Chapter sixty-six: "Skin Texture"

I hurriedly grabbed my shorts in the walk-in closet and wore them in the bedroom before heading out to the living room where I see our friends enter through the elevator door

Alice saw me first and furrowed her brows once she looks at me up and down "Girl, you okay?"

Her words made the others look at me, Will noticed my appearance "Dudette is that Cloud's shirt?" he pointed it out and I nodded

"It's comfortable"
It is really comfortable and I felt cozy in it

My eyes soon landed on the old CDs that Jane was carrying "What are we watching?" I pointed to the box full of CDs she just set down on the kitchen counter

Jane grinned "It's all of our old photos and videos"

Cloud took a peel inside the box "You really are old fashion, nobody watches in CDs these days"

My family also has a stockpile of CDs and cassette tapes of our childhood videos in the attic, it must be accumulating dust right now

"Cool! I'll go make us some snacks while you guys prepare the CD Player" I said to all of them before I head straight to the kitchen and started making snacks like Nachos, popcorn, and some strawberry brownies from scratch since it took them a while to start up the CD player

After the brownies were done baking in the oven, I put on an oven mitt and opened the oven. The scent of the strawberry brownies hit all of our noses and they all started turning their heads in my direction

"You know what? I'm not really good at fixing the CD player so guys go ahead" Jane smiled before giggling while jogging in my direction

"HEY, THAT'S UNFAIR!!" Nikki yelled since I could see she also wanted to eat the strawberry brownies

Before Jane could touch a brownie I slapped her game away "Uh uh, not until everyone is finished, until then wait"

I felt something tapping my foot and I look down to find Coco looking up at me with her tongue out and her open mouth making her look like she is smiling

"Sorry sweetie, I can't give you one since it is chocolate but there are some leftover strawberry bits, here" I fed her the remaining strawberry bits on the chopping board

"How come the dog gets to eat first" Jane complained and then we heard her stomach grumble

"The dog only has the strawberry bits, we, on the other hand, have the strawberry brownies. It's a huge difference really"
I felt bad for Coco so at least feeding her some strawberries can make her feel included. I wonder if Paul and Cheryl are feeding Bun-bun right now

After the long wait and the temptations we have to control for eating food, the CD player finally worked and everyone exhaled that the wait is over

All of them started running to the kitchen but I slap all of their hands away "Did you wash your hands?" I asked them with a raised brow

"But I'm hungry" Nick pouted sadly

"Tsk tsk, I wonder if the bacteria will also say that once it enters your tummy for not washing your hands," I said to him
I'm not exaggerating though. Back then Ella, Brie, and Cara, all got a bad stomach pain because they forgot to wash their hands after doing chores in cleaning the garage

We were surprised to find Brie to be the first one to experience the after effect first since I found her vomiting in the bathroom, Cara was found on the floor with both hands on her stomach that hurts so badly. I wouldn't wanna talk about much on Ella's case because she experienced the worse #2 in her life

Mom and Day rushed them immediately to the hospital and the bill was not something to not take seriously, it was hella expensive because of how long they stayed at the hospital. It was the most expensive hospital bill, luckily we have health insurance to cover most of it since mom knew something like this was gonna happen

The bill was more expensive than what mom had when giving birth to all seven of us on different timelines

A simple sickness could've been avoided and now we learned an expensive lesson

"I am not letting guys touch the food unless you all wash your damn hands, do you hear me?"

Alice rolled her eyes, Will, Nikki, and Nick groaned while Jane and Cloud only nodded

"Whatever mom" Nick and Will grumbled under breathes in unison as they stomped their way to wash their hands

While the others started lining up to wash their hands, Cloud just waited until he was last and while waiting he kissed my cheek "Thanks for preparing this" he chimed happily before washing his hands

I crossed my arms and looked at all of my friends and my boyfriend eating the food "Now does that feel better eating with clean hands?"

Nick looks at me and said "I guess"

Jane started the video and the first thing we see is an extreme close-up shot of Alice at the camera that I shrieked in horror since I was the closest to the huge TV

Cloud almost spat out a nacho since he was trying hard not to laugh at me and so does the others, Jane and Will although laughed at me the loudest while Alice rolled her eyes at her boyfriend

"Why the heck are you so fucking close to the camera Alice?!" I asked her while still in a state of being frightened

"That was when I was trying to find a good angle to balance the camera bitch, stop laughing meee" she whined being embarrassed that her face was zoomed up so close that I could see the skin texture

"It's not that bad babe, I see you in worse faces than that"
Will that was the most stupidest comfort words I have ever heard

Alice smacked him at the back of his head and move to another couch where Nikki was sitting who was gobbling down the nachos, she kept stuffing the nachos in even though her cheeks were full

"Hey, where's Peter and Yara by the way?" I asked them
I knew something felt off, it was too quiet

It was like Yara heard me that she and Peter stepped out of the elevator

"Are we late?" she asked

"Yeah you guys are late, why though?" Cloud asked while enjoying the strawberry brownies
I think that's his 8th brownie

Yara glared at Peter who had a sheepish grin on his face "Why don't you ask this guy over here, he assured me that he didn't have a flat tire and what happened you ask? THE FUCKING TIRE EXPLODED WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING!!"

"And let me tell you, ya'll almost lost a hot friend here if it wasn't for dingo driver Peter not wanting me to meet God in less than 10 minutes into driving at the street"

Peter sighed and sat down on the couch "I didn't even know the tire was gonna explode"

Yara puts on a dead look in her eyes and said "I didn't even know that my final destination was nearly being crashed at a pole near Walmart"

Once she finishes being grumpy she glances at the TV screen screamed "WHO THE FUCK IS THAT?! THAT SKIN TEXTURE IS KILLING ME!!"

"That's me Yara" Alice said in a monotone voice

"Oh my goodness girl I'm so sorry" Yara puts on an awkward face
