thinking of was to get the hell away from those two!" I snapped.

"Why are you running from them?" Fletcher asked as he wrapped his arm around my waist and we started walking.

"I didn't want two mates, let alone one." I mumbled childishly. Fletcher sighed rubbing his hand over his goatee. Fletcher was attractive, he stood tall at a 6'4 with copper colored hair, bright green eyes, and well groomed facial hair. At one point I had hoped he was my mate, but then our wolves imprinted on each other and that fizzled out any possibility of that happening.

"Listen, Cass, I know you don't want a mate. But you have to look at the positive side of things, you have two mates, do you know how often that happens? The last known twin wolves was twenty-five years ago when the pack was wiped out." He stated in astonishment. He was right, the last known pair of twins sharing one mate was a while ago.

"I should feel lucky, but you know I don't. Commitment scares me, I'm terrified of having a mate, getting attached, and then when something happens to one or both of them I don't know what I'd do. Thanks but no thanks. Plus after 'the incident' I haven't been too keen on being around other alphas without you Cole or my dad with me." I sighed, shaking my head.

"You can't keep running away from things. The incident happened over four years ago, don't you think it's time to move on? I know it was hard watching Alpha Parker lose his mate, but face it, without her you and Cole wouldn't be here. Alpha Parker may have been suffering in silence but that doesn't mean he didn't care about taking care of his pack. Trust me I do not want to hand you over to them either, but you should at least give them a chance." Fletcher smiled at me sadly walking back into the pack house and leaving me outside to think.

What were the benefits of a mate? Besides the tingles, what will they offer me that I cannot achieve on my own? I let my thoughts wander. I took a seat on the log next to me. The twins seemed like polar opposites, the way Jeremiah's soft tone and adorning eyes made everything in me turn to mush. But Josiah's dominance and powerful personality made my wolf howl in joy.

I glanced down at the grass and waved my hand slowly, the twigs and rocks rose up and I allowed my unknown power to pour through me. I had only started doing this recently, I don't know what changed to cause this increase in power, but it was exhilarating. I let the wind seep through my fingertips and control the earth, moving and playing with the leaves in a peaceful manner. This was my secret, something even Fletcher didn't know.
