Chapter seventy-eight: "Chips"

Right after saying goodbye to Chris and Jonathan, me and Cloud we're now left alone. I snorted and laughed at his embarrassed face

"Angel don't laugh at me" Cloud grumbled with red ears

"Oh come on" I poked his cheek with playfulness "At least he thinks you're hot" I wiggled my brows at him before running away because Cloud started to run after me for mocking him too much

"COME BACK HERE!!" he yelled from behind me, my only reply was to stick my tongue out at him and ran faster
Well it's his fault that he involved me in going to the gym, so now I'm faster than I was before

But not as fast as Cloud running after me with pure determination written on his face

"Oh shit" I whisper to myself and pushed myself harder to put at least a huge width between us

We were both running around the campus grounds with a few curious students wondering why me and my boyfriend were running on a snowy day
I wouldn't be surprised if one of us slip and fell

That intuition was correct. I slip and fell to the ground on my back because the road that leads to the parking lot was slippery, one loud groan escaped from my lips with a sharp pain spreading in my lower back

My back is now flat on the ground as I face up to the sky in defeat

"Be careful Angel, you could get a huge injury"

Cloud stood beside my body on the ground, staring down at me with a smile on his face before carrying me bridal style "Caught ya". He started to head straight back to the girl's dorm building

My eyes rolled "Whatever, by the way, did you know that Juliet is pregnant?"

Frozen in shock, yes, that's what happened right after I asked Cloud about Juliet being pregnant. Those forest green eyes landed on me with mischief after he finally come to terms that his cousin is now a father

"How about we make one this Christmas? We can't fall behind"
Why this competitive idiot

"Cloud, making a baby is not a joke and besides, we're still college students. Romeo is older than you by 12 years so he is 30" I gave him a deadpan stare which he returned with giving me a small air kiss
It would only make sense that Romeo can get to be a father at 30 but not Cloud who was only 18

"What did I hear about you guys making a baby?" Paul was in front of the entrance gate of the girl's dorm building holding a high box that contained a synthetic Christmas tree

"Pau pau! There you are!" Cheryl chimed happily as she exited the building to reach her boyfriend

"Hold on, I'm just curious why your roommate is planning to get pregnant," Paul said to Cheryl

Cheryl gasped in shock "Penelope! Being a parent is a big responsibility. I can't expect you to juggle schoolwork and being a pare-" "Yes I know Cheryl, we're not really planning to become parents at 18"

One of her hands went to lay rest on her chest before exhaling in relief "Good, I don't want you ending up like one of my sisters who got pregnant too early"
No detail is needed to know she doesn't like teenage pregnancies

"Relax, it will take us years before I could properly marry her and have a baby" Cloud winked at the two with a cute boyish grin

"I'm just saying, if she really likes me then she should've said so in the first place" Yara complained to me for the 5th time she came to visit us in the penthouse
Every relationship has a rough road to pass but for Nikki and Yara? Their relationship is rough before they could even be called a couple

Nikki still has a small portion of her feelings for one of her first lovers who was Milly in her team, this made Yara annoyed, and pissed off, that she has to come here from her university just to rant out her unsaid frustrated feelings

Cloud only listened to us from a distance while pretending to read one of his astronomy books in the corner of the living room

Never have I seen Yara make such a variety of emotions than just from reading ero-romance books, call it weird but it was a refreshing sight for the eyes

The silk press hair that I usually see back in high school is now in box braids which complimented her face shape and features, her skin still glowing like how we met on day one of school

"Saying your feelings is hard, to be honest," Cloud joined in on the conversation with his eyes stuck on the astronomy book

Yara raised a brow at him "Just say your feelings, I don't think it's that hard" she crossed her arms and scrunched her nose

Me and Cloud looked at each other
Our relationship would've started a bit earlier if me and Cloud aren't such cowards to admit our feelings for each other

Yara was going through what I went through, while Nikki is now walking in Cloud's shoes

"Yara" I called out to her and she raised her eyes to look at me

Cloud set down his book on a nearby desk "Not everybody could easily express their emotions as you did but to make your confusion clear up, it's fear"

Yara was still new to having a relationship other than reading a book, not all relationships could go smoothly like how every character in her book does. That's what made Yara face the reality of what loving someone is like

"The fear of being rejected or even getting embarrassed by the person you like is enough to make your true feelings hide for protection" Cloud finished his sentence before walking up to me and kissing the top of my head "I'll be in the library" before he walks away

"The books made it seem too easy" she disappointedly spoke as she leaned her back on the backrest of the couch

"C'mon Yara, I think you are one of the first witnesses of how me and Cloud misunderstood each other before everything blew out of proportion" I patted her shoulder in assurance

She chuckled "Penelope, hon, let's be real here. Cloud didn't have any feelings for the last girl but mine did" and leaned forward to me "Cloud loved you from the start but he was too prideful to show it so he just shows it through the small actions that he did"

She slapped the palm of her hand on her forehead "And here I am with Nikki who wasn't even willing to give our relationship a try and dares to get angry at me for flirting with a guy"
Yara felt like a lot of things were getting too tangled up and she wanted to quit, she was tired

I'm not the right person to tell Yara what to do with her relationship, the best I could do is give get small advice and hope for the best

It was hard for me to watch my two close best friends be...what's that sentence again?....ah yes...running in circles like a dog trying to catch its tail

"I suggest you should confront about this to Nikki, saying all of these things to me won't change the core of the problem"
For the first time, I felt like a wise person giving such advice to a friend

Yara sat there looking defeated, although she read adult books so openly in public, she was really shy when it comes to a relationship especially if this is her first one

Cloud then stepped out of the library where I heard his stomach growled in hunger "I'm hungry" he mouthed to himself before walking to the kitchen to find himself a snack

The moment I saw him pull out chips from a cabinet, I went "Oh no you don't, but those chips back" I demanded before putting on an apron
Cloud was on a different diet this time so I was in charge of stopping him to let his cravings control his appetite for unhealthy food
