"Tell me again why we have to attend this stupid dance?" I questioned my twin Jeremiah. He sighed as he straightened his tie and smoothed out his dress shirt.

"Because our pack needs a Luna, and we need to find our mate. Not to mention Lily will not leave us alone until we go." He responds in a clipped tone.

"You and I know well enough that we are more than capable of taking care of our pack on our own. We've been doing it for the past 10 years, I'm sure we can continue on just fine." I ground out trying to keep my temper intact. We had always been too busy to go to the triannual moon dance, which was usually a time where local packs would gather with the hope that their wolves would meet their mates. I was not thrilled to be attending this year, in fact I was looking for every reason not to go.

"We may be strong but we cannot deny our pack of a Luna. And frankly, I'm getting tired of the she wolves throwing themselves at us." He fires back.

"What is so wrong with choosing our strongest female warrior? I'm sure Madison would be more than happy to become Luna." I recommend, Madison may have been the strongest female warrior but she was not of Alpha blood, while it was a disappointment, I could not have cared less. I had actually been sleeping with Madison for the past six months, unlike me Jeremiah had been saving himself for our mate. I cannot seem to understand why he would deny himself of the pleasure he could get from the so called she-wolves that threw themselves at us. I do not see why she does not qualify to be Luna. She's strong, a majority of the pack likes her, she cares for the pups, and has so far been drama free.

"My wolf and I do not like the sound of that. I want my destined mate, not some she-wolf that is after the title." He growls at me baring his teeth. I stared him down, becoming increasingly annoyed with his attitude and overbearing nature. Finding out was the last thing I was worried about at the moment. Considering the Elder council has been asking about us finding them, that was screaming nothing but trouble.

"Now let us leave before we are late. I'd hate to miss even a second of finding our mate." He strides past me smirking at me knowing that he is going to get his way, he always does with his sickly sweet personality. I ran my hands through my hair letting out a heavy sigh, this was going to be a long night.

We had arrived at the neutral grounds after a forty-five minute drive and I was pleasantly surprised to see how...dressed up everyone was. Jeremiah and I wore watching crisp white shirts and Royal blue slacks and a pair of white loafers. The only way to tell us apart was our hair, mine a rich chocolate brown, Jeremiah's pure black. His hair was completely different from his personality, he was a chipper fellow that always had a smile on his face. The entire pack loved him, and frankly, he was the reason we had so many alliances with the other surrounding packs. You could say he was the light and I, the dark, with a bad attitude and dominating wolf that wanted all to submit. Jeremiah broke me out of my thought's when he nudged my arm and gave me a stiff look.

"Do you smell that?" He questioned raising his nose into the air. His nostrils flared as he took in a deep inhale. I did the same as I took a long whiff of the air, a particular scent standing out to me, vanilla and pine.

"Mate..." My brother growled as he stalked through the crowds of people. The smell of her pulled me as I followed Jeremiah through the crowd pushing past mingling wolves and desperate females that tried to get our attention. He stopped and my eyes zeroed in on the beauty that stood at the entrance.

Her mocha skin shimmered in the moonlight, her green eyes lit up as she spoke to the wolves around her, a breathtaking smile gracing her beautiful features. One wolf wrapped his arm around her shoulder and I could not help the growl that escaped past my lips, but I was not alone seeing that my brother had made the same sound. He was dressed in white, he was an average wolf without a status easy enough to take down. We watched as our mate walked further into the party mingling and smiling. She looked confident, strong, beautiful, and absolutely breath-taking. Her figure was slim and shaped like an hourglass, wide hips, small waist, and a rather large chest. She looked absolutely stunning in her dress and by the color I could tell that she was of Alpha blood.

I stopped, why was I feeling this way? I didn't even want to be here.

"It's the mate pull. You can't fight it, brother." Jeremiah confirmed giving me a knowing look. I rolled my eyes and cracked my knuckles, I didn't want this.

"Alpha Stones!" One of the hefty elders of the area greeted us, blocking our view of our beautiful mate.

"Welcome, I was not expecting you to attend this month. I know that you have been busy protecting and building your pack." We nodded solemnly.

"It is truly an honor for you to be here, I hope that everything is to your liking." He continued, "I am Alpha Jamison, Alpha of the white waters pack. I had actually been meaning to discuss with you a possible alliance. My pack has been dealing with a rogue problem for the past couple of weeks and I had noticed that they are coming together and acting as a pack. Honestly I am growing quite worried since-"I sighed wanting him out of my face, I did not come here for this.

"Ah yes, we were just on our way to mingle. Excuse us." My brother said politely stepping away from the elder and focusing back on getting to our mate.

"We'll have to check on that rogue problem when we get home. It's not normal for them to act like that." I added as we continued following her delectable scent.

"I agree, but for now let's focus on our mate." Jeremiah dismissed the subject. We caught sight of our mate, and things were not looking good.

