Chapter fourteen: "Marshmallow"

We ate first the snacks he brought for our picnic, Cloud's hands reached in his small bag and pulled out a camera. He then pointed the camera at me "Smile!"

I held the half-bitten sandwich close to my face and I grinned at the camera, the camera clicked signaling that my picture was already taken. Cloud sets down the camera flat on the blanket "Hurry the timer is on!" He held his one arm out for me and I hurriedly scooted close to him

My head rested at his shoulder as we smiled for the camera

"I might head to Paris for a photoshoot" he announced to be while we waited for the timer to go off

"Oh, so how long will you be there?" I asked

"Probably for 1 week" he answered disappointedly

I moved my hand up and down at his back like a massage motion to stop him from stressing about it, juggling modeling and college life is no easy feat. We heard the camera click then we stopped posing

I gave him a light kiss "Don't stress too much or else your insomnia is gonna get worse again, you are still not yet recovered" I reminded him, he is almost finishing his routine check-ups that he still hates

What I am happy about is that he no longer depends on sleeping pills anymore which gave me a sense of relief, I found out that he turns to smoking and drinking to cope with himself back when we were still frenemies.

Cloud was facing the water with a stolen look

"Cloud" I called out his name and he shifted his attention to me

He smiled down at me showing his cute dimples "Yeah Angel?"

"It's only a week, don't worry," I said while standing up to stretch my arms and legs, I glanced down at Cloud and saw him gawking "Stop staring at my butt"

He smirked "Sorry, Can't help it"

I gave out my hand to him so I could pull him up from the ground, my feet knocked over something and it fell flat on the sand "We forgot to drink the wine" I pointed to the wine bottle flat on the sand

Cloud picked it up "We can drink this tonight before we leave back to Alberta" he suggested
I guess drinking with him tonight won't sound too bad

"THERE YOU GUYS ARE!" We were both startled by my Mom walking up to us "There is going to be a bonfire tonight and we're gonna roast some marshmallows, do you two wanna come? The whole family will be there" she asked excitedly with an excited face

I glanced up at Cloud's face before facing Mom "Sure!"

"Great! See you there sweetie, you too Cloud" she waved goodbye to us before heading to Aunt Holly to tell her about the bonfire gathering

After she was already far away from us, I said loudly "Whoever reaches the water last would be buying the marshmallows" then I started running to the waters with Cloud already running beside me at lightning speed

I accidentally tripped on something which made me fall and my hand touched the water making me the winner by accident "HA! I WIN MARSHALL" I yelled with a victory smirk

"Not on my watch" he replied then proceeded to pull me by the leg along the shore

"HEY!"

He glanced down at me while holding both of my feet, I crossed my arms at him "I was expecting you to carry me romantically but I didn't expect you to pull me like a trash bag"
I was hoping he would carry me bridal style and throw me in the water but no, this guy just pulls me like a mop

"Which one do you think is bigger?" I asked Cloud while I held two marshmallow bags on both hands trying to compare the size

Cloud concentrated on the two with observing eyes that continue to move left and right repeatedly
This is taking a long time, I think the bonfire has already started

We were at the convenience store that was near to the hotel trying to buy marshmallows, the girl that was in charge of the cashier couldn't take her eyes off of Cloud who was still distracted trying to guess which marshmallow pack is bigger
She is still gawking, Oh my God

After a long and hard wait, Cloud finally decided "This one!" He pointed to the marshmallow pack at my right hand

I smiled "Great choice, now we better hurry"
To be honest I just want the both of us out of here since the girl's gaze was a bit annoying

Me and Cloud met up with Caramia and Vivi by the area of the chip aisle "Ready to go?" I asked Vivi who held an enormous chips pack

"I am but I don't think Caramia is" she tilted her head to the left that was pointing to Caramia who was debating which flavor she would take

"I would suggest you take the sour cream since the barbeque flavor was not cutting it" Cloud suggested to Caramia
He must have tasted those chips before

She nodded her head at him before putting back one of the chips that were barbeque-flavored and hugged the sour cream one. We all went to pay for our food and the girl kept taking sneak glances at Cloud show as distracted by his phone

I gripped my wallet a little trying to hold back

She was already done and packed our food in a paper bag "Thank you for buying here" she grinned at all of us

The girl looks like she is younger than us by a year
I guess I should just let this slip by

I smiled at her "Thanks, bye" I waved goodbye to her before we head out to the automatic sliding doors while walking I noticed that Cloud wasn't with us

"I'll catch up with you guys," I said to Caramia before going back to the convenience store to see Cloud exit it

"Did you forget to buy something?" I asked him while he has both of his hands in his jacket pockets. I looked at the girl inside of the store with a red face like she was embarrassed which made me raise a brow at him
Did he tell her something?

Cloud pulled something out from his left pocket and it was a Pocky snack, he grinned at me "Let's play the pocky challenge and the loser would drink wine"

"Sounds fun, you're on!" I held his hand and together we head straight to the beach where there were 4 bonfires since we can't forget that Ramira's family and my clan are here

Dad saw us so he raised his arm and waved it "Sweetie over here"

He was seated beside Mom who keeps chatting with Aunt Laborè and her other two twins
Yes, Mom is one of the triplets in the family

It surprised everyone that she hasn't produced triplets yet when she already has 7 daughters, the triplet genes run in the family but it just surprises us every time that sometimes some triplets won't produce triplets at all.

The gene came from Granpa Loui who is a triplet himself

Sometimes even if you aren't a triplet as long as one of your parents is one, you'll be a triplet gene carrier and you might have a chance of producing triplets in the family
But I'll doubt that will happen to me haha

I'm not sure though if that's how it works

We both sat down at the space between Aunt Laborè and Natalie who were already assembling their s'mores. I opened the marshmallow pack and handed Cloud two marshmallows so he could stick them on a long stick and roast it in the fire.

While everybody was busy, one idiot decided to bring up one certain topic that I've been trying to avoid the moment I started

"Hey! Wanna talk about our childhoods?" One of my cousins asked all of us
FUCK NO!

"Sounds interesting" Cloud excitedly says while he puts the roasted marshmallow on the chocolate

I laughed nervously "How about the present yeah? There are more interesting stories at the present" I suggested and all of my cousins turned to me

"Yeah, I'm sure you don't want to talk about you accidentally using liquid wash than oil" Jeremiah, Vivi's brother teased me

"That was when we were 8! They were both yellow and have the same container" I defended myself

Cloud turned to face me with his face full of horror "I should label the liquid washing and oil from now on"

I slapped his shoulder "Stop it or else I'll kill you with liquid dishwashing soap" I threatened him through gritted teeth while grinning

Hey guys, I am truly sorry since I didn't update yesterday because this week has been truly hectic and yesterday was my pictorial for graduation. I hope you guys could understand

I do updates every day except for example like yesterday when it becomes too hectic that I get tired and didn't have time to update a chapter

Also, the next chapter will be a little *cough* different. Just a heads up ;)
