Chapter eighty-seven: "Beef Jerky"

Me and Cloud looked at each other before simultaneously glancing at Alice who was already busy talking to Peter

"Hey, guys!"

A loud voice caught all of our attention, at the far distance was Daisy running up to us
She was running too fast like she was being chased. It's snowing, the ground is slippery...Oh no

"Daisy be care-" I didn't manage to finish my sentence because she fell before I could. She fell on her back

It was a dramatic fall if I was asked, Daisy fell, her shoe flew up in the air and managed to hit Will square in the nose then he fell back. The gift on the other hand fell somewhere in the snow

Will now has a shoe mark in the middle of his face
I know we are supposed to be good friends but...

All of us are laughing our asses off at Will's face and the shoe mark left behind by Daisy's shoe

Some of us hurriedly helped Daisy who was in a pickle because she has one of her shoes missing, her other foot was greeted by the cold air and the gift that is somewhere in the snow is supposed to be for Yara

At the corner of my eyes, I saw Alice standing up and tossing a pack of wipes to Will without giving him a second glance before running up to us. Will was at a loss for words because he is used to Alice being the first to help him
Since they're both in a small break right now, Alice is the one suffering much more than Will does

If Will was new to that kind of treatment, Alice never wanted to experience this kind of Christmas awkwardness

Max tossed Daisy's shoe to Cloud and he caught it. We all thought Cloud was gonna help Daisy with her shoe but he just handed it to her before shoving both hands in his coat

Daisy blinked a few times "Wait, aren't you gonna help me? I'm literally your girlfriend's best friend"

Cloud snapped his fingers in front of her face two times "Wake up bestie, I'm only gonna kneel down and help if you are Angel, not Daisy the pea-sized brain"

It was only normal that Daisy gasped loudly "PEA BRAIN?! WHY YOU SCATTER BRAIN BEEF JERKY!!" she practically yelled at him with annoyance "I hope your brain becomes food so your girlfriend is tempted to eat it"
Scatterbrain beef jerky?

Cloud scoffed at her "Gladly, I might as well put it on a gold platter and serve it to her myself"
I think that's too much

Daisy made a small snowball and threw it at Cloud "Why on earth would you call me a pea brain?!"

My boyfriend crossed his arms at her in a sassy manner "Only an idiot would run on a slippery road. No one is even running after you" Cloud retorted to her in a mocking manner

Her face was almost red if it weren't for the fact that we try to calm her down while I try to scold Cloud

"Cloud that wasn't nice, say sorry"

Cloud being Cloud didn't like me asking him to do something like forcing him to apologize to someone but he never gets angry at me about it

"Fine" he mumbled under his breath before walking up to Daisy and giving her the stalest apology I've ever heard and seen

With a straight face, he said "Sorry pea brain" then stuck his tongue out at her

I threw my head back with my hand to cover both of my eyes
I must've dated a child

Once Daisy has calmed down, we all tried to search for her gift to Yara that is hidden somewhere in the snow

Yara being Yara hated the outdoors, snow included

She made a loud tired sound "Whatever is in that box I hope it's some cheap ass paint or whatever"

Daisy raised her brow "Cheap ass? Wait a minute, what was the theme again?" her head turned to look in Mira's direction

"It's 'Cheap Ass'"

"Oh...I uh... I might've bought Yara limited edition photo card illustrations from her favorite erotic novel" Daisy was left scratching her head and Yara turning hers with eyes wide

"WHAT?!" Yara yelled in disbelief

"Yeah, I know someone who was close to the author and I managed to snatch up some limited edition photo card illustrations with the signature on each card"

The Author's signature on the limited edition photo card was the last straw for Yara before she dived head first into the pile of snow

"Oh my God, someone pull her out!" Peter loudly panicked and ran after her aid as he grabbed her shoes trying his best to pull his bestie out. The rest followed suit

Cloud chuckled and pulled out his phone "Nikki is gonna laugh at this"

"Seriously?" I gave him a straight look and he returned it with an air kiss
Well that is his nature

I sigh before walking up to help pull Yara out of the snow. It took us a while with all of us doing our best

"For fucks sake Yara, It's just cards!!" I yelled at her with my hands holding her knees

"No! The gift might be in here" she stubbornly answered

Cloud finished recording and looked around the playground before his eyes landed on the bush beside him, he squinted his eyes before he uses his long arm to reach for the object "Hey pea brain, is this your gift?" he asked Daisy who was digging Yara out of the snow

Daisy nodded quickly and just like magic, Yara got out of the pile of snow on her own without help

With snow on her hair and shoulders, she ran up to Cloud and squealed excitedly when her hands grab hold of the gift. Yara was jumping up and down which was the most exercise she has done since PE class 4 years ago

After she was finished being excited, she gave Daisy a bear hug "Thank youuuu" she practically sang her thank you for being too happy

Daisy's face shows that she can't breathe due to the air-tight hug given "I..Can't...Breath" she struggles to say before Yara notices

She pulled back which helps Daisy gasp for air

Wyett was the last to arrive with his gift to Will. I started a running joke with Wyett where I started to tease him about what happened last year

"Hello Snitch" I greeted him

He stopped frozen "H-Hi"
Yes, I was the only one enjoying this running joke

His scaredy cat look changed once he saw Yara being disheveled with a lot of snow on her hair and shoulders "What happened to you?"

Yara held up her cards at Wyett's "Victory" she said breathlessly then showed her pearly white grin with a small tear rolling down her right eye

"What happened here?"

All of us looked to find the Matthew twins have arrived with their gifts. Nick's eyes widened when he saw Yara "Bitch what happened to you?!"

Cloud chuckled "She said, victory"

Nikki ran to help dust off the snow on Yara who didn't care about it because she was busy admiring the limited edition cards in her hands right now

"Nikki look, this is the part where they met at the Eiffel tower" Yara showed one of the cards to Nikki whowas worried for Yara who was unbelievably reckless

Nick, Cloud, and I, watched Nikki being like a caring partner

Nick sighed "I'll never get used to seeing her act so loving, it's so weird" he hugged my arm and acted like he was scared