She did not appear to look well as she stumbled at the drinks her hand caught the side of the table steading herself. We take our eyes off of her for one second and she already looks as if she is about to pass out. I watched her perfect plump lips take a sip from one of the Champagne glasses. She looked nervous, her hands were shaking and she clenched her fists.

"She appears distressed..." I mumble to Jeremiah. He nods in agreement picking up his pace. She sets down her glass and stumbles toward the exit, in a flash Jeremiah and I catch her. My arm wraps around her shoulder while Jeremiah's wraps around her waist. Her eyes were squeezed shut as if she were expecting to have hit the ground.

Her eyes cracked open slowly to reveal the most beautiful set of eyes I've ever seen, a bright emerald green that stood out against her smooth mocha skin. Her skin, smooth and without a blemish, everything about her screamed perfection and made my wolf howl in joy. Her hair, although tied up, appeared soft to the touch with loose curls falling out at the nape of her neck.

"Are you okay?" Jeremiah asks as we ease her back up into a standing position. She stares blankly at us for a second, her eyes shooting between my brother and I.

"I'm fine." She states before turning on her heel and rushing away. Jeremiah and I shared a look, a smirk plastered on his face confirmed my thought. 'Mate' he growls through the mind link I nod my head in agreement.

"We can't let her leave without finding out her name and pack. As much as I'd love to take her home with us, something appears to be off." Jeremiah pats my shoulder as he starts in her direction.

"Wait!" I called catching up with my brother. We watched as she quickened her pace towards, what we assumed was her pack bus. We each reach out and grab her arms and pull her into us once more. Sparks ignited where our skin connected and my wolf reveled in it, it was like finding true inner peace for the first time. Her eyes widened as she gazed up at us, her much shorter height only bringing her to the middle of our chest, with heels no less. Her bright green eyes examined us, softening as her eyes drank us in.

"What happens to be your name?" I whisper into her ear as I let my hand roam down the exposed skin of her back. Our mate bit her lip as a soft moan vibrated from her throat.

"C-cassandra..." By now Jeremiah had slipped behind her and was breathing in her scent, his lips nipping at the base of her neck. Her body jolted between us as the mate bond pushed her body to respond to our touch.

"A beautiful name for a beautiful mate..." Jeremiah purred, running his hand down her arm and intertwining their fingers. I watched as she bit her lip and eyes fluttered close. I continued letting my hands run up and down her arms while taking her other hand and intertwined our fingers. With a groan she broke out of our grasp and sprinted toward the tree line. We watched as she slipped off her shoes and shifted immediately. Cassandra's wolf was larger than the average females, which was uncommon even if she was an alpha.

She disappeared out of sight and it was like I was broken out of a trance. I glanced at Jeremiah who mirrored my expression.

"Did you see that?" I nodded confirming what we had seen.

"Let's go find her pack, maybe we can figure out where she stays and we can retrieve her in the morning." Jeremiah suggested. I nodded and followed him back to the dance area. Looking over I find the two wolves she came with. I nudge Jeremiah and nod in the wolves direction. We make our way over to the wolves, they were alone as the stood off to the sidelines drinking in hand and sharing laughter between them

The copper haired wolf noticed our presence first and bowed at us. We nodded and acknowledged his respect before turning our attention to the alpha.

"Alpha." We greeted sharing a handshake. "Alphas, might I guess that you're the Stone brothers?" The man smiled. Jeremiah stepped forward, I was going to let him do the talking for the night. He was better at it anyways.

"Yes, Jeremiah and Josiah."

"I am Cole Rivers, soon to be the alpha of the Red River pack." The man introduced himself.

"We saw you enter with a female, Cassandra...was it?" The man's face lightened with recognition.

"That was my sister, did she say something stupid again? I swear that girl is going to get herself into trouble some day." Cole shook his head giving us an apologetic look.

"Fletch, where'd she go? I thought you were meeting her on the bus?" The copper hair male shrugged.

"She said she was heading back to the pack. I know that she was having a slight freak-out earlier, I was going to meet her there but then she told me not to. Is something else going on?" The male looked between us giving us a hard look.

"We are her mates, I highly suggest you watch your tone, mutt." I bared my teeth stepping forward only to be pushed back by Jeremiah.

"My apologies, Alpha. However our wolves have sworn protection over each other and we have imprinted. It is my duty to be concerned with her well being." The male did not back down, while I commend him for standing up and protecting my mate, I did not appreciate the disrespect.

"She can be a little rebellious, please. Why don't you come to our pack in the morning. I will let my father know to expect your visit." Cole stated peacefully.

'Thank you. We shall be there at ten." Jeremiah smiled before turning and leading me towards our SUV.

"They've imprinted on each other." I whispered. It wasn't as common as it used to be. Special wolves imprinted on each other when one or the other has special abilities.

"They have. There's a lot to learn about our mate. But for now let's head back and get some rest. I do not think she will be coming with us willingly tomorrow." Jeremiah stated. He was right, there will be a lot to learn about her.
