Chapter one hundred two: "Donuts"

After class, I decided to walk to the penthouse and visit Cloud, so I hurriedly packed my things in my bag and darted toward the door

"Penelope! Wanna join us to watch a movie? There's a new movie release at a cinema near here" Chris asked me while holding glitter glue

I shake my head "No thanks, what's up with the glitter glue?"

Chris grinned "A classmate of mine asked me if she could borrow the glitter glue I used to decorate my graduation hat"
Well that makes sense, Chris used gold glitter glue to make a huge C on top of his hat

I waved goodbye to him before walking out of the building and into the campus grounds where I can see everybody started to get ready packing their things in their dorm rooms. A sense of nostalgia hits me
I'm gonna miss this place

Spending 5 years in a place and with many great people I met throughout my studies, it's gonna make me miss this place even more once I graduate

I entered here at 17 and came out as a 23-year-old
Quite funny to think those exams, projects, and never-ending assignments would shift my focus that years had already passed

While walking on the sidewalk and admiring the lovely weather today in Alberta, I stopped abruptly when my eyes landed on a shop. At the very front of the shop in the display window was a beautiful wedding dress while a mannequin wearing it under the spotlight

The dress shimmers by the glitters on the skirt and a long veil that complemented the entire wedding dress

I gently smiled at myself

"Penelope!"

I was startled when I heard someone call out my name, it was Danny running toward me holding a rectangular box. She was out of breath right in front of me while giving me the box "Here are some donuts, Grandma taught me how to make them"

A chuckle escaped my lips as I checked out the donuts inside, sure enough, the delightful aroma of the desert hits my nose and I enjoyed the warmth of the freshly made donuts "Thanks Danny"

Danny and I became friends again, not that close but she made amazing progress throughout those 5 years. She started entering a local college a year after she took an entire year of rest after high school, she's gonna graduate next year

"So what's with the sudden giving of donuts?" I raised a brow at her with a slight smile on my lips

I let her catch her breath for a moment before she answered me "Since your graduation is near, I decided to make some donuts for you. Don't think I gave you cheap ones cause they're the best sellers in my grandma's shop" she raised her head proudly with her arms crossed on her chest

My attention went back to the donuts "They do look delicious, did you put poison in them?" I joked and she gasped

"Bitch if I poison you, Cloud would come for my head"

"I guess that's true" I giggled

With a straight face, she said "Cloud could destroy and bankrupt my grandma's donut shop, I'm serious here"

"By the way, have you seen Cloud recently? He's even getting busier and busier these days"

Danny shrugged at me "Beats me, he came to our shop and told my grandma something"

I grabbed both of her shoulders and shaped them a little like I'm trying to shake any answers out of her "Did she tell you something?"

"I don't know, she doesn't want to tell because she kept scolding me that I'm a blabber mouth" she rolled her eyes at the thought of her grandma calling her a blubber mouth which made me snort a little. Her upper body leaned slightly towards me "Also, Bianca Diasmo has been too bitchy in the donut shop so when she ordered some coffee I poured 1/4 of mop water in it"

We smirked at each other "Don't be embarrassed, you should've poured at least half of it"

"Then she could tell it's mop water"

I laughed out loud "What would a rich bratty girl like her know what mop water tastes like? Just say it's the special recipe" I winked at her
A smidge of Danny's mean personality also rubbed on me as soon as we started becoming friends again

Not the bad kind but when it comes to Bianca, we could concoct all kinds of mean things we could do to her without her knowledge

No surprise to me when I saw her run to the bathroom every time we mess with her food a little
So that's why she threw up in the hallway this morning and had a stomach ache

"Just be careful with messing with her food or else she might die" I patted her shoulder then walked past Danny while waving goodbye

"Will do!" she responded before I went around the corner of the building

It took me a while but I managed to reach the elevator before I could feel my legs get tired
I better talk with Cloud about this

Once the doors slide open, the entire penthouse was quiet today. Well this month is pretty busy for everybody so I can't expect someone to throw some party here

The donuts are now on the kitchen island as I headed my way to Cloud's bedroom. When I opened the door, I saw Cloud jump a little at the sound with his back facing me because he is sitting in front of his study desk that was flooded with books, papers, and folders

"Cloud are you okay?" I asked him with concern

It looks like he was doing something in front of him but I couldn't make out what he was doing so I just assumed he was finishing up some things he did for class "Uh Angel, you're here early" his voice sounded surprised by me

"Why? Is it bad?"

He fixed his hoodie and the papers on the desk before facing me with a grin "Nope! I'm glad you're here since I miss you"

"We just haven't talked face to face in 2 days, it's not that long"

Those forest green eyes look so tired when he hugged me on the bed "Can't I say that I miss my girlfriend"

"You know we could've spent time together but you were so busy that whenever I have an open time, you were busy with something"

He cleared his throat then blinked twice "I was?....oh right, yeah um...Some things needed to be finished in some of my classes" a sheepish grin formed on his handsome face

I raked my fingers through his hair "Looks like things are tough for my Astronomer" then I closed my eyes for a moment to let them relax after constantly fighting off sleep during class after a few nights of not getting proper sleep

"Cloud stop staring at me, I'm trying to get some sleep" I peeked at him resting on his arms at my side on the bed

Slowly his fingertips traced the features on my face "Just ignore it, I'm busy"

"Busy tracing my face like a creep that is" I joked and he rolled his eyes sassily at me

"No you idiot, I'm busy with something"

"I heard from Brian that he thinks you're planning a date that we would do after graduation, is that true?"

He squinted his eyes, and all of a sudden I felt the atmosphere around him become heavy almost due to nervousness "How much did he tell you?"

"Not much, only told me that you're planning a date" I grinned then I cut to the chase "Alright Marshall spit it out, are you cheating on me?"

"WHAT?!" he yelled that which startled the living shit out of me "Where the hell are you getting these ideas?"

I fixed the position of the pillow under my head "It's because you've been acting suspicious lately, you hide things when I walk in the room all of a sudden. Not once, not twice, but 5 times already"
Unlike me then, I can have sharp eyes when I see him acting super suspicious around me

"Angel the date was supposed to be a surprise but I guess Brian ruined it huh?"

"He saw me almost cry so he said that"
Nah, the almost cry part was a lie. I just exaggerated it a bit

Cloud hugged me instantly "I'm not cheating on you" he grumbled while snuggling close to me

I decided to play coy with my boyfriend "But you sure do act like it"

That triggered Cloud into a panic mode
